I've got that as well geekgirl. Like a dragging I spose. I'm sure I had that with dd as well

loopyredangel · 04/03/2007 22:07

Just found out we are pregnant, a bit scared though, have got a dodgy pelvis from my first child, and worried sick about what's going to happen, but quite excited at the same time! Anybody here having a second child and feel differently after finding out they are pregnant a second time?

Pixiefish · 05/03/2007 07:57

loopy- i'm a bit scared as to how dd will react and how this will affect her. She has been the center of my world up till now and I don't want to lose the bond we have

MamanFlo · 05/03/2007 08:49

Hi Pixie

I think the same way about my daughter too, and she's just at the age of trying to push my limits... I am a bit lost TBH... how old is yours ?

iris66 · 05/03/2007 09:05

morning everyone - seems like valentines night was a patrticularly special one for quite a few of us, looking at due dates!
loopy - have you tried pilates for your pelvis? I had the beginnings of PSD last pg & went to a physio who twisted everything back into place then gave me some really simple exercises to do to strengthen all the supporting muscles - it made a huge difference (even to my pelvic floor!)

MamanFlo · 05/03/2007 09:25

My group on the french forum is called "the valentinnettes" just for this reason

iris66 · 05/03/2007 09:42

aw - that's lovely

loopyredangel · 05/03/2007 09:59

I am worried about the bond thing with my DS he is 18 months at the moment and will be 2 and 2 months when next baby is born, I know what you mean about worrying how your first is going to react, I am going to make sure that DS gets involved as much as possible so he doesn't feel left out.

My pelvis problem went a stage further and the gap was quite large, now have wear and tear on it, andthey were talking about an op to fix it.

iris66 · 05/03/2007 10:12

ouch!

iris66 · 05/03/2007 10:15

DS will be 22mths when this LO appears. I'm just hoping that he will be going to bed, without an hour of rocking, and sleeping through by then! My bigger concern is DD TBH. She'll have just left for uni and, despite her age I worry she'll feel a bit "replaced" as it took her a while to get used to me having DS after having me to herself for so long!

becaroo · 05/03/2007 14:13

My ds will be nearly 4.5 when the LO arrives. Bit worreid, for the same reasons as most of you...hope he isnt too jealous and stressed by it all.
Have seen some childrens books at amazon.co.uk that seem like a good introduction to pregnancy and a sibling so will order those at some point.
The only symtoms so far are a bit of nausea and a period like ache. I seem to remember having that before.
(The nausea might have something to do with the fact I ate a jaffa cake that was 14 months past its best before date at MILs on saturday.

Dd will be 3y9months.

Yep, near Valentine's lol but not quite. We were just about to give up and had made no effort really this month but obviously we did something right :D

spinach · 05/03/2007 22:08

I'm another nov 06 bod. my dd was born 4th nov...and is 4 months, totally adorable and georgous. Just wanted to wish you all happy and healthy pregnancies.... good luck to you all...xxx

iris66 · 07/03/2007 10:46

spinach thanks for your kind thoughts (and to everyone else who's visited from other threads

Anyone else feeling really bloated already?! Don't know whether my abdominal muscles have just slumped in anticipation but I'm definately stodgier round the middle (in fact i noticed it before I knew I was pg & was mentally preparing for a burst of going to the gym - so glad I can give it a miss now Though it does fuel my concern over having twins

Rachpuk · 07/03/2007 10:48

Hi All

I'm newly pregnant and new to this board. Good luck to everyone. I've got my fingers & toes crossed. Am so excited but it all still seems a bit surreal.

Rach

geekInPigtails · 07/03/2007 11:40

Hi Rachpuk, welcome! Know what your EDD is yet?

iris, I'm not feeling particularly more bloated than usual, but I am a bit constipated! (sorry, TMI!) Not badly, just noticeably. I'm going to make a concerted effort to drink more water and eat lots of fibre in the next week to see if that sorts it out.

Also, saw my GP this morning to check whether there were any problems with me taking the steroids and antihystemines that I'm normally on for asthma and excema. She said it would be good to try to cut them down as much as possible, so I'm going also going to make more effort to find time to exercise - somehow my allergies seem to be better if I'm fitter, and I guess it's not a bad idea to try to strengthen my tummy muscles while I still can!

GP sent my referral to the ante-natal clinic and said that my next appointment would be with a midwife at 12 weeks - that seems like AGES away!!!

mumto3girls · 07/03/2007 14:34

Hi

I got my BFP today...my cycles have been a bit erratic of late ( anywhere from 29-34 days)...i got a neg on day 29 and a bfp today on day 34..so not exactly sure how to work out due date....

Congrats everyone!

FCH · 07/03/2007 16:51

I'm soooo tired by about 2 o clock. tend to be in bed by 9 most evenings. I don't rememebr being this tired this early on with dd

mishmash2 · 08/03/2007 15:38

Hello to you all! I am also due on 2nd Nov with number 2. I have a gorgeous son who is now 18 months old and such a little monster - I just don't quite know how I will cope with two like that!! Let's hope it is a girl as they are meant to be much quieter!! I am feeling quite tired and feel enormous already - not fun at all! I put on 3 stone during my last pregnancy so will make sure I don't eat all the pies this time around!!

geekInPigtails · 08/03/2007 16:14

Hello mishmash, FCH and mumto3! Good to see the numbers rising on here now!

becaroo, sorry you're feeling rubbish already. I've heard various tips on reducing the nausea but I've no idea how good any of them are. Let us know if you find anything that works for you! I've only noticed the occasional faint queasiness so far, but it's early days (I'm a bit nervous about it actually).

By the way, after a few people mentioned a desire for one, I created an ante-natal club thread specifically for people expecting their first DC (like me!). So if any of you would like to say hello on there too, that would be fab! Here's the link

becaroo · 08/03/2007 18:06

Congratulations mishmash2.

Geekinpigtails....I suppose eating 6 hobnobs one after the other could account for the nausea!

So great to see so many on here already...

SparklyGothKat · 08/03/2007 19:02

hello!! I due 12th nov. Found out I am pregnant about 1 1/2 weeks ago. We kept it to ourselves for a while, as I had a collapsed Ectopic pregnancy in Jan. I feel sick and tired all the time. I have a GP appointment on the 12th, where they will refer me to the EPU to get scanned at 6 weeks, to check that this one is in the correct place.
This is my 6th pregnancy but I only have 3 kids, I lost a baby in '99 too.

KB75 · 08/03/2007 20:22

FCH I cant believe another first timer on Nov 1! Very exciting.
We told my parents this week and they are so excited - first grandchild - I think my mother is more excited than I am actually because to me it doesnt seem real yet.
Some queasiness and nearly always in bed by 9 but not so much worse than just a bad week at work! I hope it stays this easy but something tells me it won't...
