OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think will i make an appt with the nurse. My doctor is a young man - would just die if i had to see him! Cant remember if i said, but i mentioned you in a round about way to Zena Chaddock (my mw at Crondall) and she thinks she knows who you might be.... Its such a small world!

Dh recons that Petersfield is half way, but i dont think there is much there. I dont mind coming down to Portsmouth and meeting somewhere near you.

They should definately open KK coffee shops!

Evening all. Was at Hypnobirthing all day today. DH has taken to calling it Hippo Burping so we struggled not to laugh out loud when one of the women in the birth videos was HUUAAAGGGEEE and making animal noises. How bad are we?

Really good class though. It's all very positive and lovely. The birth videos were amazing. I mean, most of the women looked like they were asleep, even when they were pushing. Quite extraordinary. The main thing I'm pleased about is that I felt really out of control when I had DD, not helped by the G&A, but not in control of what was happening to me and I didn't like it one bit. This programme puts you in total control of your body.

Teacher was very sweet too and said I could bring DD next week as DH is supposed to be away on business. Said it might help her be less anxious about me giving birth in the house. If DH definitely goes then I will offer her, but I think she might be bored.

Glad all ok Scooter and with you LG&T. I finish work on Mar 30th and have a class on the Saturday, but I expect I could come down on the train on Sunday, if that's any help.

Great news about the potty training anneme.

largeginandtonic · 04/03/2007 20:38

Good so thats settled then, 3 massively pregnant women emptying out my massively over stuffed store room to hoick out baby clothes

The class sounds fab TYG, how long does it take you to get in to the trance likr hypno mode, im thinking longer than 10 mins, no? Probably not for me then......does sound fab though.

Someone is selling a birth in abox, unused for 30 squids, saw the thread earlier if anyone is interested?

Wathched the birth programmes form SKYTV and dh was open mouthed! He said it doesnt look soooo bad, WTF??? This baby is just going to have to stay put.

Im also posting on a Jonah name thread, someone is dissing my sons name!!!!! Calling it very unlucky and why would someone do that to a child. Grrrrrrrr

twelveyeargap · 04/03/2007 20:55

I saw the thread title LG&T. Decided not to look in case I got cross on your behalf!

I was almost asleep within about 4 mins and was drifting in and out of the relaxation "exercises". The other woman actually WAS asleep by the end. We went into a room on our own at the end and DH was supposed to be reading the relaxation "script" to me to relax me. Surprise, surprise, we both got the giggles and could barely breathe. I think it needs some practise.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 04/03/2007 21:32

It's all aload of rubbsh, lg&t, I'm not big on name meanings, if you like it use it, how many times would you say "Catherine of pure" yeah right.........; Like you are going to use the meaning! Not posting that on the thread though, I might get ripped apart,

AM, Pleeeeeeeease go to the dr's.........

TYG, lol at calling it Hippo Burping. Not sure it's for me either. Not very good at the whole get your head round something.

Dare I ask, WTF is a birth in box????????

largeginandtonic · 04/03/2007 23:02

Unfortunately not a box that gives birth for you.....

Its a birthing pool in a box, looks fab. I quite fancy it myself but as i will almost def be going in to hosp now it's not for me. I wander if Derriford (hosp in Plym) has a birth pool, must look in to that. Must also go to bed, have been watching Despreate Housewives.

Night all xxxx

new thread

Some hospitals allow you to bring an inflatable pool with you, if they can't guarantee there will be a birth pool available to you. My midwife said she found the La Bassine/ Made in Water pools better as instead of having inflatable "rings" like a paddling pool, the inflatable bits are vertical columns so it gives more support and if by some chance on bit bursts, there water won't leak out - the rest of the pool will support the water until you can empty it a bit.

I also like the look of it becuase it's a lovely calm blue colour and looks cosier.

There's a "client list" on this birth pool website which lists Derriford as a client. Client List

It never occurred to me that you couldn't have the home birth. Where will you be staying? Will it just be too weird to give birth in someone else's house or are you finding it hard to get a midwife?
