Afternoon All

Oh dear god there's a November thread already! Where is the time going? Everytime a new antenatal thread starts time feels like it's going by so fast yet I'm still here in what feels like the longest period of my life. It's hard to explain but time seems to be going by so fast yet my pregnancy seems to be going very slow, if that makes any sense

Had an awful nights sleep. I'd be too hot one minute too cold the next. Bump kept getting in the way making it impossible to get comfy. When I finally managed to drift of I'd wake up and have to throw myself out of bed in a fit of pain due to leg cramps. My hands kept going to sleep so that I'd wake up thinking I had no hands and smack myself in the face. Then when all this settled my drunk flatmates all came in screaming and singing at 4 this morning. All this = a very cranky LW!

Feeling very strange today, don't know what to do with myself. And I'm feeling very heavy now as well. Sweet and sour chicken was scrummy last night and have some left over so will reheat later - yum yum! Is anyone else finding it difficult to finish a meal? Not through lack of hunger but through lack of space? I get full up really quickly now, but am still hungry - I just can't fit anymore in! Oh joy to the next 3 months!

Hope your all enjoying your saturdays

LupinsBigLump · 03/03/2007 14:57

LW rest up today hun xx I had pants night sleep as well, as for eating - yes cant finish meal end up eating lots of cereal and yoghurt and various times during the evening - 9pm is cereal time most defiantly

It is sooooo quiet here with no dog whining in my ear, dd is asleep again bless her cottons, and dp is on his pc again bless him, oh yeah and im on mine - differance being I am raising money for crib ebay parcels are all packed up - well the ones that have bothered to pay - so I can now pay lovely lady for crib - I am really proud of myself I have only been buying stuff when I have the money in paypal from stuff I have sold - well except pushchair and sheets altho technically I am not paying for pushchair

Anyway off to reload tummy again, lo is very low and heavy today, need to get food in quick before he moves up again and squishes my stomach

aprilmeadow · 03/03/2007 15:34

What a beautiful day!

MrsJB - C is very pleased that HIS parcel arrived with you this morning .

Good news..... i have a lovely new car that i am picking up at the end of the week (fingers crossed) so the drive to France in the summer will be a comfy one! Gone for a '06 reg Ford C-Max. Boot is huge compared to my fiesta and i can fit my p&t in without having to remove a wheel. Spent nearly 2hours looking at focus's mondeo's and c-max's.

Lupins - there isnt a KK place in the Oracle but there is a Millies cookies so that might be a good substitute.... Will i need to put a 2nd car seat in my car for Monday?

Off into town now as struggled putting my trainers on this morning so am thinking that i need some slip on flat shoes and also need to get some more trousers as my jeans are too tight and i only have smart work skirts/trousers that fit. Ho hum i guess there isnt too long to wait now so i wont go too mad!

Hello everyone
what a nice day. went for walk with DS and he was lovely and met friends and they all played and it all felt like it should do (as opposed to having regular arguments about being carried/hungry etc)

Thank you so much all of you for advice re bedwetting. DS is 3 1/2 so is still quite young but that hasn't made it easier to deal with! However, last night he woke at 5 (which is better) and also weed on carpet which sounds negative but was positive because it meant that he was trying to get to the loo (our house must STINK!). Good think about him waking at 5 is it means he can almost get through the night....have instigated a star chart which i am not that keen on but have decided to see if it works. If we have a few nights when it doesnt then I will rethink because I dont want him to feel like a failure iyswim.
Heee hee - I'm having a lie in tomorrow - have already booked it with DH!!! Who - to be fair is v good about this kind of thing. I bet i wake at 6.30 and can't get back to sleep.

LupinsBigLump · 03/03/2007 18:42

AM I think it is coming soon, lookd on the website defo says oracle reading but times to be confirmed, no dont need car seat - dd should be at preschool but if she is still a bit under the weather then i have spare one here - anyway millies or hotel chocolate will do nicely

Anneme well done on ds making it till 5, dd is 4.5 if thats any conselation(sp)

aprilmeadow · 03/03/2007 19:10

How cool if they do have a KK in Reading! Hmmm dribbling at the thought of it

LupinsBigLump · 03/03/2007 19:49

hehehe looking forward to it - have you tried hotel chocolate?

