thanks for the hugs all

was having a bad day, sat here in tears and that just upset me more

Ellie - Mrs GV was right about one thing - it is none of her business!

runnyhabbit · 22/02/2007 14:00

Dh has just rung me and he's been done for speeding

Didn't want to, but had to ask what speed his was doing...(expecting it to be near 3 figures) He was doing nearly 90 on the motorway - 3 points and fixed fine of £50

He tried to justify it by saying it shouldn't be a suprise considering the amount of mileage he does. That's sooo not the point

feel so much better after having a rant

runnyhabbit · 22/02/2007 14:02

elliek - you know me so well

btw - if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have the most funniest, original thread titles. Maybe we should make the next one really inappropiate or would that be causing trouble

liath · 22/02/2007 14:02

Don't cry, Ellie - it's so not worth getting upset about, there have been far more risque antenatal titles (mostly made up by my sister on the January thread ). I think it's hilarious & makes me smile when I click on it.

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 22/02/2007 14:05

hmm, speeding.
have to confess i got my conditional offer through today, for doing 84 on the A14 in a 70 limit
3 points and £60 fine!
still, Stephen has offered to pay half as it was when i was on the way to his after our 'little blip'!

Great idea 1b3 re. buddies, I´vé signed up.

Sympathy to all those struggling with wee ones at the moment, and any other ailments (and boy do we know we´ve got plenty of those!)

That random comment from MrsG was odd, Ellie take no notice.

Off to look at accounts now. Found out today that I owe 90Euros on my old mobile, a bill that slipped through the cracks when I changed company, AND finally got around to giving the meter reading to the electricity company so we now have a 300 Euro bill winging its way to us.

Sigh.

IsabellyMoi · 22/02/2007 14:08

Nice to see you back hotlipsmummy and others. Like you, I've been reading and enjoying the posts but haven't had much to add lately.

Emmymummy - hope your little one gets into position and you can avoid the c-section. Mine was head up for a long time, then at my last MW app't it was head down but today I'm worrying that he/she has decided to get out of position and turn sideways - not sure, but the bean has been kicking and punching my sides and the shape feels different now.

Ooogs - what a time you've had! Glad your sweet little twins are okay. As others have said, my hat is off to you and 1B3. With only one inside, I'm still wondering where ~7 more weeks of growth is going to fit!

((Hugs)) to Flumpootle, 1B3 and others with kids who aren't feeling well. Hang in there.

Eddas - hope you get some answers re. the rash - let us know what happens. It's not Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy (PUPPP) is it? That's a real thing and not just a tongue twister, honest!! I read about that somewhere and it doesn't sound fun! Fingers crossed for you and hopefully by the time you even read this it has gone away and all cleared up. Take care.

SOSPL - too bad about the chair I've been watching a bunch of Dutailiers on ebay for some time but I eventually gave up, too. Must admit, we succumbed and bought one new and it was delievered this a.m. Am so happy with the colour and comfort of it!! We feel okay with the decision because we aren't generally frivolous spenders and decided this is something that should last a good long time.

Warning - Disjointed musing on spending coming up: I find myself quite torn in terms of spending money on the bean. On the one hand, I grew up in the developing world and am pretty aware that you definitely don't need a coordinated nursery, all the latest gadgets, and adorable clothes in order to raise a baby well. On the other hand, you do want things to be nice and comfortable and to be of sufficient quality that they last. Fortunately, DH encourages purchases generally and has a healthy approach to money. I've got plenty of good Scotch blood running through my veins and tend to obsess and cut corners I shouldn't! Anyone experiencing similiar internal conflicts?!

Brilliant idea with the buddy system, 1B3.

Have a great day, lovely ladies!

AngeG · 22/02/2007 14:14

Mrs G has started a thread about our title Seems she misunderstood

here

flumppootle · 22/02/2007 14:19

Have just read that thread and tears are pouring down my face with laughter

We think that you are a star Ellie

maveta · 22/02/2007 14:31

Just have to say before I go any further that I just glanced at the bottom of Isabellymoi´s post and read the phrase as ´i find myself quite turned on by spending..´ LOL

ahem. as you were..shall go read properly now..

mammyjo · 22/02/2007 14:39

Hello. That little argument has made me smile when feeling like a miserable old troll. Cant believe there is a whole other thread about the title now which seems to be growing by the second!! Dont worry Ellie, if any of us found it offensive we would have said something. It has just been misconstrued by other people (can see why it could be but none of their business really anyway)!

1b3, great idea about the buddy system. Have added my details to the list.

CD, hope you got a bit of free time when your dd eventually fell asleep. Try not to stress too much over it. Hopefully it is just a one off. I never had the luxury of daytime naps with ds as he didnt sleep in the day or much in the night for that matter!

Ellie, cant believe about your temp agency. FGS, do they not keep records on anyone? Absolutely ridiculous.

Well done Becky on another dry night!!

Eddas, glad your rash was nothing to worry about but dont suppose that helps much when its annoying and itchy!

AngeG · 22/02/2007 14:44

Maveta - PMSL at being turned on by spending money

Isabellymoi
the chair is an investment! I cannot begin to count the hundreds of hours I spent in mine. We followed a feeding routine with set times for feeding etc, but even if you don't do that, it's likely you'll spend a long time in that chair!
Oh oh, I remember feeding my (long, long awaited )son, sititng in the chair, waking up at first light, thinking 'please God, don't let me be dreaming, let it be real', and I'd open my eyes, and there in my arms was the baby I'd longed for for so many years, asleep in my arms.Tears of joy would run down my cheeks, oh,oh... oh oh, and the summer morning sun was just rising, and we had all day together oh oh...

It is still used now, DH reads bedtime story in it.

Had consultant appointment yesterday, and scan all is well, and only 6 weeks to go.

Oh yes, and we are feeling pants (DRY Thomas the Tank engine pants!) DS has now been dry all day for 5 days! Party time!

flumppootle · 23/02/2007 11:10

Hi mmk

YEAH to your ds being dry, mine is 2.5 and I haven't even started yet

We are using a new thread now called Due in April - a Wholly appropriate title, I would do a link but I am not sure how to!
Maybe someone else could. See you on the new thread

flumppootle · 23/02/2007 11:11

Sorry its called Due in April- Wholly appropriate thread

mmk · 23/02/2007 11:30

We started potty training when DS was abou 2.7. It is difficult, because we didn't know where we were going, how we were going to get there, and what was involved. Anyway, it was much, much easier and faster than I thought.
We didn't hurry it, as I felt that we had 4 months before the baby arrived, and that would be enough time.
We kept really calm, until he got the idea, and it worked a treat.

Katy44 · 24/02/2007 09:09

mmk it's here - sorry there have been so many new ones!
