Just wanted to share something with fellow SPD sufferers, for those who are having a vaginal birth. Have you had a "Pain Free Hip Abduction" score yet?
Mine was done by the physio, and it basically means how far I can have my legs apart during birth. Its actually been put in my maternity notes, so mw/hospital/etc have to take notice of it (tbh mw are aware of my SPD, and we have already been discussing birthing positions)

Night all, will catch up properly soon

x

Ps, feeling very soppy with dh, have posted on the relationships thread lovedup

liath · 22/02/2007 08:10

Bugmum, LOL at "a bit low, uncomfy, fat, and slightly panicky", just sums up the 3rd trimester for me really!

WCL - hope Vera doesn't get any bigger or she'll start talking to your DH .

SOSPL hope last night was a quiet & dry one!

Ooog, that sounds very scary - hope you & the twins are taking it nice & easy. I really take my hat off to you and 1b3 managing with two in there (not that you have a lot of choice!), you're both doing so well!

I bought myself a new maternity top yesterday, which is madness with less that 2 months to go but the shops are full of lovely clothes at the moment and I was getting fed up of not being able to buy anything. Anyway, it's a tunic type thing so hopefully will be able to wear it afterwards to cover up the bulges! My sister was saying the other day that the only good thing about late pregnancy is that the bump gets so huge that it distracts attention away from how huge your bum has got. Think she may have a point.....

maveta · 22/02/2007 08:25

oogs.. you poor thing, what a fright! Can imagine your face at the thought of going full term, sounds like you´ve got two big healthy babbies in there! Can´t imagine how ´full´ you must be feeling. You too, 1b3.

It does seem like we´re all getting to ´that´ time and I, like Katy 44, really have had such an easy pregnancy that I shouldn´t really complain at all. I´ve really been very lucky and feel for all of you that have had more serious/ painful complaints along the way. But still, at this point for me it´s not so much any ONE thing/ pain it´s just everything! Last night was the first time I felt like I could cry just at how uncomfortable I was. And I think it´s that feeling of, there´s still so LONG TO GO!! Bah.

Today is a new day and so far I feel fine, I hope all of you girls do too.. and that it continues that way

maveta · 22/02/2007 08:31

Cheeky git!! I just said to dh (while staring at my stomach) ´God just imagine, in a couple of months it´ll be so much bigger that we´ll look back and this will seem relatively small in comparison´. He said ´huh, I don´t know, it´s not so small now you know!´!!!

muminabigtumi · 22/02/2007 08:50

Morning!

Can fully relate to the full of baby feeling...just can't see where another 1 month and 25 days worth of growth is going tofit in....!! 1b3 and OOGS - I admire you so much, cannot imaginehow physically uncomfortable you must be at times.

Ooogs - glad you are ok after your scary hospital dash...

SOSPL - glad you are enjoying your car - had to laugh at the thought of you out ther with the dustbuster...thought it was only me who was THAT anal ;-)

Nice to see you Opinionsrus!

Oh my mind has gone blank now....
Going to visit a friend and her 3 boys today so best shoot and get ready - the weather is pants so no gardening for James and I today...at least we are getting out of the house though!
Up at 12.35 last night and then 6 am....so slightly better than usual....

Have a fab day ladies...
x

Eddas · 22/02/2007 08:51

Men are so thoughtful!

Still got my rash and itchy tummy so off to doctors today. Was reading my NHS pg book and it said to get tummy rashes checked out. I was assuming it was the stretchmark cream but thinking about it there's no rash on my sides and I definately put cream there too. Very odd

Hope everyone is feeling better today it's not nice feeling uncomfortable and huge, not to mention the pain lots of you are in. It'll all be worth it in a few weeks, really isn't long even those who are due at the end of April . Quite glad i'm due 2nd only 5+3 to go

flumppootle · 22/02/2007 09:42

Is it morning??

Pants night here. DD has had a temp for a couple of days and has been up ALL night retching and pacing the house. She says that she has no pain anywhere so I am assuming that it's just another virus

SOSPL How did your night with Becky go?

Sorry to hear that others are feeling low/ uncomfortable/huge/itchy and generally very pregnant! So good to have others to share with that don't roll their eyes and say that it will all be worth it the end!

at hospital visits oogs! Take care.

Cake sounded yummy Liath can you post one down please?

Katy the viewing went well. The couple are very interested and just waiting for an offer on theirs to put in a sensible offer on ours. Thankyou for asking , have you had any more interest?

