Awwww those are really nice catrash - theres no woodlandy creatures in the animalarium stuff, maybe get some William Morris wallpaper samples in frames? If you go to John Lewis and you can order them for free and there's some really pretty woodland themes to pick from ♡

ButterflyFree · 18/04/2017 14:46

Loving all the nursery inspiration ladies - I'm dying to join in but since I'll be at my mum's house in London until end of August and then coming back to a totally new villa in Dubai, there's no point in me even thinking about nursery decoration yet 😩

Hospital just called with my blood test results from Sunday's checkup - as I suspected, my thyroid levels have shot up since last month 😓 so that explains why I've been so extra exhausted and lazy recently. Haven't been feeling myself at all in terms of energy levels, and I just knew it was more than pregnancy tiredness. I need to double my dosage of thyroid medication immediately to try and get back down within the acceptable range during pregnancy.

Flappergirl86 · 18/04/2017 15:28

Aww butterfly that sucks :( I hope some extra medicine sorts you out and there aren't too many side effects from it. X

Seahawk80 · 18/04/2017 16:28

Hope you're feeling better @ButterflyFree

Love the nursery @Flappergirl86 I need to get cracking!

So I seem to have gone from feeling great to being huge and uncomfortable and really suffering from heartburn in a matter of days! Baby is transverse so that might be part of the reason - having something the size of a butternut squash wedged inside me sideways will probably do that!

glitterglitters · 18/04/2017 18:07

Gahhhhh! I just got a pregnancy update email and it's running a week ahead of me (so came up at 30 weeks rather than the 29+1 I am) and it's saying I should pack my hospital bag now!?!!? It's a bit early don't you think? I've not even got the 0-3 month clothes out of the loft yet!?

CuppaTeaTeddy · 18/04/2017 18:24

Hey everyone,

I was just wandering if anyone else has been/had any bad back pains? I'm 26 weeks today and had a visit from the midwife earlier today. She said it was probably because I'm quite small and she was gonna get me in for physio but it could take a while.

Anyone have any suggestions on ways to make the pain feel better? It was higher in my ribs but seems to be lowering now. I've taken paracetamol but it's been constant for about a week now x

Notyetthere · 18/04/2017 18:34

Glitter Grin guilty here!

It is probably too early to pack but I am going to start packing my hospital bag at 30 wks. I can't wait! In fact, I have started to throw bits into a corner of the nursery wardrobe that I know will go into the hospital bag. Last week I added to pile a shower gel, toothpaste, big black undies for after birth and the nipple that I got reduced on mothercare's website. My Tesco groceries online basket has the maternity pads to be delivered next week with rest of the shopping.

I packed the babies bag a couple of weeks ago after washing all her clothes; I thought I might as well put them straight into her bag from the washing line instead of wardrobe where I would need to then take them out again for her bag. Nothing to do with being excited. 😂.

I am 29+3 today have officially started the pregnancy waddle. I think baby has changed position so now where I feel an uncomfortable(not painful) pressure pushing down into the pubic area. The feeling disappears when I sit down or weirdly when I am going upstairs. I walked waddled very slowly up the hill to my car as the faster I went, it felt it was all going to drop!

Butter that's rubbish. Hope the extra drugs kick in quickly.

Flapper you are right. My asthma had gone for months where I had even stopped the medication (without doctor's advise oops!) only to return as I progressed into 2nd trimester. I have it under control now as I just restarted the initial medication that I was on before. Maybe the medication is also keeping the hay fever symptoms away?

mcnics · 18/04/2017 18:43

@CuppaTeaTeddy yes I've been struggling with some back pain in two areas, my ribs (back and front) and my lower pelvis/coccyx area. Hot water bottle seems to do the trick most of the time, but if not then I just have to lie on my bed until it passes (if I'm at home!)

CuppaTeaTeddy · 18/04/2017 18:47

@mcnics thanks for the message! Hot water bottle and a lie down sounds like a good idea at the minute so gonna do that for now! Hopefully it works xx

glitterglitters · 18/04/2017 18:47

@Notyetthere haha I don't blame you. I was like that with number 1. This time though. Effort 😂

I can also quite categorically say that I'm starting the waddling now. Dh walks too fast and i was in agony chasing him round town today 😫😭

Notyetthere · 18/04/2017 20:09

Nipple cream! Not just a nipple Grin

OP posts:
Notyetthere · 18/04/2017 20:17

Glitter you are right, I think because this will be my Pfb, I am packing with excitement. Never been excited to see big pants and a dressing in a pile ready to be put into a bagGrin. I think for subsequent babies with clothes up in the loft I won't be as excited about packing a bag.

