LG&T ds1's dad was very broad shouldered as well as being 6ft 2in and im only a short ass who at the time weighed about 8.5 stone (those were the days!!). Didnt really think about size of baby while i was pregnant with him, strange how we all worry about it once we have already had one child lol. As i said earlier ds1 was 8lb 5oz and very long but id been told he would be smaller at about 7lb 5oz and that most of my bump was water, guess they got that wrong

We all know though that every one of us is going to have lovely quick pain free labours and gorgeous little babies who weigh no more than 7lbs 5oz, oh and babies who sleep well at night too lol

Hello! I'm back. All fine, surprise, surprise. Feckin' aches stopped as soon as I lay on the bed.

THey were really lovely though, checked everything. I might have a slight UTI. THere was some bacteria in the pee sample so they've sent it to the lab. She said that UTIs can make you have slight contractions like that. Said to come back again if it got worse or I was worried at all.

You do feel like a bit of a duffer going in with nothing. Oh well. Am seeing midwife on Monday anyway.

Doctor said that all was fine and I could go back to work tomorrow (after midwife exclaimed at my hours and said it was too much) and as soon as I was out of the room she told me "He's a man, he's never been pregnant. You take tomorrow off and have a good rest." How lovely.

Staff were just charming, but the hospital is a dump. Shame for them working there. Glad I'm having a home birth.

Just going to email boss now. Hurrah! Mumsnetting and eating in bed tomorrow. Can't wait.

Thanks all for your concerns. How lovely to know people were thinking about me.

largeginandtonic · 06/03/2007 21:50

Oh thank goodness i can go to bed now. Have been very worried, we may have to exchange mobile numbers. Not sure i can take all this when we all start to disappear to have our babies in 10 weeks.

Hugs to you TYG, go to bed and rest, drink lots to flush the nasty bug out.

Night night all xxxxx

Hi Ladies.

Just wanted to wish you all good luck.
I had dd in May 05.

It's a great month to have a baby. All the beautiful sunshine of the summer to look forward to, strolling around with your newborn, but without having to cope with any of the hot months with a huge baby bump.

AbbyLou · 06/03/2007 22:04

Hi there everyone. I've given up trying to keepup eith the converstions on here so I'm just popping on from time to time when I can. You girls sure can talk!! You all seem to have so much happening all the time, makes my life sound quite boring!!
I'm desperate to finish weork now. The baby is still breech and I'm finding it really uncomfortable sitting on tiny little chairs and leaning over small children. I'm feeling really tired at the moment but that is probably becasue we went to see The Killers on Sunday night and it was a rather ;ate one. Well worth it though, they were fab. It was a great atmosphere and a brilliant show. Strangley there seemd to be an invasion of pregnant women around the area we were sitting in and it was still the lager swilling blokes who had to get up for a wee first!!!
I've fially been for a physio appointment and they said it's not actually sciatica I have got but Sacro-iliac Joint Dysfunction. She said it was like spd but at the back rather than the front. Doesn't mean a lot to me except for it's incredibly painful. She gave me a luscious belt to wear but it's so uncomfortable I can't wear it. It's ok when I'm standing up but seeing as though I spend most of my day sitting down I can't bear to wear it.
Preparation for the baby is going very slowly at this end. The Nursery still isn't painted. I keep nagging dh but he's doing two jobs at the moment trying to get a business off the ground and I feel I can't ask him to do anymore. My ds and b-i-l are coming over at the weekend and bringing loads of stuff that I borrowed last time so I should have a Moses basket, striliser and some of my unisex clothes back!
Anyway, I'm supposed to be marking spelling tests but got distracted by watching my beloved Blues knock out Porto in the Champions League so I really must get on. Don't know when I'll next be on, hopefully soon.
Take care all of you. xx

Creena · 07/03/2007 10:21

Morning all! Hope you're all feeling fine and well today!

Glad to hear all is well, TYG! What a relief! Make sure you get some rest now.

What nice messages from other May mums! My DD was born in May too and it was a really nice time to have a new baby, as I recall.

Have just been for ante natal check up and blood tests. Was weighed for the first time since the beginning of this pregnancy. I was shocked and ashamed to find that I've put on 2 stone. I've still got another 12 weeks to go! I'm going to be the size of a flippin' house by then!

We're off for a 4D scan this afternoon. Am really looking forward to it. We decided to go for one as the 20 week scan was done unexpectedly and in a bit of a rush, so we didn't get a decent photo or to ask questions etc. I'm wondering whether to ask about the gender this time - will have to see what DH thinks about this. It's just a standard 4D scan we're having, not specifically a 'gender scan' so they might not tell us anyway without charging us extra! Hope to get some lovely pictures, though; will post them up later if I get a chance.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 07/03/2007 10:44

Morning all.......

Glad you've been to the dr AM, and sooooo pleased he thinks all is ok.

TYG, that was quite a scare yesterday, phew, phew, phew all is well and I hope the infection goes soon.

lg&t, thats good news on Phins finger, hope it's not too sore for her, bless! What a pain about the school in Plymouth, glad you've found another even if it will mean new faces for them. I'm sure they'll be fine. Did your shopping arrive the other evening? are you replenished?