Lwatkins · 03/03/2007 20:03

Midwife came and took blood from me Think it is the most pain I've been in for taking blood. Have really crap veins that never wanna pop out so when she finally managed to get one and stick the needle in I soon realised that it's in a really awkward place and I cant bend my arm now and it bruised instantly! Oh well, will have to eat another chocolate muffin to (ahem), ease the pain.......

scootermum · 04/03/2007 08:40

Morning all,
Have had a very busy weekend thus far.DD had her ultrasound on Friday and all well with her kidneys which is a huge relief..She just has to go back to the peadiatrician in four weeks to be looked over again and then hopefully the all clear..she has got a disgustingly runny nose and a little cough again though, but thats par for the course!
Spent the rest of Friday deep cleaning the house and re glossing some worn bits of paint-we had a viewing yesterday and its the open day next weekend so wanted to get it all done in time for that..Our neighbours have put their house on the market, for 70k more than ours! Its got a very slightly bigger yard and a conservatory more than ours but 70 k is a bit absurd..but is does seem a shame to be in competition with them in a way..
DH finally got round to tidying up our front garden yesterday.I have been asking him to do it for 18 months, as it was the shame of the village and he kept saying it would take him too long and cost too much.It took him 3 hours and cost £30.And after that he whined that he was exhausted. He is getting on my nerves tbh this weekend!
Went to see a few houses yesterday but nothing great.Might have to widen our search.Thinking of looking in Essex as due to the absurd snob factor you get alot more for your money.Essex border is all of 3 miles from us anyway and both dds born/to be born in Harlow anyway so they are Essex girls already!I dont give a monkeys really but people round here are so funny about it.I was the only woman from my NCT class/bumps and babes group to have the baby at Harlow.Everyone else went to Welwyn Garden city, even though its alot further away, just so they could have their kids in Hertfordshire!Madness.I got the last laugh though because Harlow hosp much newer and nicer in my opinion!
We are taking dd to adventure castle today which is a sort of indoor soft play centre. She was up at 6 hwr and then dh has managed to feed her a large amount of pain au chocolat so she is manic at the moment and may not be in the mood for soft play by the time we get there!

Hope all are well today..
LW glad your parcel got there ok, clothes any good for you?
Thats quite exciting re the police activity pebble..there was once a sort of riot on our st when we lived in Tottenham. It was like living in an episode of the Bill!

Well better get up, dh is downstairs with dd and is grumbling as he is still tired after his exertions of yesterday.Im gritting my teeth and saying nothing-I cant be bothered with the arguement, but I bet I could out whinge him if I wanted!
Happy Sunday all..

Creena · 04/03/2007 12:06

Hullo all!

Scooter - so glad to hear that everything is well with your DD. Such a relief.

LG&T - I like your name choices! They are so cool. Sadly, my DH is very 'traditional' when it comes to names and the like and has already been through my list crossing things out! Even my top name choice for a boy or girl has been ruled out; I had wanted Eoin for a boy and Mitzi (after my mum) for a girl. DH has emphatically ruled them both out. He's ruled out most of my shortlist now, to be honest and I'm not sure how I feel about the ones he has 'ticked' as possibilities. So far, for a girl, we've got: Ava, Clara, Lily or Lydia. For a boy we've got: Henry. Which I'm not all that keen on. I just can't imagine cooing the name Henry over a little baby! So I'm back to the drawing board again, I feel. I'll bet whatever I come up with on a new list will end up crossed out too!

Anyway. Might try and go out and about somewhere today. Feeling a bit bored and cooped up at home. Laundry and ironing (as important as it is) just doesn't appeal today...

Mrsjaffabiffa · 04/03/2007 12:13

Morning all..........

Spring cleaning today, the sun is out again, so it must be spring. God my cream leather sofa's were disgusting. One is now cream again after very much scrubbing and the other is still a muky grey colour.

Glad all is well scooter,

Creena I like your names, not soooooo keen on Lydia but still pretty. Henri Jorge will probably be our boys name, it's between that and Charlie at the moment but the French say Henri much better than Charlie. The name thing is such a nightmare, I don't really like it.

largeginandtonic · 04/03/2007 12:22

Happy sunday everyone, i am not happy however. Just dropped dh back at the station Not sure when he will get home again, at worst the kids break up for Easter hols on 30th March and that (hopefully) is when i relocate to Plymouth till the baby is born. It is only 3 weekends on my own if he cant get home. Not too bad i suppose. im a bit bothered by the fact that i will have to take everything to Plym for the baby though. It is all packed away in boxes at the back of our very full store cupboard! I may have to haul it all out if he cant get home before

Lwatkins try and snooze today, when do you finish at uni?