How did your mw appointment go WO? I saw mine yesterday aswell and the little chap is still breech but plenty of time so not going to worry. Hope that your baby turns too Emmymummy.

The rest of the travel system turned up and I had great fun playing with it last night. Couldn't get near it until the lo's went to bed!
PSML at the Krypton factor trying to get pushchair/car seat covers off Miabt, it's the trying to put them back on again that makes me curse.

mmk · 22/02/2007 10:17

I found my way here! I'm at work and haven't done a dam thing since I arrived an hour and 8 mins ago! Luckily nobody knows or cares how much I get done.

I'm feeling huge and bloated- how on earth am I going to make it to 10th April. We don't know if it is a boy or girl, we like a surprise. I have to have a caesarean, but i'm not too worried (had 2 already).

I am dreading materniity leave, stuck at home alone (toddler will be in nursry) feeling like a whale!

We started doing the nursery, what a nightmare! It is absolutely piled high with stuff! So, we just shut the door on it. I did show the little sets from mothercare to my freind. I'm not faffing about matching clothes up, I've got three sets of newborn clothes from Mothercare. I've also got a sleep gown, with elastic bottom, and integrated scratch mits on the sleeves, surely the most useful and practical item on the planet?

So good to have people to suffer with!

mmk · 22/02/2007 10:21

flumpootle - I feel for you. our toddler woke for over two hours the other night, it was awful.
Last night I woke at 3am and thought, "i know that smell, no it can't be, yes, it is,, no, it isn't" eventually, I went into his room, had a little sniff under the sheets, and yep, it was...so I had to change his nappy at 3am, in his bed, without waking him.

DH was in attendance, but half asleep!

I hope your little one is beter

mammyjo · 22/02/2007 10:39

Morning all. Still not sleeping well here but mainly due to frequent toilet trips overnight. Ds and dh sleep all night every night just now, its just me.

MIABT, have a good day out. Its nice just to get out of the house sometimes even if the weather is rubbish isnt it.

Have finally ordered the carpet for ds big boy bedroom and did buy the paint last night too. Dh is hoping to get some time off this weekend to get on with things. The room is now just about empty. It had turned into a general dumping ground so has taken me absolutely ages to clear out.

SOSPL, lol at you and the dustbuster. My clean car regime lasted about 2 days after I picked it up!

Ooogs, hope you get chance to take it easy after your hospital visit.

Baby very wriggly this morning and is making me very uncomfortable. Getting a bit worked up about the ever closer birth now. Feels like it is lying low down today as am feeling a lot of pressure down in my bum. Getting freaked now. Feel teary and miserable today for no apparent reason. Just one of those days I suppose. Have a good day all xxx

CaptainDippy · 22/02/2007 11:22

Hello all - Have to be mega whizz-speed today cos DD2 refused to go down for her morning nap - Hoping this is just a one off - She just wouldn't go down in her cot and wanted to fall asleep in my arms - The last time she did this was about 6 months ago and it just scares me cos I neeeeeed these mornings so badly, esp with the new baby coming ...... feeling so shaky and anxious now - Pathetic aren't I!!!? Please reassure me guys!! Anyway, in the end, I had to lay down on DD1's bed with her and she eventually dropped off and I was able to extract myself and leave her there (hope she doesn't fall out!) Please, please, please let this be a one off.....

Anyway, DD1 is due back in ten mins and I have loads to dooooooo

Emmy - My bubba is oblique lie too - is rather uncomfy and hoping they move soon - You are due the day before me so there is plenty of time for everything to get into the "correct" place - Don't worry sweetie - How is Emily today??

[[[hugs]] to you Bugmum - Sorry you are not feeling great, hope your mood perks up soon sweetie. You know where we are....

Flump - to DD being ill, I am thinking my DD2 is comign down with something, which might (hopefully) explain all the odd behaviour recently - her nappy was pretty violent this morning, but no temp / vomiting etc .... ?? Probably teeth .... Hope your LO feels better soon. [hugs]

Oooooogs - Glad all is ok with you and bubbas!

Did you have a fab Birthday EllieK?

How is everyone else - Love to all ......

1becomes3 · 22/02/2007 11:22

Morning all I had a terrible nights sleep, poor DD after just about getting over the flu she is now having teething pain, the poor little thing was up a 12 and then again at 4 sobbing her little heart out, she kept pointing at her mouth and ear saying "ohhh baddies."
It's at time like that when even if I am really uncomfertable I don't mind having to get up.

