I had my whopping cough vaccination last night and my arm is so sore today! I booked mine directly through my GP reception.

DaisyQueen · 02/03/2017 09:56

I had mine on Monday at 22+1 and my arm is still quite tender.

LuciBee231015 · 02/03/2017 11:24

Oh so i can just book it myself? I will do it while I'm there tomorrow, I'm seeing her at the GP. Not looking fw to it!

bluebird1235 · 02/03/2017 11:40

Yes - she just told me to book it myself.

rhodes2015 · 02/03/2017 13:00

Daisy, I had my whooping cough vaccine Monday and still feel tender today too!

I also just booked mine with the normal practice nurse at GP.

Notyetthere · 02/03/2017 13:59

Luci yes you can just call your gp practice and get it that way. My midwife mentioned it at the 16 wk appointment and pretty much left it to me to decide when I wanted it. It isnt painful when they do it, it is after about 24hrs when you try to sleep on that side then the pain kicks in

CatRash · 02/03/2017 14:26

I feel a strong urge to start buying stuff - I think the nesting instinct is kicking in! I bought a couple of outfits yesterday but I'm not feeling satisfied.

Has anyone bought a bedside cot yet? I'm leaning towards the SnuzPod but would like to hear what others are going for.

DrewOB0 · 02/03/2017 15:17

My belly feels like it's going to burst, Alien style, the bump also seems very far forward. Anyone know what I mean

Twixes · 02/03/2017 15:24

Not you poor thing, talk about adding insult to injury. I hope you can rest for the day.

I'm going to take back my moan about our childcare costs, Drew 1600 a month for one child is outrageous!

As a second pram for DS I bought a secondhand Bugaboo Bee and I used to like it but it is very rattley. It's hard to know if that's just because of the fact it's secondhand though. It's so easy to get in and out of the car and I'm only 5'0 which was important for me. We'd bought a Babyjogger as our first one and I didn't like that it didn't have parent facing - another reason why I got the Bee.

Looks like I'll need a double this time round and I cannot decide what to do. The Bugaboo Donkey looks lovely but I read it's a bit annoying to get in and out of the boot...anyone need a double or have experience of them??

Notyetthere · 02/03/2017 15:31

Cat you are too late with the urge! If you look back through the threads, several of us gave in to the urge just after the 12wk scan Grin! We have

We bought the snuzpod back January from ebay. It was the only bedside crib that we liked the look of and the wood matched with our bedroom furniture.

OP posts:
Notyetthere · 02/03/2017 15:46

I gave up on fighting the urge to buy things for the baby. The only thing that is limiting me is our budget. Cat have you started on the nursery? How about a decision on the pram/car seat? I know some people wait till way into the 3rd trimester but I don't have the patience. We will be buying the cotbed sometime this month. We are also going to look at carpets on Saturday and probably have the carpet laid next week. I want to spend the 1st few weeks of maternity leave chilling relaxing, walking and buying more things that we don't need

OP posts:
TinklingTheIvories · 02/03/2017 16:11

We've not brought anything yet. Though we were waiting til we've moved. We can buy from next week!! Yay!!!

Think nursery paint will be the first thing, followed closely by nursery furniture, so I can have somewhere to put things once I start buying!! :) really looking forward to it. I've loved seeing what everyone else has brought!

rhodes2015 · 02/03/2017 16:25

cat like not we also gave into the urge and bought a snuzpod after 12week scan, it was either that or chicco next to me which was slightly cheaper but I liked the snuzpod more. We got it in grey and got the cloud snuz bedding aswell.
Our carpet gets fitted on Saturday 11th and I want to spend the day putting cotbed up and chest of drawers and arranging the room! DH is gonna hate me on that day Grin!

Drew, same my skin feels Really stretched now and my bump is very round and feels like it bursting. It's hard to imagine it getting any bigger than it is now but there's still such a long time to go isn't there!

Has anyone got any stretch marks? I've got really itchy tummy and back. Wondering if it's a sign Confused

Lostmyemailaddress · 02/03/2017 16:39

I've got new stretch marks around the side of my bump. The itching can be a sign of the stretching but if it gets any worse then it may be best speaking to the midwife.

Need to rearrange bedrooms now bit house is in chaos as I got the brilliant idea to decorate everywhere. As we have been stripping walls plaster keeps falling off landlord booked in repairs but I'm getting stressed as it will take a week afterwards before we can decorate the rooms and so far there's 4 rooms to be done and I have new flooring coming for 3 of the rooms in the next 4 weeks.
I had my 20 week scan today and all signs are positive we found out baby is a girl bit breech so I'm going to look for ways to get her to turn.

DaisyQueen · 02/03/2017 17:17

I have a few stretch marks under my bump and one though my old piercing. My tummy is also mad itchy and as soon as I get home I lift my top over my bump because all clothing is annoying me at the moment.