Scooter hope dh improves, leave little notes around listing all the things you have done with ticks next to them. He will think you are being very organised whilst realising you are doing loads!

I had to phone the out of hours doc yesterday as i discovered an ahem, lump in my nether regions. Just inside to my right, a small lump white in colour. Was panicked thinking the worst, doc was very nice though and said it sounds like a Bartholins gland. Apparently with all the extra progesterone in my blood stream it can make them swell up, sometimes they get infected too. Mine doesnt hurt so he says it is probably just enlarged due to hormones but to go and see the doc on monday to be sure. Good grief you would think with this being baby #6 i would have had it before, new bloody things should be banned by now surely?!

Hugs was up being sick all night too, he seems ok this morning just tired and a bit clingy. Please god dont let it be another sick and poo bug to sweep through all of them

May go and eat my remaining 2 KK's........

Mrsjaffabiffa · 04/03/2007 12:37

lg&t, feeling sad for you too, I hope the few weeks fly and N manages to get back before you pack up to Plymouth.

Oh I so hope hugs is OK. We have spent a few hours this morning, taking apart M's car seat and washing covers and hosing down seat after more sick than I have ever seen exploded out of her yesterday when we went shopping. No change of clothes for her, she sat with A in the car in nappy whilst I went into shops for a new outfit for her. The only shop without huge ques was Seargent Major so her puking cost me 61 euros and she got a lovely new outfit. We were late home last night so didn't takle it then just removed seat from car and left it out side, A had done his best with baby wipes at the shops, but god it stank!

Glad your lump is nothing sinister, it's scary for a while though isn't it. Doesn't seem to matter how many children you have something you don't expect creeps up and bites your bum, hope it doesn't get sore.

lillaura · 04/03/2007 13:31

morning all - sun where its tipping it down here dull and grey yuck - having a sort through kids toys today cause a local nursery/ school was victim to arsen during the week the school part is ok but the playschool/nursery is completly ruined poor kiddies all their pictures and toys gone doesnt sound like a very nice weekend so far for many of you guys - no news here really - as for leather sofas had same prob with mine got fed up with them never looking as clean as id like even after cleaning them ordered new sofas on friday for that exact reason!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 04/03/2007 14:17

I have some fab leather cleaner lillaura and then a moisturiser for them after, I am really pleased, they have come up nearly as new and they are 5 yrs old so thats pretty good going . I would love a new set though, quite jealous of AM's lovely chocolate brown leather ones. Needs must though and it's not a need yet. boo hoo

Thats sad about the nursery school, makes me angry why do people do that sort of thing, it's sooooooo unecessary.

lillaura · 04/03/2007 14:42

mine are 3 years old and the three seater has a smll tear in it now, mine are not comfortable either bought them very cheaply when we started out so time to spoil ourselves now our new one id distressed brown laether on base and arms , gold, brown dimples suede scatter cushions very comfy i struggled to get out of it in the shown room so wil be lovely especially as it should arrive the week b4 my section so something nice to rest on afterwards - horrible about the nursery isnt it - but lots of the mums are collecting bits together for them books toys etc - put ads on freecycle too so will get a good collection for them hopefully

anneme · 04/03/2007 15:31

BRIBERY WORKS!! hooray! Last night was our first night in 2 weeks with a dry bed all night. DS was v proud to put a sticker on his sticker chart today and I was v happy not to have had to change bedding. Funny - he seems more relaxed today almost as if it was getting to him and, now it's over, he can be happy. Mind you will probably all changed tonight...
Lg&t - poor you. V scary when you find something that hints of being horrid - particularly when there are other stresses in life. It is not that long to EAster - keep telling yourself that.
Scooter - glad all well with DD - must be a relief.
MrsJ - how come sick can get everywhere and how come it was invented with such a strong smell - one of those creation mistakes imho (along with childbith - ha ha)
I guess when you get a random selection of people posting then lots of different things will happen but it does seem that between us all we have had a rather eventful time waiting for these LOs! There must be a novel or film in this - come on Cinnamonton that's your forte isnt it? - but leave out the embarrassing bits!

anneme · 04/03/2007 15:32

child BIRTh of course - not child bith which sounds like some awful abuse....

