Just found out I am expecting first week in Nov...too early to start a thread?? Anyone else out there?

I am new to the thread and I am expecting my second baby, due 6th November. I already have a wee boy, he will be 3 in August and according to the Chinese calendar it is going to be a girl this time
I will join the roll call if you don't mind:

Congratulations tonysmum on your second pg. I have the same due date as you - according to my LMP, 4th Nov according to the scan so maybe it will be in the middle and be a Bonfire Night baby. Or most probably it won't arrive on any of those dates.

You're all very organised having your scan dates, I haven't phoned up to make my appointment for it yet. I'm 20 weeks the week of 18th June, which is also my birthday, so I could have it on my birthday.

Thanks very much AnnainNZ, up here in Falkirk they are very busy with ante-natal appointments, I had my first scan at 14 weeks and had to go to Stirling for it because there was no room nearby , so for the 5 month scan I made sure I booked early.
My birthday is 19th June by the way!

Ah, over here in NZ you can pretty much phone up and get a scan in a day or two's time - this is because you pay for them. All essential pg treatment is free but strictly speaking scans aren't seen as essential as you could go through pg and not have one. The first one cost us 50 dollars which is about 20 quid. I think the next one will cost more as we're having a 3D one.

morning all - isn't the time flying!!! I had my GTT last week & my reading, though within normal range, was slightly higher than ideal so I've got to go again in a month or so I will be so peeved if I get diabetes again - just hope that if I do I can control it with diet again (though I was so close to having to inject ) anyone else have this problem?

SGK you are so lucky to have a small bump (and strong stomach muscles!!) I'm mahooosive!!

Greeting lovely ladies. Glad to hear is going well with bumps. We've just come back from a fantasic week away in Wales. I feel thoroughly refreshed. I also seem to have developed a significant bump. Glad to know I'm actually having a baby and don't just have some strange energy draining vomming disease.

Thanks very much for the welcoming messages. I am also back from a holiday to the Canary Islands, my 2yo had a great time but I found it very tiring, it was probably the heat. People started asking me how far along I was so I guess I have developed a noticeable bump as well

AnnainNZ - there is nothing organised about my life right now. My scan was booked for me when I went for 12 week scan. If I had to be proactive about it, it would still be on my to-do list.

If I was organised enough to have a to-do list that is...

Hope everyone enjoyed the sun this weekend. We had a lovely couple of days outdoors going to parks. DH got one of those Mr Whippy ice creams and I so wanted one but I think pregnant women are meant to avoid them.

Hello all, especially the newer people Sorry I haven't posted in a while, just didn't feel like I had much to say, things have been pottering along without much change! I have been checking up on you all though, don't worry I've also got a fairly noticeable bump now, although it seems to vary in size quite a lot! Depending on what I'm wearing, first thing in the morning it's only big enough for people who know me pretty well to notice, but some days by the end of the day I REALLY look pregnant! Slightly worrying for 4months, I'm a bit nervous what I'll be like by the end I'm quite small (as in short, not skinny!) so when I told one of my friends I was having a baby she laughed and said "You're going to look ENORMOUS when you're term!" Slightly cheeky of her, but I know what she meant.

The other thing that's happened gradually over the past couple of weeks for me is I'm finally fairly sure I can feel the baby move! Such a relief. Though it's still so gentle I can only really feel it if I'm sitting still, and then it's not that regular, so I might only notice it 2-3 times a day. It's such a nice reminder that there's actually a little life in there

Amazing how close a lot of our scans are!

I think I can feel the baby move as well, not very often and it is totally different from the first one, it was very gentle with him, like butterflies, with number 2 is more like proper tapping and kicking . Anybody else feel the same?

no movement that I can recognise yet but I know baby is kicking away like billy-o from the scan. Can't remmeber scan date- will add myself when I've had a look

I can definitely feel him now!!!! Very gentle, and only once every other day....first I wasn't sure what it is, but it MUST be him, I'm convinced now.... feels a bit like tiny bubbles below my belly button?!?
Quick question, does anyone know if the baby can hear yet?? I bought this musical toy which I keep playing to him, but not sure if his ears are working yet? The other day I felt him after I played him the music, but that might have been a coincidence....

PC whatever it is has come back clear for no foetal abnormalities in the first set of tests.

They rang me at 4.55 to tell me.

What other tests are you hasving? (you mentioned that5 this was a first set of tests?)

Deffo lots of movement here. I was feeling this one a lot earlier (about 15 wks) but probably only because it's my third (and all my fat being higher up [blush). I can feel he/she is about a hand span long too.

purplepants- the amnio tests were the fast pcr one to test for downs, edwards and trisonmy 18. There are other tests that will be done on the amnio but they take longer

Pixiefish - Hurray! Congrats! Hope you feel you can relax a bit more now

GermanGal and tonysmum - Yeah I sort of feel a gentle tap or single bubble-like movement a bit like you both describe. Quite different from the 'fluttering' and 'butterflies' that some people had described to me, so at first I wasn't sure that it was the baby! But there's been a fair bit more of it today, so I'm feeling more confident

Fantastic news pixiefish, you must be so relieved.

I haven't felt any movement yet, not that I can tell is definitely the baby! But I heard the heartbeat at the doctor's last Friday and all was fine.
