luchiso pleased to hear he's doing ok! Sweet he was happy to see his father! Hoping and praying both babies get stronger with every day that passes x

MonkeyArms · 13/01/2017 12:53

How lovely that he was excited to see you luchi.

I was lying in bed this morning and coukd suddenly see why some women really enjoy being pregnant. I am really going to miss lying in bed feeling the little one kick. Although i imagine by the end i will be glad it's over....

PinkUnicorn1990 · 13/01/2017 13:09

Luchi how lovely, fingers crossed all continues to go well Flowers

Monkey I know I love the feeling of her kicking me, although like you say when it gets to the end I'm sure we'll be more fed up!!

marmitecheesetoast · 13/01/2017 13:49

Happy Friday all! Grin
This my second last 5 day week before finishing as then I'm using up lots of leave to do shorter 4 days weeks and then a couple of 3 days weeks Grin

We are going on maternity hopsital tour this weekend, eek! Thinking this might be the first thing that makes this start to feel very real?! I'm looking forward to seeing the birthing pools etc at the MLU.
Have got a list of what I think are the fairly obvious questions (parking, out of hours entrance, visiting hours, checking what facilities and pain relief in MLU there are) but wondered if any of those who have already done this could suggest any less obvious questions that I might want to think about asking?!

Lovely that baby was so excited to see his daddy Luchi!

Monkey and Pink I also love the feeling of the kicks, I love watching my bump twitch and move with them! In fact I'm sat at my desk now watching my bump twitch all over the place through my jumper!!

People at work etc keep telling me I'm blooming and look great. I don't know if they are just saying that those as I have the most ridiculously massive dark shadows under my eyes as haven't had a decent nights sleep for about 4 weeks now Hmm (I guess those days are probably long gone now... ha!)

XxBecxX · 13/01/2017 13:57

Amazing news luchi, everyday done is a small win xxx

summerskittles91 · 13/01/2017 14:35

Congratulations on the 2 arrivals! Hope all is going well, just saw the photo on the last thread, so beautiful!

I haven't been on here in ages, been keeping up on the Facebook thread but will try keeping active on here too.

28+3 and definitely feeling it and showing it now! I swear bump gets bigger on a daily basis (according to DH) Finish from work on 3rd March with a due date of 4th April so will have plenty of time to get last minute things sorted.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

PinkUnicorn1990 · 13/01/2017 15:11

Feeling really anxious today as I had my glucose test yesterday and they said they would ring me today if anything came up... have been staring at my phone all day panicking Confused nothing yet

abeandhalo · 13/01/2017 15:31

I'm sure they would have called by now if they found anything important!

I am now getting baby shopping fatigue - can someone please give me some ideas of what changing bag to buy? Needs to be unisex (not too outdoorsy, but not a handbag either!) with ideally a wet bag area, a changing mat & good pouches for for nappies & bottles. Help!

MrsBac83 · 13/01/2017 16:31

I went with this bag abe (different pattern though)

www.mothercare.com/change-bags/skip-hop-duo-signature-change-bag/LD8820.html?cgid=babycare_changebag&dwvar_LD8820_color=Chevron#prefn1=brand&sz=29&prefv1=Skip+Hop&start=13

Obviously haven't used it but it looks like it will do the job. it's pretty big and has lots of pockets and a changing bag. You can also buy a matching wet bag thingy. It was reduced in store (not online) after Christmas to £40.

MrsBac83 · 13/01/2017 16:32

Sorry - it has a changing mat not bag!! It is a bag!! Dur!!

MrsBac83 · 13/01/2017 16:41

On another note, someone mentioned earlier about going down to 4 days a week by using outstanding leave and it got me thinking. My original plan was to start mat leave at 38 weeks and use my two weeks remaining annual leave before that so I would be off from week 36.

Now I'm thinking maybe bring mat leave forward a week to 37, use a weeks a/leave (so still technically will be off from wk 36) then using the other 5 days leave to have a day off each week in the run up. I also do flexi time so could even get a few more days off in there somewhere.

My question is to those that have been here before.....just how knackered/uncomfortable etc do you feel around 36/37 weeks? Will I be gagging to finish by then?

choccybiscuit · 13/01/2017 20:20

mrs bac I was definately ready to leave by 37 weeks! With dd2 I left at 38 weeks, I had her 3 days later.
I really wished I'd have left earlier, so this time I'm leaving at 35 weeks, two of those weeks are holidays though and odds are it will come early just like both dd's. It will give me time to be with my family and prepare mentally before dc#3 arrives.

