It's done MrsJ. I was umming and arghing. The consultant did a scan and told me that from what he sees the baby didn't have any of the soft markers BUT that wasn't to say anything and the only conclusive way was the amnio. The midwife and consultant were absolutely lovely and said I could wait 3 weeks until my 20 week scan and then have an amnio if that showed anything but I really don't think I can cope with not knowing for 3 weeks.

I also said that I didn't think I could go through with a termination unless it was incompatible with life so i feel a bit better now.

Trying to work out who you are MrsJ- mmmmm

HollyGoHeavily · 29/05/2007 14:44

I've just had a trip to the doctors. I was really ill on Sunday night and spent about an hour throwing up. When I woke up on Monday morning I had a wierd rash on my jaw and neck - like load of tiny red pinpricks. The doctor thinks that i threw up so violently on Sunday that i burst some of the blood vessels in my face and this is a 'heaving rash' - nice! He's going to do some tests on the blood I gave at a Mdwife appointment 2 weeks ago to see if there is anything wrong with the platelets in my blood. He said it should just go away by itself over the next few days. I hope it does because I must look contagious!

Afternoon all,

Pixie - you poor thing - pregnancy is so stressful as it is without another pile of worries loaded on for good measure. Are you going to wait 3 weeks then for the amnio?

MrsJetson - you dark horse. Who could you be...? Don't think we have much chance of working it out considering that our brains have shrunk by 8% - apparently.

And Holly - what can I say??!!! They never tell you about heaving rash in the pregnancy books!!! It will never cease to amaze me the weird and wonderful side effects pregnancy can cause.

I have had a hectic weekend organising 2 birthday parties for my DS's 2nd birthday. One at my mum's and one at the in-law's. Both went really well but all that cooking and organising have taken they're toll. Am exhausted today.

20 week scan is 3 weeks today. Can't wait!

sparklygothkat · 29/05/2007 17:14

I think I know who MrsJ is... I am pretty sure actually

MrsJetson · 29/05/2007 17:14

Pixie!! I've been checking to see if you were back yet! Good news re the no soft markers, and VERY good news that you had a lovely Doc and MW, it probably put you a little more at ease.

Sorry that you have to wait another 3 weeks before the amnio, we're all here for you to rant at if you need to...!

Sorry if it I appear to intrusive but if you don't want to have a temination IF there was anything (which there won't!) - is it not an option to NOT have the amnio?

I was thinking about you this morning because I ahd a scan too - the sonographer scared us completely by asking a LOT of questions about the baby's movements, how, when, for how long etc..We asked why and she replied "if there is anything wrong I'll write it in the report when I've finished. . Another 40 minutes and she said no all is fine. She couldn't tell the sex so we are still 98% it's a girl.

Holly - good grief you must have been REALLY sick to have burst blood vessels! Poor you!

sparklygothkat · 29/05/2007 17:20

mrsj. Can i guess who you are??

MrsJetson · 29/05/2007 17:23

only if you promise not to tell!!!!

choudru · 29/05/2007 17:24

Sparkly - I just worked it out too!

This is like being on krypton factor...

Hehehe...

sparklygothkat · 29/05/2007 17:25

well, is it 'peaing' down with rain where you are??

choudru · 29/05/2007 17:27

LOL

I'm off to go listen to my IPOD now...

sparklygothkat · 29/05/2007 17:45

are we right??

MrsJetson · 29/05/2007 17:47

oh you two are far too clever!!!

Peeved because I had to change, bugger the stalkers - MrsJ is not very inspiring I know, best of a bad choice. I used to have a fab name about 18 months ago but I changed my email address etc etc and completely forgot about so now I can't get it back.

Just realised that I will only have 3 more weeks of regular mn'ing as we will be back in the UK scooting around buying furniture etc etc... Could possibly have the odd peak in to see how you all are but definitely be back in August.

sparklygothkat · 29/05/2007 17:50

It was quite easy, not many of us are on 3+.
What did you say to be stalked?

Pixiefish · 29/05/2007 18:30

MrsJ and choudra- I had the amnio this morning. The doctor was so lovely and i trusted him to do it.

He was fab. After the amnio he said that his personal mc rate is half the national average so 1 in 200. He also told me that there is a Prof in Kings College who tells woment hat the risk has passed once he's taken the needle out- I don't know but anyway. It's done.

I had the amnio incase the baby has Edwards more than anything else.

I feel much better now. Even if it comes back as a positive I am clear in my mind.

Had a lovely chat with a friend this afternoon- she was a nurse in special care so I was able to banter with her- also she has no personal involvement really so no emotions as such.

Pixiefish · 29/05/2007 18:31

I had thought that you were that person MrsJ- purely from the stats of the babies you have.

MrsJetson · 29/05/2007 18:49

Pixie - glad you had a chat with your friend!

I made a comment about one of the discount partners who in turn sent me a letter at home. MNHQ didn't pass on my info, the org. sussed me out - MNHQ alerted them that someone had complained about them. I just had the feeling that the org. would be reading my posts knowing exactly who I was, my DH and DC's. Maybe pregnancy paranoia but it really pissed me off!!!

Pixiefish · 29/05/2007 20:57

Bit naughty of them to do that really but I had that a couple of years ago when i complained on a post about a company. A couple of people told the company nad they got really nasty. They posted on the thread and sent me an email threatening legal action.

Is your bother sorted now then MrsJ

AnnainNZ · 30/05/2007 06:29

Yay, computer working again after about three weeks out of action.

Guess I'll do the roll call thing too...

MrsJetson · 30/05/2007 10:04

Hi Anna - how's NZ?

Forgot to mention that after the scan yesterday and all of the comments about a huge baby and possibility of gestational diabetes etc - the baby is bang on target for dates - growing nicely - and kicking hell out of me at the same time. Anyone else with flutterings/beatings???

About 5 months to go ebfore we can all start to get excited about having these litlte ones. Wonder who'll be first?

sparklygothkat · 30/05/2007 10:34

I have a strong feeling it will be me first, possibly in sept/oct. I have had all my babies earlier, the earliest being dd1 at 31 weeks, the latest at 35 week (DS) Dd2 was 33 weeks, so if I disappear in sept you know why.

MrsJetson · 30/05/2007 10:36

wow. I think you had mentioned that before but wow. I have no idea - they have been - 6 days late, 4 days early and 10 days late! mmmmmm bang on date would be good - it's my Dad's b'day! Mind you the 18th is my FIL's - so either way.....

sparklygothkat · 30/05/2007 10:37

I will of course get Misdee to post if I do have the baby early as I will be in hospital with baby for a while
