Oh Love i hope they get to the bottom of it soon and your dd is on the mend. Lovely pic Bigfam. You are lucky with baby Kitkat a hood sleeper is a blessing. We have good and bad nights but generally have a midnight feed and a 4am feed. Had some unsettled evenings and nights but think its colic. We've had some slow weight gain over the viral meningitis and the jabs. Lo is 12 weeks tomorrow and was only 10lb 11oz at his last weigh in last week. On weekly weights and the hvs arent worried but being a first time mum i worry about everything. Hope everyones having a nice weekend x

Mejse · 06/02/2017 07:34

love any news? I hope you and your daughter are home by now.

kitkat sounds like you have an amazing sleeper. I thought I did but the past week he has been really fussy and hard to settle in the evening. He is constantly wanting to feed but fusses at the breast and pulls away then goes a bit frantic trying to latch again and sometimes crys. There have been a few nights where he has been doing that for hours before he finally falls asleep. Once he is asleep he only wakes up for a short feed in the night.

Solomon my lo has a huge double chin too I have to clean under it a few times a day or his neck smells. He is getting pretty rolly all over though. Can't wait till the casting stage is over and I can give him proper baths again

Lovewatchingrainfall · 06/02/2017 10:19

Hopefully going home today or tomorrow. Thank you all, it's been a hard week and a harder weekend trying to spend time with both of them but separately with DD1 just wanting to see her baby sister and give her a hug.
Now baby Love has come down with a cold again. I feel so tired and just want some proper food.

Bigfam · 06/02/2017 16:47

Do they know what they're treating her for now love? I do hope you're home, at the very latest tomorrow x

They are a bit confused as her results are showing that she should be more ill then she is. So taken more blood and X-rays and will be allowed home tomorrow on antibiotics and strict instructions to go back if her temperature changes or she gets more unwell

Mejse · 07/02/2017 13:30

love it must be frustrating that they can't tell you what's wrong, fingers crossed you don't need to go back.

DS had his 3rd cast today. The physio is really happy with his progress. After this cast his foot will be in normal position and it will just be about giving him some upwards movement. Next week the doctor will come and decide how we will move forward and if he will need a minor operation or not.

I hope you and your little ones are all doing well

Bigfam · 07/02/2017 14:26

Awwww mej he's adorable!!!!

KitKat1985 · 07/02/2017 16:20

Oh I'm glad your DD can hopefully come home Love. x

That's a really cute pic Mejse with the superman outfit. x

duxb · 08/02/2017 17:36

Love hope you are home and settled.

Had first jabs today - little lady cried her eyes out but recovered quickly, is now just very clingy.

Had her weighed and is still slab bang on the 75th centile and 12lb!

Hope all are well.

Bigfam · 08/02/2017 18:29

How's littlelove doing? Hope she's ok?

Lovewatchingrainfall · 08/02/2017 22:06

We have been home for about an hour. It's been a long week, I am so tired. Looking forward to being in my bed. Got to keep going back every two days for bloods and checks until they are happy. They still don't know what it was/is but on antibiotics and see what happens when they finish.

Thank you all for your support.

NurseRosie · 09/02/2017 08:31

Glad love and littke love are home. Hope you can get back to some normality now x

stripeyorangesocks71 · 09/02/2017 11:22

I hope everyone and their little ones are ok!

We've had the 6 week HV check today and she is really pleased with baby stripey. He is bang on the 75th centile for weight which is what he was on at his 2 week weigh in. And matches his centile for the head circumference too. So I'm rather pleased! Must be doing something right! Smile

It's also rather refreshing having such a nice HV when my midwife was so crap!

Bigfam · 10/02/2017 07:14

Urgh dd3's sleep has gone to shit just when the babys is getting better. Every morning she's waking earlier & earlier. Half 4 this morning 😴 and she's hectic when she wakes up, then around 4pm she has multiple meltdowns because she's knackered.
Hope your dd is OK love

KitKat1985 · 10/02/2017 18:57

How is your DD doing Love?

Pleased the 6-week check went well stripey.

Ugh BigFam you poor thing. You must be exhausted. Can your DH get up with DD3 sometimes?