OP posts:
rhodes2015 · 18/04/2017 20:27

glitter same as not I've bought stuff but not actually packed the bag. (I'm 29weeks)

butterfly hope your feeling better soon! X

cuppa yes to back pain, also lots of pressure on pubic bone, my moaning to DH has really cranked up a level this past week or 2Grin

I had midwife appointment today and she booked me in to discuss my birth plan with someone at a local children's centre?? So not with her? She also asked me to book onto A birth class session at the hospital I'll give birth at. It all made the birth feel very close and real!

glitterglitters · 18/04/2017 20:29

I was pursuing bags in town today though @Notyetthere and thinking about my own "coming home" outfit. So maybe a tad excited but more for me. Lol

I've booked in to get my hair done as wel. Going to try and go blonde 🙊🙊🙊 tempted to go Rose gold but think to might be a bjt much effort with a newborn and toddler.

LuciBee231015 · 18/04/2017 20:38

Had the scan today ladies, it was really good. Baby all on track and weighing in at 3 and a half pounds. Everything was average for 30+4. It had it face covered by my placenta the whole time so was tough to get good pics, but managed to get some. Was yawning and opening and closing its eyes, sucking its hand, really was amazing to watch.

I have gathered some bits for my hospital bag, plan to pack at the end of the month at about 33 weeks.

I'm don't have a baby bag yet but as soon as I do I will get washing and pack it. It's all very exciting!

Seahawk80 · 18/04/2017 20:38

@glitterglitters I've been thinking my about my coming home outfit too! Also bought a new big handbag instead of a baby changing bag! I did get a baby changing pouch from jojo maman bebe to go in it but I refuse to give up all style!

Seahawk80 · 18/04/2017 20:40

Lovely pic @LuciBee231015 - must make it feel so real! I don't think I'll get a 4D scan as we still have 2 more growth scans and I nagged DH for so many early scans. I am tempted tho!

Lallypopstick · 18/04/2017 20:42

Is there a reason why baby clothes need to be washed before they're worn?

glitterglitters · 18/04/2017 20:43

@Seahawk80 don't blame you! I really missed my handbag last time. My cousin bought me an awesome makeup pouch for all my "bits" to keep together in my changing bag but I switched back to my handbag as quickly as I could 🙊

glitterglitters · 18/04/2017 20:44

@Lallypopstick it's to do with chemicals used in industrial clothing manufacture. No issue for us adults but baby's skin is super sensitive. Plus all those people pawing at the cute baby clothes in the shop Confused.

I'm by no means a clean freak but it was something I will definitely do.

Notyetthere · 18/04/2017 21:23

Lally I washed all of my baby clothes but I remember mum didn't wash any my brother's before he was born. I remember clearly having to take sleepsuits out of the packaging for his first outfit. Nothing happened to him. But even mum recently mentioned that I should wash my baby's stuff which makes me assume she didn't think about chemicals/sticky hands in shops back then or maybe a bit more cautious because this is her precious first grandchild 😍

Luci that is a lovely image. Such detail! Glad all is progressing well. Now I want one but DH is very against it. Oh well.

Glitter, my coming home outfit will probably be pyjamas if we come home at night or one of my dresses. I rarely wear trousers or skirts so it will be a dress of some sort.

OP posts:
bluebird1235 · 19/04/2017 06:34

I'm washing mine too, also the ones I got second hand. I think the main reason is because I'm excited! Though a friend said to me the other day that I should only wash (new ones) that I know I want to use immediately. She said she washed all of hers and then got so many gifts of clothes that she wished she could have taken some of the ones she'd bought back to the shop but once they've had their tags taken off and been through the washing machine you can't really do that!!

Also, I'm definitely in the breathless club, though pretty sure it's just pregnancy!! I can't walk up hills, or up more than about 5 steps, and sometimes just getting up off the sofa leaves me feeling like I need a break!! Some of you posted a while back about still running, or cycling to work and it made me feel rather pathetic!! I used to be quite fit but I feel sooooooo unfit now. I couldn't even contemplate any kind of exercise like that!! Though it put it in perspective last week at Pilates there were a few people I hadn't met before, all 35+ weeks, and I was bigger than all of them!!

Does anyone else get random baby body parts sticking out of them? One of mine likes to stick his head out the side of my belly and it makes a massive bulge and my tummy looks very peculiar. Now I'm getting other body parts though and it's quite fun trying to guess what they are!

LuciBee231015 · 19/04/2017 09:20

seeing baby's face has made it feel slightly more real, but I'm just nervous! It could be excitement as well as I can't wait to meet them, bit nervous about giving birth at the same time.

I can't wait to wash all my baby bits and pack the baby's bag! My friends are getting me my changing bag for my baby shower which is on 4th June so will have to wait to pack it! I can get washing soon tho and have all the bits ready.

Think I will have the car seat ready in the car a few weeks before as well.

I was thinking maybe a maxi dress to come home in, it's likely to be warm and they are comfy and loose and can just bung some flip flops on, comfort!

My baby's bum tends to stick out quite often, a proper hard bulge on the side of my belly, when midwife felt my belly she said it was the bum! I get the feeling of hands fiddling around very low down as well, baby is head down so I'm guessing that's what it is! Also it has hiccups up to 3 times a day!!

rhodes2015 · 19/04/2017 09:50

That's a lovely scan pic luci x