WCL- I can get my socks on either, I could get one on my left foot up until yesterday, but now can't get at either foot at all.

Ooogs- you poor thing, it's not easy this twin lark, that must have been a bit of a worry for you.
At least you know that when the babies do come they will be a nice healthy weight and won't have to stay in to be plumped up.
i thought carrying round 7lbs of baby was bad but 10lbs I feel your pain.
On going full term I don't envy you one bit, I am glad that I don't have to.
Really don't know how much more I can strech feel like I am going to burst anytime.
keep us posted on any more developments

And that brings me nicely to my idea I had last night.
I've been thinking (she's been thinking!) that we should start up a buddy system for those who want it, what it would be is everyone gives their mobile number to 1 person on the list and if they have the baby and can't get to a computer (and their DH is a useless as mine is and doesn't know how to use a one) the person who has that persons number get's a text when baby is born and then comes on and tells the rest of us.

The reason i thought this would be a good idea is if like me your having a c-section and staying in hospital or just finding it hard to find the time to sit down at a computer then at least we will all know everything is ok.

Does that make any sense?
Let me know who is intresed?

1becomes3 · 22/02/2007 11:29

Sorry CD xposted there took me so long to write that last post.

Your not pathetic it so hard when DC decide they don't want to nap, and it does make you feel terrible, I always dread my DD not having a nap all day, because I know she will go wonkey in the night.
Even if my Dd decides that she doesn't want her morning nap at the first yawn I talk her into having one and leave her in her room playing with her toys, till she nods off or not in which case I just leave her till it is her luch time, it gives me a well needed break.

mmk · 22/02/2007 11:30

good idea 1becomes3, about having a buddy. I'm feeling really alone and I'd love a buddy, I'm sure others would too.

I'm having a csection too, on 10th Apirl. Ds much adored, is 2 1/2 and I'm alternating between excitement, and dead cold fear that life will be hell!

Hope everyone is feeling better than I am today,Ds and his 3am stinky ruined my day. Still, I'm awake half the night anyway, trotting to the loo and back!

CaptainDippy · 22/02/2007 11:36

1B3 - Thank you for reassurance - I am just such a natural worrier - I neeeed stuff to go pretty much according to plan otherwise I go kinda nuts .....

Think the "Buddy Idea" is great ......

You willing to instigate it??

flumppootle · 22/02/2007 11:37

Thanks CD and mmk, I feel so sorry for my poorly dd. She is on the sofa like a wet dish rag at the moment and I have had to postpone her birthday treat until next weekend . It always seems to be the same when half term arrives the weather is crap and the children are ill!

Hope your DDs sleep thing is a one off CD, my ds is trying to drop his morning nap but I am having none of it!

Hugs Mammyjo

MMk your little sleep suit sounnds so cute. The travel system seems to have done the trick and I have finally started nesting. The tiny clothes have been washed and bags dug out, although not packed yet but it is progess

flumppootle · 22/02/2007 11:39

1b3 the buddy idea is lovely and very thoughtful

Did Rofl when someone typed 1b6 by mistake - could just imagine your face

1becomes3 · 22/02/2007 11:43

I thought if we made up a list of people who are intrested and then sorted them into pairs with due dates that aren't close together, then fingers crossed it wouldn't go tits up.
If the buddies then leave their email adress, they can send the phone number via email rather than having it displayed to the whole world.

1becomes3 · 22/02/2007 11:57

I am going to use the stats thread to work out who goes with who so make sure your on there and your dates are right.

1becomes3 · 22/02/2007 11:58

oh and make sure you have a moblie as well

flumppootle · 22/02/2007 12:01

1b3, do we need to who is having an elective cs? That would bring their due date forward a week or two. I will be having either an elective cs or early induction.

1becomes3 · 22/02/2007 12:10

Ok I am going to start up a thread of people who are intrested and their due dates c-section or not then hopefully other will add all their details to it.
So far I have
Flump-23rd
c.d-26th
mmk-10th c-section
1b3-10th c-section

If flump and c.d let me know how you are going to give birth (hopefully) then i will get this started.

It's not going to be exact but lets hope it will work to some sort of degree.

flumppootle · 22/02/2007 12:14

Put me down for a cs

flumppootle · 22/02/2007 12:14

Thanks for doing this 1b3

1becomes3 · 22/02/2007 12:19

this

There we go just add in you EDD (or new date if you have one or just a rough guess) and weather you are natural or c-section.
