I never had the brown goo but my waters went with a vengeance! I was lying in bed at around 2am and suddenly thought I was wetting myself (but didnt feel like I was IYKWIM as it was a completely different sensation). On standing up my waters went. There was so much that my husband heard the splash downstairs!! Mmmmm nice, all over the bedroom floor! Thought that was it so went to the bathroom, cleaned myself up, walked back into the bedroom and they bloody went again! I could not believe how much water there was!! I know that waters can trickle quietly for days though and not gush like mine did.

1b3, know what you mean about thinking you are doing the clear out thing. Thought has crossed my mind a few times too!!

Eddas · 20/02/2007 17:00

MJ, lol least you weren't in tesco, still a fear of mine!!!

With dd i'd just got back from hospital(induction didn't creat any movement so told them i wanted to go home) and went to bed. Had a sudden huge contraction and shot up out of bed, not sure how i knew waters had gone(never been pg before) and managed to make it to the loo! Not a bit on the carpet not quite sure how. dh wondered what the hell was going on but son realised as he saw me on the loo with knickers still in place

Was really suprised that more waters came out with contractions through the following day. It's amazing how much there is

weeonion · 20/02/2007 17:25

oh lordy - waters, waters, waters..... my big fear is that they will go on the bus home and i will have to apologise to a large gentleman sitting beside me.

when my mum was having the twins - hers went with a pop all over the floor of a new mobile home that our friends had just bought and brought round to show off. she got down on her hands and knees to clean them up. they let her as well!

AngeG · 20/02/2007 17:29

Have just read all the posts but now can't remember much.

Emmymummy - hope you managed to get an appointment for emily and that she's better soon.

SOSPL - Sorry Becky wet again. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I will try and catch up more later, just can't seem to retain information today.

Feeling a bit sorry for myself at the moment. Have realised that work is making my SPD worse as it's always worse after a day at work...not sure why though I only do admin, maybe it's the chair. DH says I should stop work(his decision it's a family business)but I've still got things to do and don't want any of the x-wives messing around with my stuff!

Went to get a chest of drawers for the baby's room on Sunday and the bloke dropped it on the floor as he was carrying it out and it was ruined and they had no more in stockIt really upset me as I was looking forward to getting more organised. Feel like time is running away now. Last time Jake was born less than a week from now and I haven't even packed a bag yetLet alone built the crib or sorted the room out.

Can't remember the last time I managed to get to sleep before 3.30 and DS is getting up at 6.30. If it's not SPD pain it's restless legs, if not that heartburn and finally really sore aching ribs. It's all getting a bit much at the moment and to top it all DH has gone away overnight so have to manage on my ownThink I'm just having a down few days.

I am a terrible mummy DS is sat watching Toy Story as I'm too tired to do anything with him

Sorry it's so moany, just need to get it off my chest.

Lots of Love and Hugs to everyone xx

Emmymummy · 20/02/2007 17:50

Awww Ange, BIG HUGS to you. So sorry you're feeling down and that all the aches and pains are getting too much. YOU ARE NOT A BAD MUMMY at all for letting Jake watch Toy Story. He is perfectly happy and you are getting a break. Do not beat yourself up about letting watch DVDs, we all do it.XXXX

maveta · 20/02/2007 18:28

Ange, is there really no way you could tie up some loose ends and take your ML early? If it´s being offered... you´re going to be off for a good while anyway I take it so will a couple of extra weeks really make all that much difference? And it might make all the difference to your wellbeing?

SOSPL - poo to a wet night! Good luck for tonight, stay strong!!

Girls have any of you thought about a birth plan or done one? I am not sure what to do. I started off this pregnancy pretty gung ho about what kind of birth I wanted. Spain is not the most modern in these things and any hospital birth can end up quite medicalised and that scares me a bit. Ideally I would have planned a home birth but dh was reluctant and I thought, I´ll give him this one and do what I want for the next . Anyway. Fast forward a few months and I´ve lost a lot of my motivation, in so much as I feel like on many points I would be fighting the system and that could ultimately make for a more stressful experience for me, while having little impact on the outcome. So now I haven´t really done anything and am not sure if I should.

Maybe thought I should at least do a birth plan kind of just for dh and I, so he knows what I want? Examples of things I don´t want are continuous monitoring if not necessary (but this can be complicated, I believe, by the midwives disappearing and leaving you hooked up and not coming back for ages to unhook you) and not to have an IV drip put in as routine (I think this is non negotiable).

What are you guys doing? If you are doing birth plans are they long, short, just for you or for the medical team aswell (here I don´t think they would know what it was!)

weeonion · 20/02/2007 19:03

maveta - we actually have just fnished my birthplan as i have to show it to my MW at my antenatal in the morning. i have emailed you a copy.

AngeG · 20/02/2007 19:06

Thanks Emmymummy and Maveta.

I suppose I could start earlier. Don't like letting other people down, they are expecting me to work til 23rd March. Finanacial year end and our buisness year end fall from April to May and I'm expecting to have to either help out with that at the time or prepare most of it in advance ie before I start ML. I'm sure it'll work out ok. Sorry for being moany.

Maveta I was just thinking about birth plans yesterday and how I would like to at least have a few points discussed with Allen beforehand so he knows what I want, but then I'm having an elective section so there aren't so many choices. Think it's definitely a good idea to at least discuss with DH.

