Thanks tea all done now and stayed at 13+2 so edd now 31st May. We saw the fingers and everything! 20 week scan all booked too.

oliver sorry you're feeling down but these hormones really mess with you more than we know too. I'm usually a very cold unemotional person but at the moment I'm very emotional, easily teary, easily angered etc it's all heightened. Hope you feel better soon.

Oliversmummy I really wish I had the words to make you happy. But I'm having a grumpy morning (but I don't have any excuses) so I'm not in the best frame of mind.

I know how anxious it can be to have to wait for a scan and you want to curse the NHS for not having more frequent and earlier scans but you have to put faith in the system that they know what they are doing. If you have symptoms that are a cause for concern visit your GP and see if you are eligible for an emergency scan. Having been on the receiving end of a bad scan, I will tell you this, you somehow manage to find strength you didn't have. I switched into autopilot mode and made practical decisions (although much was out of my control and hands). If there is difficult news you will know what to do and can only cross that bridge when you are there. Don't allow negative thoughts to cloud what should be a joyous time. This is all better said than done as half my brain is like 'What'?! Let's be doom and gloom

Oliver Sorry you are feeling sad today. I was feeling mega angry yesterday- today I'm just an exhausted mess!

Oliver and HighHopes Have either of you got a time for your booking in appointment yet? I'm only a couple of days behind you and finding it hard to work out whether I am behind or not.

Thanks moon the chances are that everything will be absolutely fine, and I'm worrying for nothing, but you can't help worrying, can you? Confused I have bought myself an electronic die cutting machine (as it's pay day today) so will be playing and crafting for most of the weekend while DS is at his dad's. DH is being very lovely, but bless him, doesn't really understand it and not sure what to do for the best.

rosebud I had my booking in at 7 weeks (lovely receptionist at the GP surgery booked me in then as she said I had to see MW before 10 weeks and they had no appointments at 8 or 9 weeks...) scan date came through a few days after my appointment with MW. Have you chased them up? Might be worth a phonecall?

catlady I flew to and from New Zealand when I was pregnant with DS and am doing the same this time - flying out on Boxing Day to visit family. It was absolutely fine last time - I wore compression socks just in case but it was early enough not to be any more uncomfortable than usual and late enough for me to not be feeling sick any more (flew at 16wks, back at 18wks).

Sorry you're feeling worried oliver, I think it's completely natural. Just got to keep fingers crossed and hope time passes quickly.

Oliver, any chance of a private scan for some reassurance? That's what I did earlier this week (which is good because apparently I may not get my scan before 14 weeks - ie Christmas Eve.).

Mine cost £40, and you might even find somewhere with a black Friday deal.

It's unnecessary expenditure, but if it'll help you in the run up to Christmas, its worth it, if possible.

Anyone after the Tommee Tippee Essentials Kit, Amazon have it on offer for £44.99. I'm so glad my first baby purchase was a bargain

Is this a good buy? I'm planning on bottle feeding, so need a decent set.

mumofthree I'm using an app called pregnancy+ it's got a daily blog and at the bottom of every day it has a twins/multiples section. It's ok, you can download it free but have to pay to use it past 16weeks (£2.99)

I'm with you re mood swings, my husband has been escaping to bed to avoid me when I'm grumpy.

Evening all, mojito how did your scan go?
Feel for those of you who are waiting for your scan, it drove me nuts waiting and now I am on the stretch of waiting between 12 and 20 week scan.
We had our test results back today,

Less than 1 in 10,000 for downs and less than 1 in 100,000 for Edwards and plateau so feeling more relieved again now.

Welcome to the newbies, and the lady feeling down (sorry on iPhone app so can't scroll back to message to see name) have u had a good cry? I did the other day and felt like I had got it out of my system afterwards! Xxxx

olivers I hope the brownie did the trick and you're feeling better this evening. DP has been worrying about money. It's a stressful time of year as it is, never mind when there's hormones to contend with! I also keep thinking about if anything goes wrong at the scan, I feel like I've let my guard drop by telling work and looking at baby names, and what if it's all for nothing? Again from what I can gather these are totally normal feelings and I'm sure we're both absolutely fine! It won't be long until we're like mrspage and impatiently waiting for our 20 wks scan!

I burst into tears at the end of Kill Bill 2 today! It's not even sad! I was proper sobbing when she gets reunited with her daughter Blush

I've discovered a new pregnancy obsession - fresh pineapple! Amazing! I find I've got a 'hot mouth', probably from the raised body temperature. The freshness of the pineapple is really cooling and refreshing!

Thank goodness it's the weekend!

oliver we are about the same stage and I have been very out of sorts this week. I am so very tired, I feel sick every day and I feel I am letting down dd. Last night I vomited so hard I peed myself. So all in this has not been a tip top week. I think this is a particularly tough week hormonally. This too shall pass.

Actually, I managed to enjoy my dinner this evening and actually still feel reasonably awake. Dh is out on the lash, dd appears to have settled fairly well to sleep so I have a date in bed with my book.

I have a course tomorrow which I cannot decide if I am up for it. I resent spending the only part of the day o feel well sitting in a course 1.5 hours from home. I will see how I feel in the morning - I will be annoyed with myself if I scupper my course outcome for the sake of a lie in but it is all I can focus on.

crisps i had a vomit/wee situation this morning, thankfully before my morning shower, had my Tena on all day just in case Blush

oliversmummy the odds are overwhelmingly in your favour. I had a really hard time in the weeks coming up to my scan though because of nerves and worry. Tbh I have totally changed my tune on early scans and think the cost is worth tightening you belt for, to benefit your mental health Flowers

Oh, passmethecrisps, I so get the peeing self. I've started obsessively doing kegels but I suspect the relaxin zipping around my system will thwart my efforts.

