EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 19/02/2007 21:00

just think, once upon a time you'd have been getting excited about shoes, handbags, jewellery, now all it takes is nappies motherhood is truly upon you

elliek - indeed how things change! shopping has a new slant - nappies and niple creams! the route for a walk round the shops has to be planned not according to what wine bars there are for a break but where are the public loos. the only guttural groans and grunts rfom me after dark are as i struggle with wonky hips to turn in bed or force myself off the bed for a wee.

the glamour!

maveta · 19/02/2007 21:08

Aahh, dh has just rung (he's away this week, Mnachester tonight, Glasgow til Friday) Told me that I am doing a brilliant job of looking after ds, and this lo, that I couldn't be a bad mum if I tried, and the only thing I should ever feel guilty of is not spending enough time looking after me (nearly started blubbing again )

Don't like him being away, but am liking the thought of the bed to myself for a week....

runnyhabbit · 19/02/2007 21:20

lol at wo

CaptainDippy · 19/02/2007 21:22

weeonion · 19/02/2007 21:23

runnyhabbit · 19/02/2007 21:24

Has anybody ever had to have extra blood tests because antibodies have been found in their blood?
Mw rang and told me that I need to have blood tests every 4 weeks up until I deliver, but not to worry? she said they might have been there with ds pregnancy but never showed up. Got AN appt on Thursday so will ask more about them then, but just wondered if anyone else had had this?

CaptainDippy · 19/02/2007 21:25

Not heard of that here, I'm afraid runny - I am sure they'll explain everything to you at your appt on Thurs - Poor you - I HATE blood tests. [hug]

Emmymummy · 20/02/2007 07:11

Morning - have been up for ages as can't sleep as damn hips are so sore. Can't get comfy and the baby is break-dancing in my tummy. Convinced she keeps looping the loop and making me feel very weird. Have to keep going to the loo every 10 mins, maybe she's sqeezing my bladder?!

Had a really bad night anyway as Em has a cold and is not herself at all. Wet herself in the night, which is not like her at all, so was up washing duvets etc. in the night, and up early to do some more loads. Have left her and Mark sleeping upstairs so am enjoying a quiet cup of tea & porridge. Hope they stay asleep, as this is quite pleasant!

I hope Em is feeling better today as we were supposed to the driving up to Milton-Keynes to buy the buggy, car seat, iso-fix and whatever else we could find from Two Left Feet, as they are the only place we can find which has exactly what we want for a decent price....we'll see how she is first.

This sleep thing (or lack of it) s completely driving me insane as I can never predict if I'm going to get a good rest, and the amount of sleep I have completely sets the tone for the rest of the day.

Well Weeonion, I absolutely commend you on your organisation with your bags, nappies et al. Making me feel very paranoid as am more of a last minute person...

Runny - grrrrr at your boss, what an insensitive git. You take what you are entitled to, he cannot do a thing about it.

SOSPL - when are you finishing work? Everyone seems to be counting down their days now, but I'm keeping going til Easter. Please tell me I'm not the only one?

Well I knew this was too good to be true, dh has just come down.....

maveta · 20/02/2007 08:07

Sorry you had a disturbed night emmymummy..no chance of a siesta later on? We are BIG fans of siestas in this house. Dh actually works 10-2 and 5-8 so that he has 3 hours off in the middle of the day for lunch and siesta. Still very big over here. Fabulous invention.

I am going to be working til the end of March, thought I was one of the last, isn´t´easter about the 7th this year? When are you due? I´ve still got 5 weeks to go so not exactly counting the days yet. Am seeing my boss in 2 weeks (she´s based in the UK in the winter) and might play it all up a bit and see if I can work the final weeks from home..

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 20/02/2007 08:07

i'm finishing on march 23rd but that's only cos i'm due april 9th!