Notyetthere · 02/03/2017 17:25

The other thing that got us working on the nursery sooner was DH reasoning that while I'm still mobile I can help out with ideas and small jobs. He reckons in a few weeks from now he will have to do everything as either I will be very slow or not much help.

I don't have the stretch marks yet however, I developed a loads on my thighs, butt and hips when I hit a growth spurt in my early teens. I think they run in our family so while I don't feel the stretching yet, there is still a long way to go so I bet I won't escape them. I am mentally preparing myself.

bluebird1235 · 02/03/2017 17:47

Twixes - I've done quite a lot of research on double buggies for my twins. I narrowed it down to the mountain buggy duet and the bugaboo donkey and eventually decided on the donkey after going to John Lewis to look at both, though haven't bought it yet!

The mountain buggy is cheaper but feels it (hoods don't stay up etc). The cots are very small and the handle doesn't go up that high (DH is 6'7"). I can't remember if you can make the seats parent facing. Pretty sure you can't with the proper seat but I think there's something you can do. It's supposed to be super manoeuvrable and lots of people really rate it but I didn't like it.

The donkey is nice. Never tried to put it in the car so can't comment on that. I don't think it folds up that small but the same is true of many doubles! There are always lots of donkeys on ebay. I like the different seat options, all can be parent facing or one each way and you can get car seat adaptors to clip a car seat in.

Also, I don't remember how old your DC is but the donkey will convert into a single wig a narrow basket on the side for when your older DC wants to walk.

Others I considered: out n about nipper (rather heavy, doesn't work with car seats), baby jogger mini citi (I don't think it does parent facing options and I seem to have written that the handle bar doesn't adjust but maybe I'm mistaken?!). I'm sure there were more but they didn't make it into my spreadsheet!

bluebird1235 · 02/03/2017 17:51

Oh, and my bump is ENORMOUS. Skin feels like it's about to pop. Sometimes I have nightmares about my whole belly just falling off from the massiveness.

bluebird1235 · 02/03/2017 17:54

I forgot to say twixes - I completely disregarded any buggy that wasn't side by side. I don't like the one on top of the other approach for twins as there's always one in a rubbish seat but I think there are more options for a newborn and toddler and might be worth considering if your DC1 is nearly ready to walk everywhere?!

wildone81 · 02/03/2017 18:29

Think we've decided on the halo bassinest for baby sleeping in halobassinest.uk/.

Like that it can go really quite high to help with lifting baby after a section (which it looks like I'll be having) and the swivel function means it easy to menouver round it to get in and out of bed!

Spindelina · 02/03/2017 18:50

We're planning to move DD into a single bed, then put three of the sides back on her cot bed and use it as a sidecar.

CatRash · 02/03/2017 18:51

Bluebird love the fact you had a buggy spreadsheet - great idea!!

Not I know - I'm not sure why I've been like this. Usually I love spending money! Maybe it's the realisation of how poor I'm going to be on SMP!! I planned to measure up once I got home to make sure the SnuzPod will fit our bed and I can't find a tape measure anywhere, which means they're amongst DH's crap in the garage where I don't tend to venture. Oh well will have to wait until he's home - maybe this is why I don't get anything purchased!!!

We've made a start in the nursery...Sort of... I started clearing out the junk hoarded in there....Need new carpet and decorating done before I can put any furniture in so I don't want to buy too much too go in there yet.

I have an idea of what theme I'm going for - neutral, natural colours with a woodland theme.

Rhodes Another vote for the SnuzPod then!! I think we'll be getting it in grey too as it'll match our room. I found a 10% discount code for Cuckooland so should cost about £180. I could get a 2nd one for £140 but an extra £40 is too bad to get the colour I want and with a brand new mattress too!

CatRash · 02/03/2017 19:08

Oooh Wildone not seen that before. We're going to have quite a tight fit thanks to our bedroom being a long rectangle so that might be a good idea. Will have to investigate!!!

Maybe this is why I haven't bought anything yet! There's too much choice.

Lallypopstick · 02/03/2017 20:28

I got a Snuzpod in sherbet. Our bedroom is grey so I wanted something that would complement it.

Twixes · 02/03/2017 21:33

Bluebird I'm impressed, a spreadsheet!! I think we might go for a donkey, they have good resale value anyway. I could sell the Bee we have to put towards it as we don't use it anymore.

I also have stretch marks on my thighs and bum from teenage growth spurts and amazingly I didn't get any with DS and I was huuuuuge. I religiously put on Palmers cocoa butter twice a day though, my sister was the same with DC1, got none and bam! She got a load of them with DC2...I'm trying to do the Palmers regime again this time but I forget sometimes because I've too many other things to think about at the moment...and I'm so tired, so so tired.

I was in bed asleep at 8.30 last night, napped in the afternoon for a while (working from home BlushBlush) and now I'm in bed again
