Oh SOH im so upset for you. Cant you go home too? I cant believe he cant get an app, perhaps if you phoned and explained a little about the situation it may help him get one now. Poor, poor you and DH, i wished i lived round the corner so i could give you a hug. DH does sound like he is on the verge of breakdown, the doctors need to see him, you cant sit on this over the weekend and next week.

Bloody bully, shall i phone work with a complaint\ pretend to be his GP so he doesnt have to go in?

Bensonbluebird · 09/03/2007 13:21

SOH, of course you can talk to us. I'd love to be able to help you more, or at least give you a hug.

I was bullied at work in my last job. I had an evil colleague who did everything she could to undermine me and make me feel like I was useless. I felt like I should be able to sort it out on my and so never went to the directors. When I left a good friend of mine got my job and eventually confessed to me that the same person was bullying her. That made me feel even more sh*t because I felt like I should have been able to prevent it happening to her too. Now I have some distance I know that I am good at my job, just as I'm sure your DH is good at his - but I do wish I had done something about it.

I did mean to say earlier that although you both have a lot of difficult things to deal with at the moment you do have one wonderful thing too, each other. Even though you feel like you don't know how to help him you can keep telling him that you love him and remind about all the things that are good in your lives.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 09/03/2007 13:23

Fantastic idea lg&t, that might just work, she is such a bitch, I just can't believe it. Let lg&t call her, go on! You could try calling her to explain the situation but she sounds such a cow it might not work coming from you anyway, and you have said before you don't like complaining on the phone.

SOH, I'm sad too for you, don't be silly about voicing it on here, you need to get things off your mind. I just wish there was more we could do....... The gp will see you/him if it's an emergency like this, they have to fit you in if they are aware of the situation, you should at least be able to get a telephone appointment with your gp.

madeindevon · 09/03/2007 13:32

show of hands - so sry you are going thru this difficult time with hubby. its great that you are so strong for him tho. i dont have any pearls of wisdom im afriad tho but i do know what its like. i worked with an alcoholic when i was a junior broker and i was so scared at one point on one of his drunken afternoons that he was gonna smash a chair around my head.
just wanted to say thanks for advice about iron tablets. there was no leaflet with mine. just label saying take one a day and the dose. i called nhs direct and they said that its hard for body to absorb the iron which is why the dose sounds big....your body wont get anywhere near that amount. 305 of ferrous fumarate was about right she assured me.
take care....weekend just around the corner....

ShowOfHands · 09/03/2007 13:51

You're all so very lovely. I feel like such a prat.

Talk about baby things and stretchmarks and buggied transportation. Pretend I'm not here, this is not a problem page and I am not a spotty teenager.

I've found the solution, I'm inventing a time machine...

madeindevon · 09/03/2007 14:02

i found myself in the "baby" aisle of the supermarket the other night. unexpectedly.....
and purchase 1st baby items!!! packet of nappies, packet of wipes, packet of cotton wool and a pack of ultra san towels for me!
wierd feeling....!!!!
better get some clothes for LO at some point too!

Bensonbluebird · 09/03/2007 14:04

Why feel like a prat? none of this is your fault and how you feel is to do with being prego, anaemic etc.

However, something to share with you about hte hazards of birthing balls. I did a big prat fall off mine earlier. I was sitting at my desk on it, got up to go out of the office and got my foot caught between the ball and the doorframe. It was like felling a tree. I was completely unhurt and rolling around on the floor laughing. DP was very concerned though. Sweet man.

twelveyeargap · 09/03/2007 14:26

That's it Benson, I definitely cannot bring a ball to work. If I fell off, I would NEVER be allowed to forget it.

I ordered two packets of eco-friendly newborn nappies with my Ocado shop. Plan to use reusables, but thought I'd make things easy on myself for the first couple of weeks. It felt VERY weird buying "normal" baby stuff like that.

SOH - you work away here and tell us your troubles. There's no point in both you and DH crumbling under the pressure. If at least one of you can let of steam, it should help a bit.

largeginandtonic · 09/03/2007 14:33

Mrsjaffabiffa · 09/03/2007 18:43

Not so bad thank, we are off skiing at 2.30am, have just put the kids to bed for a few hours and am going to finish off tidying, packing last bits and then watch benders and then take my self to bed for a couple of hours.

Coccyx is agony, not sure how I'm going to make the 8 hr car journey,

Glad to hear your cramps have gone, it probably is just that, rest as you can. FWIW, I too am pulling my hair out with ds(4), I have to crack down on his arguing black is white before this baby arrives.

lillaura · 09/03/2007 19:07

sounds so alike! THAT AND THE QUESTION WHY? WHEN YOU ASK THEM TO DO SOMETHING dd been wingy and demandin ds getting clingy dnt knw where to start - hope travelling isnt too uncomfortable for you at least if you r going by car u can make stops when you need too we drive to scotland alot as the in-laws live there! so i knw the feeling i avoid it like the plague when im pregnant! hope you have a good time no really i do

aprilmeadow · 09/03/2007 19:52

Evening

SOH - i just want to give you a big cuddle! I hope that you both have a good weekend away from work and that you are able to get rid of your nasty sore throat.

MrsJB - sorry i havent been around much this week, have missed our msn chats. Been so knackered in the evenings and too busy at work to get on and post. New car is FAB thanks, feels very high up. J really likes it and cries when i have to get him out. Have a wonderful time skiing/drinking hot chocolate.

Got a fairly busy weekend planned, we want to get J's bedroom painted tomorrow as i am feeling that there is a lot of things happening for Ella and she hasnt even arrived yet. I know he is not even 2 but i want him to feel that there are nice things happening for him as well. Lets see how far we get