Baby KitKat is doing fine. Just turned 3 months already! Toddler KitKat not been so great though - had a bad ear infection last week and is now down with a tummy bug, which I'm hoping we don't all get. Also it's DH's birthday tomorrow and because of said tummy bug it's cocked up our plans for celebrating DH's birthday (we were supposed to having a dinner tonight with DH's family, and we had some plans for tomorrow too). Sad

Upyourdaisy · 11/02/2017 21:21

Hi everyone Bigfam here, I've name changed after I found out I couldn't hold two accounts at once, started a thread about bleeding this morning, Romy is 10 weeks today, lost some mucusy clots with tissue/membrane, after a bit of advice went in to get checked over, hospital said it's likely to be partly retained placenta and have sent of swabs, have been told to look out for signs of infection.
Hope everyone is doing OK.

Upyourdaisy · 11/02/2017 21:29

Also dd3's sleep has improved since last post, but sadly not for a good reason. She's really unwell, I took her back to gp Friday because I feel like she's still not right, I think her urine infection is still there but because the sample I took was so diluted (it looked like water) because she constantly drinks, the district showed no infection, a sample has still been sent to hospital though and results are back Monday. Anyway, today she has been incredibly lethargic, slept for 14 hours straight last night & looked exhausted a couple of hours after she woke, then fell asleep again at 12pm until 3 and is in bed now. She's been complaining her lower back hurts too, gp didn't seem worried, however I'm starting to a bit.

Upyourdaisy · 11/02/2017 21:33

District=dipstick
Sorry for the mammoth posts!

Popskipiekin · 11/02/2017 22:30

Hi Daisy/Bigfam Grin oh I hope you don't get an infection from retained placenta, can be very nasty, do keep an eye - if you have any time left to look after your own health whilst attending to your poor DC! Does sound like a urine infection that DD3 has, doesn't it, with the ?kidney pain Sad

So - DS2 had his postnatal check-up and jabs on Friday. All fine, only I brought up the fact that he breathes strangely and has a sucked in chest. Doctor said "oh that's just pectus excavatum" (aka funnel chest) and dismissed it. I have - naturally! - been googling madly and am miserable for him. Even if it doesn't affect his breathing later on - though there seems a strong link with asthma and multiple chest infections - poor kids with this can suffer from terrible self esteem and are often targets of bullying, it can look really really bad. It's quite common though... do any of you know anything about it? I appreciate there are far far worse things in life and who knows how severe it will be, but I'm tying myself in knots at how already he has problems ahead. My poor wee boy.

love, hope your DD is better! How tough for you 💐I'd have been distraught to be away from baby this early on, well done for managing, it's so hard to balance toddler and baby's needs at the best of times!

Bigfam hope you're okay, look after yourself with the retained placenta situation! Sounds tough with the bad sleep from your toddler, can you get someone to help you out a bit?

Livelyred, my baby has colic - which sounds like what your baby has too - and it's also killing me. The sleep
Deprivation is a total killer. Afraid I have no advice to offer other than be kind to yourself and try to get someone to help out if possible so you get a little break now and again. And sleep when baby sleeps!

I'm still struggling to cope with baby's colic and unsettledness, am so exhausted and quite down. Never get any sleep. On top of it we are stressing about making a major decision over whether to move back to my native Sweden or stay here, and in this case would new Ti move from our current flat before May a shadow landlord wants to sell it. So on top of it all am dealing with looking at flats, new nurseries and keeping flat nice for real estate agent photos and viewings and agonising over what the best decision is. Combined witht he sleep deprivation it's no wonder that DH and I are arguing like mad and accessing each other of ridiculous things. I feel so down and upset as I was so looking forward to our second child and now this period has turned into a bit of a nightmare.

Chookchick · 14/02/2017 05:24

London bless you, that is all too much! No wonder you are feeling like you do. It's all really bad timing and so not fair for you. Can you find some way of DH taking alternate nights or DH doing Weekend nights so you start getting uninterrupted sleep every now and again, tough in a flat, but it works for a friend of mine (earplugs and face mask help). Making big decisions when you are exhausted is not good. Maybe with some sleep it will be easier? Please be kind to yourself. Flowers

KitKat1985 · 14/02/2017 15:39

Oh no Daisy. Any news on the retained placenta. And how is your DD3 now?

Pops sorry I don't know about funnel chest. Could you speak to HV about it?

London that sounds really hard. Everything is harder for sleep deprivation too.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 14/02/2017 17:34

Thank you all for your wishes and hey wells. Big love is doing okay been in hospital with baby love due to high temp but home now and looking after them both. Had an awful week tho as car got broken into while in hospital, been feeling down looking after them both, just so drained.
