Purplepants - I'm not so sure I've got super-strong abdominals - I did very little exercise before I was pg and ,well, none at all since getting pg, despite my best intentions! Maybe I have felt movements - I have vague rumbly feelings but I don't know if that's just my digestive system. Everyne keeps telling me it's like a popping or fluttering feeling. I'm sure I'll feel it properly soon.

Loopymumsy - yes my placenta is anterior, I remember that from the 12 week scan. So thatcould be affecting it too.

Mimi- hello, the question of how much I'm wshowing, well I'm in maternity trousers now but still my normal tops, somedays I still just look like I've had a few too many Kitkats and other days I look definitley pg. Depends what top I'm wearing and what time of the day too - seem to get bigger in the evening! Yesterday was the first day someone said to me "Oh, you're starting to show" (though she might have been thinking it for weeks )

RGPargy · 08/06/2007 22:11

hello mimi and welcome!

I'm just starting to show now - i've got more "pronounced" from the side view but i'm still in my normal clothes (just about). Gonna get some new clothes this weekend hopefully.

RG (15+3)

Hi, I have now used my pessarys (nice) and ome cream which has eased the itch. Poor DH has to use the cream too How bad do I feel??!!

The kids are ok, DS has had a throat infection this week, with a raging temp. but is now better. Had to rush to the opticions (sp?) today with Dd1 to get her glasses fixed as she managed to break 2 pairs and was walking into walls. dd2 has finally started to let go at bit and has even let DH take her to school so I can rest.

I have a wedding in 2 weeks and managed to get an ebayer to put a BIN price on a maternity dress for me, and someone else brought it so I had to go through my clothes and see which ones would go over my bump, which has grown in the last week. I managed to find a black and silver dress in my wardrobe that will stretch enough.

I cant believe I am 18 weeks already, its seems to be whizzing pass

littleoldme · 08/06/2007 23:34

Hi - Mimi , great to have you on the thread.

Loopy - Glad someone else is joining RG and I at the end of Nov.

Sparkly - I've got two weddings this summer and I don't have a clue what to wear. i've got some comfy smart black mat trousers so i think I'll try my luck at Primani for a floaty top. People rave about ' popular auction sites' but I gave up after having two consecutive bad experiences. I'd rather pay full price and not have the hassle.

I ordered some mat stuff over the net . I told DH that I looked at some pretty pictures, pressed some buttons and people brought me pressies. He held his head in hands and started wailing. He's gone away for weekend.

Mrs J - very impressed with your culinary efforts.

RGPargy · 09/06/2007 09:44

SGK - time's flying for me too!! Amazing isn't it!!!

Pixiefish · 09/06/2007 16:50

I bought the Phil and ted's from Mothercare a few weeks ago Purplepants. They had it on offer as it was last year's model but the differences are miniscule.

sparklygothkat · 09/06/2007 20:27

before we know it, it will be the summer holidays and then back to school, after that, time will fly by.
I have been feeling some strong movements, but DH hasn;t felt anything yet.
I hate this muggy heat, I am uncomfortable and grumpy. I also have no summer maternity clothes.

Hi, thanks for the welcomes. Well, having not showed at all up to 17 weeks(apart from me noticing I'd put on weight), my stomach just suddenly seemed to pop out last week and now I feel massive! It's not how I expected as it's my upper tummy that seems to be sticking out as well as my lower tummy where the baby is. I'm panicking that I've put on too much weight already (9lb) as I've been craving and eating lots of carbs since I got pg. I guess everyone is different though... Have a good start of the week everyone.
Mimi

littleoldme · 10/06/2007 22:24

Panic not Mimi - mostly because if you do I'll have too. I've put on the same amount of weight although I am trying to keep exercising. I'm craving carbs too - if you crave it, you need it. I've decided to believe at least half of weight is water retention. Feel free to join me in my delusions .

Bring on the school hols I say. But then I am a teacher.

Sparkly - I hate the heat too. My internal thermostat has gone mental and I'm hot all the time - and not in a good way . The DH is currently assembling a fan which I'm plonking by the bed.

The DH has decided to move old sofa ( just been given a better one]. Having gouged chunks out of the plaster in the stairwell ,he's decided to put in the kitchen where there is no room. To combat this he's apparantly going to take the legs off our large but broken table and put them on a smaller table top (again given - we hoard things) which is the garage. This means we will have a table that is too small, and old uncomfortable sofa that we don't need and holes in the plaster.

