Aber I'm exactly the same with movement. It's gone from clear kicks and punches to a rolling sensation. I wasn't sure if any is running out of room of simply changed position. Probably a bit of both!

I'm finishing work just before 38 weeks, Fri 31st March - a Friday and last day of the month felt like a nice clean finish, let's see if I last that long.

MrsBac83 · 24/01/2017 09:10

I'm finishing at 36 weeks (10/3) but I'm going down to 4 days a week from 6/2. Can't wait to have that extra day off!!

Have decided I'd quite like baby to come when I'm 37 weeks - it's the week after SIL's wedding and 2 weeks before DH's 40th Birthday. Can we schedule these things? Grin

I noticed a change in movements yesterday Aber / Amelie. I was getting fairly strong kicks at certain points in the day when my belly really jolted but yesterday they seemed much softer. Like they were dulled somehow. Maybe baby was just having a feeble day. I know he/she enjoyed the scrambled egg on toast I had this morning. Smile

everdene · 24/01/2017 09:18

I'm finishing at 35+5 weeks, it will feel right for me (currently 29 weeks, so seven more weeks to go!

It can't come quickly enough. I'd like about three weeks to chill out before the big day, I think.

purpleviolet1 · 24/01/2017 10:24

I'm finishing at 36 weeks - 3rd march. Can't wait really. Beginning to feel really tired at times.... 5.5 weeks to go!

peanutbutter310 · 24/01/2017 10:35

I have a lot of annual leave to use up, so finishing at 32 weeks. Counting down the days now Grin

abercorn · 24/01/2017 13:06

Abe,
I did get rolling/ shaking sensations for couple of weeks. Asked the mw and she said it was completely normal.
On the less brighter side, my uterine doppler came out high so they ve given me another scan now for next week just to watch baby growth closely.

abeandhalo · 24/01/2017 16:42

Fingers crossed for you that they monitor and everything is fine!

Rolling / shaking sensation is so the word for it, it reminds me a bit of you know when a cat stretches & then shudders? That's what I imagine him doing having a good old stretch lol.

MonkeyArms · 24/01/2017 16:51

Hope it goes well abercorn

I am trying to work out if the baby has turned so it is now head down or if i have a uti. Kicks feel much stronger above my bellybutton and need to pee way more than i have been. No idea really!

jpeg28 · 24/01/2017 17:24

Abe I've noticed that same thing with movements over the past couple of days. I'm guess the room is running out!!

I'm finishing at 38+4... although each day I'm at work I want to bring it closer!! They still haven't even advertised for a replacement!

Aber hope all is ok. Good that they are monitoring you and nice you get another peak at baby!!

Monkey last week I'm convinced baby was treading on my bladder!! I had such a pressure low down and went for a wee every 10 mins!!! I'm back up to half hourly now!

purpleviolet1 · 24/01/2017 17:35

Monkey arms I had an appt yesterday and they said head was down albeit not engaged. Also been going to the loo a lot to pass small amounts !

30+4

Theknittinggorilla · 24/01/2017 17:54

And I've finished work! Whoop!

itbeeps · 24/01/2017 18:26

finishing work at 30 weeks, due to lots of left over annual leave

MyGreenSofa · 24/01/2017 19:47

Congrats gorilla on finishing work! I'm a SAHM already so depending on how you look at it I'm already off work or never actually get to finish!

My kicks have changed too - they're much lower down now and more of a twitch than a kick. It's more often but v different. It's frustrating not knowing what kind of change is normal!

Strubo · 24/01/2017 21:24

I requested today to finish on the 17th feb when I'll be almost 34 weeks which seems better in my head! Congratulations to gorilla for finishing already!

HLBug · 24/01/2017 22:51

Amelie I'll be finishing on 31st March too - we can celebrate together! Having a section at 39 weeks so that'll give me two weeks off to get organised before the madness begins. We moved DS into his 'big boy bedroom' this weekend so nursery is empty and ready(ish) for new arrival, eek. Not long to go now!

everdene · 25/01/2017 06:56

Congratulations Gorilla!