ChatEnOeuf · 14/01/2017 09:58

Found you - dangerous game that, leaving the last thread unfilled!

Due Apr 13th, but will be coming in March, so less than ten weeks to go, eight weeks left at work Shock

Nothing ready except all the beautiful baby carriers, this weekend/week I'm getting things out the loft and making sure it's all clean and still working, and we have our NCT session on Sunday.

Glad to hear the first couple of days have been stable, Luchi. They don't always crumble after that, but good that you've been prepared. Great work pulling tubes and stuff out already Grin

Puggleface · 14/01/2017 11:00

Errrm I may have just started packing my hospital bag! Shock just need to get some toiletries and then it's done.
My top tips apart from all the obvious stuff is cheap flip flops for the shower and old slippers for pottering around in! Both of which will be chucked after!
Will give it a few weeks before I do the baby's bag.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

KittyRainbow · 14/01/2017 11:35

Hello!

I've not been on for ages, I hardly get any time to Internet at the moment.

Congratulations on the lovely babies, I hope they continue to go from strength to strength Flowers

Is there a FB group for April? I'd live to join in more but I'm always nervous about posting too much on MN because so many irl people know who I am!

Still 27 weeks on Tuesday (where has the time gone) so only 12 weeks to go. I'm starting to struggle with picking up DS now (he's only 16 months) which is making me feel a bit sad.

MyGreenSofa · 15/01/2017 18:10

Hi Kitty. There is a Facebook group. ChatEnOuef and LotsaTuddles are the admins I think so you'll need to send one of them a private message with your email address so they can add you.

Puggle I have packed my bag today too, trying to be organised, hopefully it's not too early! Just got a few bits to pop in. Starting to wash bits for baby, don't want to be caught out by her being early or something, although again that's just my anxieties so trying be organised to stop the worries!

Abe I had no call re GD so think all is ok! Hope your test results were ok Smile

marmitecheesetoast · 15/01/2017 20:14

Eek puggle and pink you guys are stressing me out with your hospital bags! That's still so far down my list right now Confused feeling a bit stressed! Can I ask what you've packed? I know there's suggested lists available online but sometimes helpful to know what people have actually packed in reality?

Builder starting here tomorrow... next phase of work begins! But that means we'll soon have a porch (I.e. Somewhere to put the pram!)

abeandhalo · 15/01/2017 20:20

My midwife said she's going to look out for my results tomorrow then give me a call.

Re hospital bags, I bought one last week & I'm just popping the odd bit in with I think about, so far it's just pyjamas & lip balm.

Mummymulb16 · 15/01/2017 20:29

Hospital bags already wow 😳 I'm worried now!
When I think about it it's so much to pack and organise for two people that you really do need to start early! I think I will start in the next two weeks and start buying stuff now Hmm

purpleviolet1 · 15/01/2017 20:43

So far I have :
2 cheap nighties
Nursing pads
Disposable pants and Tena incontinence pants (read this on a thread - supposed to be great for the first few days when lochia is heavy)
Travel sized shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, moisturiser, lip balm
Lansinoh
Socks
Flip flops

Need to get maternity pads yet and a nice pair of new pyjamas -dressing down to wear after the birth! Grin

Not got any baby clothing items/baby toiletries yet so nothing for hospital bag. We have a car seat though! Well on order...

petiteange28 · 16/01/2017 12:03

Wow - I was thinking of doing my hospital bag at the beginning of March, and installing the car seat then.

I was also planning on going on leave from 13th April and I'm due 21st.

This is my first so perhaps I'm just being stupid?

PinkUnicorn1990 · 16/01/2017 12:14

Petite this is my first too, I am probably being too early with all my things so I don't think you are being stupid waiting to do everything. Just in my nature as a worrier to try and make sure all is sorted so I can't worry about it! I'm due 2nd April and go on leave 27th Feb (as I have some holiday to use first Smile)

jpeg28 · 16/01/2017 15:08

petite I'm planning on working until the 7th and baby due on 18th... it's my first too but I think I might be pushing it!!

marmitecheesetoast · 16/01/2017 15:35

Can I just ask a quick question, are other people feeling kicks higher up now? I'm feeling loads of kicks and movement but all still really low down I.e. around belly button level and below. Just wondering if/when I should expect to feel movement higher up as people always talk about being kicked in the ribs!