Eddas · 20/02/2007 19:38

AngeG, I feel a bad mum sometimes as i'm letting dd watch loads of dvd's at the moment but tbh I cannot do anything with her at the moment But i'm not worried as sure it's just being pg and once the baby's out we can go to the park etc again.

Re birth plans, i'm not doing one. Can't see the point really as it's not the sort of thing you can plan. I know that when expecting dd a lady in antenatal class wanted a water birth, really had her heart set on it and in the end ended up with c-section. I know that the local hospital only has one birthing pool and obviously if someones in it all ready you can't just hop in with them.

All i did last time was research the pain relief available and then went with the mw at the time. They do know more than me as they've seen it all before!

Just my opinion though

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 20/02/2007 19:45

pmsl at 1becomes6! Fabulous typo!!

Ange, I am really sorry you are feeling low. It seems to be catching. Hope you can sort something with work.

Feel knackered tonight and my shoulders are aching like mad. I feel like I am leaning forward the whole time.

Becky asked to wear a nappy tonight in bed. Andrej and I nearly lept for joy! I know it's a bit daft giving in, but we are so exhausted we could do with an undisturbed night!

Right, need to think about dinner, although have stuffed a few pancakes tonight!

See you later.

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 20/02/2007 19:50

Thanks weeonion and angeg, Weeonion I got your emailed and replied, thanks

I think I´ve done a wee bit of an about face on the ol´ birth plan just because I can have control freak tendencies and worry that if I have anything too rigid then I will feel stressed and out of control if it doesn´t go to plan. But I DO think it would help clarify to dh what I want, so it´s not all news to him once we´re in the middle of it!

SOSPL - I don´t think it´s giving in at all, if she´s not ready, she´s not ready and better a night nappy than a long term trauma and weeks of bed wetting!! Spoken from my years of experience, you understand

Katy44 · 20/02/2007 20:25

Hello everyone
AngeG - sorry to hear you're feeling so tired at the moment
I'm working until the end of March (23 more working days as I have a week off as well )
Did anyone see the story about the premature baby today? (don't read it if you're easily upset, although the baby is fine!!) So tiny - I can't believe I'm ten weeks further on than that!
Well, better go and collapse on the sofa, as I seem to have managed to make two brownies disappear (sainsbury's also very nice, but not as good as the co-op)
Take care everyone

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 20/02/2007 20:35

Thanks Maveta. Tbh, I am not overly concerned. It will happen when she is ready. I think she is probably pissed of with waking herself up as well!

Picking up our Picasso tomorrow - v exciting!

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 20/02/2007 20:36

OP posts:
Emmymummy · 20/02/2007 20:54

EllieK - I agree it is shocking. Am still wondering how we're going to afford it, but will just have to as I need to go back to work. Deffo can't afford to have any more kids after this.....

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 20/02/2007 21:01

Ellie, wishing you a very Happy Birthday tomorrow.I hope you get everything you wish for. xx

muminabigtumi · 20/02/2007 21:06

Emmymummy - I nearly went into bloody labour when I read how much that nursery costs!!!! that is HORRENDOUS! You poor soul....

SOSPL and Angeg - Hope you both get a good kip tonight - sorry to hear you are feeling poo...and AngeG if letting your kid watch a DVD while you rest makes you a bad Mummy then I am sure we can all join in that club! I was lying in bed at 6.30 am with James watching Happy Feet on a portable DVD whilst I caught some more zzzz's!

Weeonion - I cannot beleive that your Mum's friends made her clean that up! - unbelievable!!

ElieK - Happy Birthday for tomorrow (in case I forget!!) x

How good are pancakes! YUM YUM!!

Katy44 - the pic in the paper of that little baby's toes just had me in floods - so amazed that it has survived...it really does reassure you when you get to this stage and you read a story like that though doesn't it?

Eddas - I did laugh at your "too many pists!!"

x

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 20/02/2007 21:07

AngeG · 20/02/2007 21:25

Thanks for all your kind words girls. Echoing the words of others you lot really are fantastic, don't know what I would have done without you all.

EllieK - Great birthday present! Hope you have a great day tomorrow only a week til mine now

Emmy - I agree I'm at your nursery fees. I pay £28 for Jake to go 9-3.30, think it's about £35-£40 for 8-6pm.

SOSPL - Fantastic picking your car up! Also good that Becky has decided to put herself back into nappies, she'll do it when she's ready. You need sleep.

Katy - Brownies mmmmm. I only have chocolate

Eddas and MIABT - You're right about DVDs. Jake is watching more than I would never normally allow, but I know it's only a short term thing. Once this baby is out and the weather improves we'll be out more.

Jake was lovely at bedtime tonight. He said "I love you so much mummy all the time and I love your baby" at which point he lifted my top up to kiss my tummy. As you can imagine tears were rolling down my face.

Hugs to everyone.

Aww kids are so cute.

I caught my bump on a ladder on sat(still not allowing enough clearance!!!) and dd saw the little mark on my tummy(not sure how through all the stretchmarks) and the conversation was

dd; mummy got poorly
me; yes i did it on the ladder
dd; which one the little one or the big one
me; the big one
dd; (rubs tummy) poorly all gone now(gives it a kiss)
me; thank you
dd; it's ok mummy you must be careful

Cute little sod and just think she's only 2.8years old!