Enjoy the peace!

marmitecheesetoast · 25/01/2017 09:18

Woohoo for finishing work Gorilla! Must be an amazing feeling!

I'm finishing at 37 weeks on 24th March, using a week's leave then mat leave starting at 38 weeks. Haven't counted how many weeks to go that is.... I kind of don't want to know as I've got so much work to get through in the meantime!! Hmm

Having a bit of a stressful week. Our builder walked out and quit on us yesterday a week into several weeks of work he was supposed to be doing... Angry

Did go shopping last night and started stocking up on hospital bag stuff though so feel a bit better to have got quite a few of those things ticked off my list. Thanks for the tips on going into Mothercare for a proper root around - I found a nursing nightie and dressing gown set in the sale for £13.50! Bargain! That'll do for after labour. It's black too so even better Wink I also got a big baggy cheap cotton tshirt nightie from Asda for wearing in labour if I want and some massive big pants! My sale maternity tankini top arrived from Asos yesterday too so have that for in the birthing pool if I want it. I also started picking up some of the scary items like maternity pads, nursing pads, nipple cream etc! Eek! Definitely starting to feel more real now!

Question on what baby will need clothes wise for hospital bag - have obviously got a selection of short sleeved vests and sleep suits, have got some thin cotton hats and scratch mittens too. Then obviously a blanket for on the way home in car. I know hospital will be warm but will the baby need more than the cotton hat for on the way home? Should I get a warmer wooly hat? Also would I need eg a cardigan or anything or would blanket on top of vest and sleepsuit be enough?! I have no idea!

I know what you guys means about the changing rolling sensations. I'm still getting some big kicks but also starting to get more of these other sort of rolling/shuddering sensations too. Must be normal for this sort of time! Monkey, Jpeg and Purple I'm also thinking baby is pressing on/kicking bladder - last day or two keep getting sudden sensation of desperately needing a wee but when I got it's only a really small amount! Either that or it's the start of a UTI Hmm

choccybiscuit · 25/01/2017 09:25

I wish I was finishing today! I'm do exhausted now. Completely wiped out. I nearly called in sick today, but felt guilty as pregnancy is not an illness. Strange thing happened yesterday, I was coming out the school gates and I felt baby had turned. Sure enough the baby's movements have changed and it feels so uncomfortable. I hope it changes soon. I finish work on 3rd of March and it cannot come soon enough.
Hope you ladies are doing well today x

choccybiscuit · 25/01/2017 09:28

marmite I'm getting a little jacket/ cardigan, not too thick for journey home from hospital. It always very breezy at that time of year.

petiteange28 · 25/01/2017 12:21

I'm pleased to hear it's not me that's diving into toilets only to have a 2 second wee. Completely annoying.

I'm due 21st April and planning on finishing 13th April. It seems like I have a long way to go still. I'm very impatient so I'd rather be at work where I can at least take my mind off it rather than sitting at home waiting, and then I can use more time off with the new arrival.

I wish the weather would warm up....walking down my street this morning I nearly slid on the icy pavement three times. Not ideal when you are in a rush to get to an 8am conference!

purpleviolet1 · 25/01/2017 20:18

Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy good quality gender neutral baby clothes? Don't want to spend too much when they only stay in newborn or 0-3 for a short time!

Asda - none gender neutral
Next - poor quality

JennyOfOldstones · 25/01/2017 20:27

purple I love H&M for basics. I think they are fairly neutral. They are cheap but last really well.

purpleviolet1 · 25/01/2017 20:45

Thank you I'll take a look!

everdene · 26/01/2017 05:47

I seem to have developed insomnia, have been awake since ten to five Hmm

Tomorrow will be a looong day!

I thought the baby had turned too but I think i can still feel the head at the top of my stomach.