Lwatkins · 04/03/2007 15:32

Afternoon All

Scoot yes I have parcel and clothes fit very well, thank you ever so much lovely! Glad to hear that your dd is ok, the people around you sound very strange! Is there something wrong with essex that I'm not aware of or are they just a bit snobby?!

The whole name challenge is one plus to bringing this baby up on my own - no arguments about names as there's nobody to argue with! So whatever names I like I just argue with myself! Though I do sometimes get of some of you with your lovely partners, must be nice to have the support ho hum!

LG&T I break up for easter on 23rd of March, my dad's coming down to get me and take me home for easter - good man! Then I start back on 16th April and my mum will bring me back down. Then I've only got until the 2nd week in May and I'll be out of here for good, have the baby at home and stay there over the summer - can't freakin wait! As for your name choices - I like Milo! I know there's the tweenies thing but it is such a funky name - another one with character! Hope Hugs is ok and glad the lump thing wasn't anything too serious.

LL - why did they do that? There's no need to do something like that, poor little kids. Nice of you all to be collecting up toys etc for them. Things like that make me so mad!

Not much to report this end, oh except some genious has broken the toaster grrrr. LW now has to stand and hold the thing down whilst bread gets toasted as it wont stay down on it's own. I live with apes!

Hope your all ok, bumps to

Lwatkins · 04/03/2007 15:35

anneme - woohoo for your ds. Sending dry bed and sheets wishes you way

lillaura · 04/03/2007 15:42

wow everyone came back all at once there unless i fell asleep did i snooze off then?? wouldnt put it past me at the moment - anyone else like that??

aprilmeadow · 04/03/2007 16:32

Scoot - glad the scan went well.

Anneme - congrats on the dry bed!! I guess i have all that to look forward to

LG&T - I hope that the next few weeks pass very quickly for you. Is there anyone you can ask to lend a hand getting the boxes out of the cupboard? If not then I am only
about 30mins or so away if you need me. And of you having KK's. Glad that your lump seems ok. I have a similar thing, just need to pluck up the courage to go and see the Dr. Although i fear i might die of embarassment . Sorry if TMI, but its not there the whole time, just kind of swells up and then goes back to normal and then repeats the process. Can feel like i have have been kicked there.

MrsJB - Glad you managed to get the covers off. I just hope the car recovers quickly! Yuk yuk yuk - barf! Is M wearing the lovely red and white outfit again today - you know to get the value for money

lilaura - thats terrible about the nursery.

Hello to everyone else

largeginandtonic · 04/03/2007 17:45

AM only 30 mins away...really??? Ooooooh we could meet up, where do you go shopping? Wish id saved you a KK now, i have devoured the lot You must go and see the doc regarding your lump, it is probably the same as me but you never know. How do you take the not knowing??? I couldnt bear it for a day and had to phone the doc, why do these things always appear at the weekend

Clever ds not wetting the bed! DD who is 6 only stopped doing it the begining of last year, ds#3 still does occasionally (he's 4 and a half) was quite a shock for me as the dts did it all in 3 weeks and never went back. Bloomin kids...tsk

Did my shopping online yesterday but the only delivery slot is for monday 8-10pm! We have nothing left, really hate that. Just enough for lunchboxes and brekkie, god knows what tea will be tomorrow. Ifits and chips i expect

Am off to do bath time now, wish me luck. Hugs still miserable and all the others grumpy as it's back to school tomorrow. Oh hooray.....

aprilmeadow · 04/03/2007 17:59

LG&T - I am J4a/J5 of the M3. OOh that would be nice to meet up I dont work on Mondays and am free most weekends. I am worried about it i am just too much of a woos and to about it. Although i guess i should be brave and make an appt tomorrow.

largeginandtonic · 04/03/2007 18:50

Im dreading seeing the doc AM, i have not been at this surgery long and have seen a differnt doc each time so far with all the kids! I may ask for a nurse tomorrow, i hate being poked and prodded down there. I have heart failure just going for a smear, the worst thing for me about having a baby is all the internal examinations in labour..lol. I hate injections too, funny though it never bothered me stabbing someone else or prodding them when i worked I must have been a wicked midwife, cant imagine doing much the same when i go back. I just had no idea then what it was like for those women, i was very nice though, just dont think i empathised well!

We should def meet up AM, will look for something halfwayish betwen us, any ideas? Shame we dont have a kk coffee shop really

Kids all bathed, one in bed, one on couch being quiet, dd shouting her head off , and the twins dragging their feet and towels around.

I may have super noodles for tea, bare cupboards!!!