Am I being a bit hormonal ?

RGPargy · 10/06/2007 23:05

Mimi - i am EXACTLY the same!! I've put on about half a stone (at the last brave weigh-in) and my midriff also seems to be sticking out too. I've done nothing but eat carbs since i got pg so i wouldn't be surpised if this was the reason (i was a low-carber before).

As for exercise, well i keep promising myself i will do some, but i end up not being arsed to do anything more strenuous than sitting on the laptop talking on MN lol.

Oh well, back to the grindstone after Xmas, yeah?

sparklygothkat · 11/06/2007 00:19

Baby has been kicking like a good un tonight, DH actually managed to feel it slightly. I am still hot and uncomfortable, everything is sticking to me, and I hate it.

purplepants · 11/06/2007 08:09

Morning all
sparkly - I'm the same - this heat's hideous isn't it - and it's not even that hot yet!!!. I'm hoping that this summer isn't going to be as hot as last. The temperature in DS's bedroom didn't go below 28 for 2 weeks so I may have to move to my mums on the coast to escape

littleoldme - lol at your DH moving everything around - sounds like he's the one being hormonal (in sympathy? )

Mimi - hi there - the high bulge is the baby shoving your intestines up before they sort themselves out - or so I've been told - and it suits me to believe that it's not actually the vast amounts of food I've been stuffing myself with (more cake anyone? )

tonysmum · 11/06/2007 09:50

Good morning all
Can I get some advice please? DH, DS and I went house-hunting on saturday, saw a beautiful 4 bedroom house near Airdrie (Scotland) and decided to put a deposit on it. The problem is they are still building it and it will not be ready until late October/beginning of November, and I am due 6th November! They said they could either rush things a bit and have the house ready mid October or delay it a bit to late November.
What do you think is best, to move when heavily pregnant or wait until the baby is born??

purplepants · 11/06/2007 10:25

Hi tonysmum - I'd be inclined to move before the baby comes - IMO people are more likely to cut you some slack & help, whereas once the LO arrives they forget just how tired you are & that you still need lots of support. You're due the same day as me btw!

tonysmum · 11/06/2007 10:55

Thanks for your reply purplepants, I think I would prefer that too, I was late with my DS (induced 8 days after the due date) but you never know!

pinklady82 · 11/06/2007 11:07

Hi all, am hoping to join this thread- 2nd baby due nov 4th really excited can not wait. on the other hand ds who is 2 is constantly waking in the night and only wanting mummy then up ready to play at 5.30am! am absolutely exhausted!! any advise?

RGPargy · 11/06/2007 12:02

Hi pinklady!

Welcome to the thread!!

As for your DS, i do really sympathise but dont think i can offer any advice at this stage i'm afraid - it's been about 15 years since i ws in that situation (my DS is now 17!).

I'm sure someone will be along shortly with some very good advice for you.

Congrats on your pg!!

Mimi13 · 11/06/2007 13:10

Sorry to hear that some of you are feeling the heat - hope you cool down soon.
Thanks for the messages about weight - it somehow makes me panic less to know I'm not alone! RG Pargy - not sure to wait until after Christmas to try to lose weight or to try to start as I mean to go on straight away. I guess we'll have to wait to see how we feel - not sure my will power to resist Christmas pudding will be up to much when I will be too tired to think before putting it in my mouth!
Tony's mum - good luck with whatever you decide about your move. Just remember that it will all work out in the end, and I hope you have plenty of people on hand to offer their help to you. Lots of my friends moved a few days before they were due - it was a bit stressful at the time, but they are all really happy and settled now.
I am moving in 3 weeks from a 1-bed flat with no outside space to a 3-bed house with garden, so excited!
Mimi x

RGPargy · 11/06/2007 13:28

Hi Mimi

Yeah i am trying to eat more healthy stuff now, but by the end of the day there's always something that makes me fall off the wagon!!

I only said after Christmas because i know what i'm like at Christmas and it'll be just hopeless to try and diet then! Plus my baby will only be a month old so i wont be able to even contemplate anything other than trying to get some sleep lol.

sparklygothkat · 11/06/2007 13:42

I have only put on a 1lb in weight should I worry??

RGPargy · 11/06/2007 16:05

You should only worry about the envy from the rest of us SGK!!

purplepants · 11/06/2007 16:36

lol RGPargy - just what I was thinking

Sparkly - you probably lost some with the morning sickness though so I wouldn't worry too much. Mention it to your mw though if you really are worried.