Went out to Friends for dinner last night, it was very nice and both of my dc's were asleep when we got home didn't expect that. Must start packing today. boo hoo

Enjoy your 4d scan Creena, how exciting, you be able to see lovely pic's today.

SOH, You sound sooo busy, don't over do it.

Hope everyone else is well.....................

largeginandtonic · 07/03/2007 11:08

Hello where is everyone again?

MrsJB glad dinner was nice, hate packing know what you mean. Just a couple of days and you will be supping hot choccie in the snow!

Creena i only weigh myself when i go to see MIL, i am going this weekend am sooooo notlooking forward to it. Really hoping i have not reached the 12 stone point

Hope the scan goes ok, post piccies if you can later. The 3d scans are amazing!

TYG where are you? Time to get out of bed and talk to us. Hope you had a quiet night and the pain stayed away.

largeginandtonic · 07/03/2007 11:09

The shopping did arrive at bloody 9.50!!!!! I was starving by then and had to pack it all away, it was soooo late.

SKYTVADDICT · 07/03/2007 11:25

Morning all

TYG glad your scare is over.

LG&T - I have just about reached 14 stone and don't think I'll be weighing any myself any more.

I have been thinking about this big baby thing and they are basing it on the fact that my bump measures 38 (should be 32!) but I think my stomach probably measured about 6 of flab before I got pregnant LOL.

Going out for lunch today and have already been for coffee (2 hot chocolates, one with cream) on the basis that if the Glucose Tolerance Test shows up anything nasty I will have to cut all goodies out, I shall make up for it before then.

largeginandtonic · 07/03/2007 11:31

I would be cramming the goodies too SKYTV!!

I cant believe your tummy is measuring 38! Maybe they have your dates wrong and you only have 2 weeks left of this prg and out will pop a lovely 7lb baby. Wouldnt that be lovely? Wishful thinking perhaps

I have just eaten a bowl of cereal with lots of greek yoghurt on it, i love it. Trouble is im still hungry, may go and make soup.

ShowOfHands · 07/03/2007 11:58

Glad you're alright TYG.

Quick message as am one handed typing. Knocked over this morning by cyclist- silly twonk (and I'm a cyclist so have great respect usually but GET OFF THE PAVEMENT). Badly sprained shoulder and bruising. Also got a phonecall from the doctors as I sat in the minor injuries unit. Am very anaemic.

Bugger.

Bad day. Back at work now, can't take anything other than paracetamol.

Whinge over!

Creena · 07/03/2007 12:05

Bloody hell, SOH! You must have taken a knock! Sorry if this sounds a bit bossy but what on earth are you doing at work??! You've a badly sprained shoulder and bruising plus you're also anaemic - you should be at home resting, never mind doing one handed typing.

Don't make me come all the way to Norfolk, where I'll bundle you into a van and forcefully take you home (A Team style)!!!!

ShowOfHands · 07/03/2007 12:17

Ha ha. You'll never find me. No main roads in Norfolk, you'll end up in a field.

Feel guilty taking time off, stuff to do. I can catalogue books one-handed.

Bloomin sore though.

largeginandtonic · 07/03/2007 12:28

Go home you silly moo, for goodness sake!

Have you told DH, i expect he would order you home too. Tell him to pick you up some Floradix from the chemist\health food shop on the way home.

))))))hugs((((((

HOME >

ShowOfHands · 07/03/2007 12:32

I can't go home. Work to do. I'll go home in 4.5hrs. On holiday next week, can't take advantage.

Is that iron drink as horrid as it sounds?

ShowOfHands · 07/03/2007 12:33

And don't be nice to me, I'm shaken up and will cry.

largeginandtonic · 07/03/2007 12:37

The drink is nice SOH, you only have a cap full, keep it in the fridge too. Much better than the prescribed iron tablets that will just make you constipated.

Eat lots of spinach, spring greens, dried apricots and drink lots of fresh orange juice as the vit C will help your body absorb the iron. I would say have a lovely steak but not sure you would like that

Oh and GO HOME

Mrsjaffabiffa · 07/03/2007 12:54

Oh SOH, Not being nice as I don't want you to cry, but you really should go home.

Ok being nice now, cyclists on the pavement, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr )))))))))))))))HUGS((((((((((((((((

GO HOME, Opps I'm shouting again.

SKY, lg&t, that would be bliss, Well, I thought I was 30 weeks but in actually fact I'm 38, Ohhhhhhhhhh we can wish. You'll be fine SKY, don't worry about it, I have a friend in RL she is 9 weeks behind me and her belly is twice the size of mine, she sent me a picture of her "bump" the other day and I couldn't believe it. She carries alot of water.

Just had egg mayo for lunch and now back to more jobs.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 07/03/2007 12:55

Ohhh forgot to add, Dried Apricots. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Guiness is good too,

Mrsjaffabiffa · 07/03/2007 12:57

Sorry, I have no idea how a huge space ended up in there, it didn't preview that way,

ShowOfHands · 07/03/2007 13:01

Like dried apricots and broccoli. Yummy. But can't get to the shops. Will have to manage until next week. Anaemia explains the fatigue though.

And you're all being too nice. You're supposed to say 'shut up and stop whining'