I've been for Iona test today. It'll take c.5 wd to get the results back. This is going to be hard. What with the scan yesterday and test today it's been very emotional so I'm feeling sick and tired again on the back of it. Time to cuddle a cat, eat an ice lolly and hope that the suspicious silence from my daughters room actually means she's asleep.

Walker Thankyou I am downloading it as I type x

Yesterday I got my results for downs etc, low risk, I'm so relieved, even though I would have the babies no matter what the result, hubby would struggle and it's the last thing I wanted to decide on.
I found my scan pics from dc2 yesterday, they are not as clear from 14 yrs ago! Things have come a long way! It made me emotional😢

We are spending the weekend swapping rooms, painting, building beds and wardrobes, of course I am doing no lifting!! That's what ds & dh are for!

I saw dr about my cough yesterday, it's all viral, she said 'don't exert yourself, rest and drink plenty - sorry I can't give you any advice on cough syrup because you are pregnant'
Very helpful!!

bluesky I ordered the black tippee set and extra bottles, figure even if I breastfeed as planned with twins I'm going to need to express and get help at some point! So Thankyou, it was my one and only Black Friday purchase and one for the babies xx now to start my Xmas shopping!! Anyone else as behind as me? I'm usually done by now but finding out I was pregnant and sickness stopped my Xmas flow.

Hope those feeling down perk up soon, I felt awful waiting for my scan, I had to wait til 12.6 and it was too long but I couldn't afford a private one, they are so expensive here. Believe me it was worth the wait, doubly in my case as its twins 😂

Whoops this has turned into a book - sorry xx

I dropped of the last thread after a busy few days at work. Looking forward to seeing baby again next week got NHS dating scan which will be 3 weeks since last scan so should be a big change.
Any of our south west ladies interested in Jojo Maman Bebe sale? There's a 2 day sale at the outlet shop in Newport next Friday & Saturday. I'm going to look at maternity stuff and maybe some babygros. it's really good 70%+ off normal prices. DD has loads in her wardrobe

Dizzy I love the sound of fresh pineapple for refreshing. Making my mouth water! My mouth is so parched all the time even though I'm drinking loads, it's keeping me up at night.

I am with you oliversmummy and other scan buddies! Hard not to start imagining the worst but sure all will be fine!

Morning ladies. Hope everyone has fun weekends planned. I'm loving all the pics of scans. Mine isn't for another 1.5 weeks and I'm getting nervous. Other than a bit chubby and not sleeping well I haven't got many symptoms. Let's hope there really IS a munchkin in there!

Random question any of you experienced mums been in holiday abroad later in pregnancy? I'd love to go away in the spring (ideally April so it's warm in menorca or somewhere but I need a doctors note after 27 weeks (mid march). Am I being crazy to want to travel then? Assuming baby is healthy I realise getting a doctors note is doable. I had a DD who is three but I can't remember how comfy I was at 6-7 months.

Hello all,

Feel like I've fallen off the face of the planet recently, 70hr working weeks and away from home most nights ate making keeping track slightly difficult!

Hope everyone's ok? Welcome and congratulations to all the newbies over the last couple of weeks!! Star

Loving the beautiful scan pics - and amazing news on the twins too!!

Sorry some are still struggling with nausea, I'm relieved to be feeling better, just occasionally yucky in the evenings.

Sorry to hear you're feeling down Olivers Flowers

I have my first scan on Friday 2nd, I can't wait to see what's going on in there. But the closer I get to the day, the more I'm convincing myself that something terrible's happened... anyway, onwards and outwards Blush

Morning all,

I've not managed to get on for a while so I'm trying to catch up but so much has happened!

Congrats to those expecting twins, my OH is still convinced we are, I'm veering between thinking this would be great and then thinking it would actually be absolutely terrifying...

I'm sorry some people aren't feeling great, nobody tells you how hard pregnancy is do they, particularly in the first 3 months when most are trying to keep it quiet.

I'm starting to feel a little better, the nausea has subsided to once or twice a week rather than most of the day and I do feel a bit more energetic.

It's our first scan on Thurs so I can't wait, really hoping everything is ok, I know the odds are it will be but I still keep thinking they'll say I've made the whole thing up Confused

Good morning!

I decided not to attend my course this morning and I don't feel guilty at all. I had a lovely lie in and we have had morning cuddles so everything feels better. I don't think there will be a huge impact on the outcome and I am happy to catch up so I am glad I made the call.

I have no idea how anyone manages 70 hour weeks anyway skee but in first trimester I am incredibly impressed.

I have done no Christmas shopping at all. Well, I have two presents for DD1 and a gift for my nephew which I actually got as his birthday so that doesn't really count. I used to love a mooche around the shops but I am not really in the zone. Maybe today when dd is swimming I could make a list. That would make my time worth while.

I am amazed at how many twins we have. In my last group we had two sets - do we have more here? Or does it just feel like it? Weirdly dh mentioned twins - there is no family history so almost no chance - but I got the impression he would quite like it. Certainly with dd he felt two for one would get it all done in a oner.
Thanks for the chumming on the peeing! I may tip the thread over into TMI and copious swearing - I am behaving myself at the moment

Morning everyone! Thank you for the new thread Vegan. Hope you're ok oliversmummy these hormones are funny things. Had my first scan this week and it was amazing! They moved me back a few days so now 12+1. Was totally surreal to see it's heart beating and got a lovely view of the profile of its face. Had the check for downs, Edwards and so and just waiting for the results to come back. She said it could take up to ten days but you usually know within four if there's anything significant. Hope everyone is doing well? Has anyone found any good buys in the Black Friday sales?
