Thanks for the new thread vegan

Lovely scan photos Lorrie and Munday

I had my scan on yesterday afternoon, baby wasn't in the best position for the NT measurement so the scan took ages! Lovely to see the baby for so long though, and they got the measurements in the end. Despite having a private scan less than 2 weeks ago giving me a due date of the 8th, I was measuring 12+3 yesterday, so now due on the 4th of June!

baby sorry you're struggling with the sickness, my nausea is as bad as ever but I think it passes for most people by 12-16w. Have you seen your GP? They can prescribe medication if you need it Smile

No kitty, I can't really eat breakfast at all at the moment unless I have croissants and jam in the house Grin. Usually I eat loads at breakfast time.

MissisBee · 24/11/2016 21:54

six I'm still struggling with appetite even though my nausea is improving. Dinner is the hardest meal. I had a few oven chips tonight and have just had a bowl of coco pops. I think cooking smells are the most off-putting thing

MoonlightMojitos · 24/11/2016 22:16

Thanks vegan!

I wish my appetite would die down a bit! I've put on a stone already.... I'm really worried about putting on far too much. I'm just starving all the time and don't stop eating. I'm so bloated too and uncomfortable but hungry at the same time!

Have my dating scan tomorrow so interested to see if due date changes again as it'll be my 4th scan Blush and every one so far they've moved me forward a few days. I'm so anxious. It's only been a week since my last scan but it only makes me feel better for a day or two before I panic again even though I know I'm over the danger bit now :(

Glad it's not just me missis. Cooking smells are what mainly does it for me. Once I have finished cooking the family meal the smell has put me right off eating. I can't even drink my decaf coffee because the smell of it puts me off. Hopefully it will improve by the 2nd trimester.

haveacupoftea · 25/11/2016 00:34

Thanks for thread vegan. Omg missis I need coco pops!! Yum!

13 weeks today Grin love it when I hit a week milestone and Ovia updates the size of baby's hand.

Hi all, This is my 1st post so apologies if I don't know the Mumsnet lingo yet Smile

I'm 10+3 weeks, EDD is June 21st 2017. This is my first bubba so it's all a bit weird and slightly scary for me (but also v. exciting of course!). Think I'll be able to relax a bit more after my scan on 7/12

Sore boobage & nausea aside, some of the more 'interesting' symptoms I've had are a permanently runny nose w/ no actual Cold, a nasty metallic taste in my mouth & the return of my childhood Night Terrors. Anyone else had anything similar?

VeganMama83 · 25/11/2016 03:48

These early starts for overtime at work are harsh! Just sat here putting makeup on and had 3 hours sleep since getting in from my regular shift last night! Confused

11+4 and so tired

MumofthreeandBean · 25/11/2016 04:15

preggo welcome x I've almost had a permanent cold, it's annoying!

vegan I'm laying here wide awake,I could easily have gone to work for you!!
I spent 4/5hrs asleep, dreaming about twin prams and then awoke and now I'm starving! I don't want to get up and disturb the cats or they will wake the children!! 🙄
Tummy is getting too big to turn comfortably in bed, can't imagine what I will be like in a few months.

Who can recommend a good pregnancy app?? I don't have one yet, prefer one that includes twin info xx

LorrieJ · 25/11/2016 05:43

Good morning! Did someone mention food?

I do not envy you Vegan. I couldn't function on 3 hours sleep.

Mum I'm not sure if it includes twin info but I'm using Baby Buddy which is recommended by our local midwifery team. It's British focused, so more aligned to the care pathways most of us will follow.
Have you come across TAMBA yet (I think that's the right acronym, it's something like twins and multiple births association). I think it's membership based but useful for info, connections and decent discounts at places like Clarks and Mothercare. Anyways, they may know of a good T&M app.

LorrieJ · 25/11/2016 05:48

Welcome preggo. I had rhinitis with my first but seem to have dodged it so far this time. I eventually got used to it. It does have the added benefit of dulling down the heightened sense of smell though.

SuperManStoleMyPants · 25/11/2016 06:08

Hello ladies, I didn't realise this was here!

I'm 11+3 with my first, EDD is June 13th 2017. I have my first scan next Tuesday and I can't wait to confirm everything is okay. Twins run in our family so I'm panicking about that and having the most bizarre dreams about it!

phoebe2016 · 25/11/2016 06:27

Hi Ladies.

Marking my place - I am 10-11wks, not 100% certain as no af to date pregnancy by!
Got my dating scan on 05/12, feeling nervous tbh, worrying if all is ok as when i was pregnant earlier in the year i had bad news at first scan then. My belly has already popped this time and got huge, tender, veiny boobs, so all positive signs. Trying to just go with it and what will be will be, it's out of my hands.

Lovely to see other peoples scans :)

Sixisthemagicnumber · 25/11/2016 06:34

I finally have my booking in appointment today. I have had a nightmare 24 hours so I'm not looking forward to my blood pressure reading.

Morning all!

Thanks for the new thread!!

Even though I've seen the scan and I've moved onto maternity jeans, I'm still having trouble believing I'm actually pregnant! I just feel so bloody normal! The extreme tiredness and queasiness has gone and although I'm in bed by 8pm on a night, that's about it! I know I should be grateful but it really does mess with your head! Lol

MoonlightMojitos · 25/11/2016 08:08

moose this is why I feel odd telling people I'm pregnant I think! Because now the symptoms have gone. I've had plenty of scans and it definately is a baby in there lol.

I'm still struggling sleeping though. Going to sleep is fine I just don't stay asleep, up so many times in the night tossing and turning or just wide awake again for no reason.

Dating scan at 9.30, arghhh!

I randomly vomited this morning Confused but was just bile, might need to start taking a piece of fruit or something before I get up!

Good luck with the scan mojitos. It is nerve wracking!

Welcome new mummies!

I havent suffered with morning sickness much up until now and all of a sudden as soon as 12 weeks, i've had it really badly.

On a more positive note, I had really bad constipation and that seems to have gone away now at 12 weeks so I generally feel better there at least.

I have started thinking about antenatal relaxation and would love to do antenatal yoga and aqua natal classes, but they all seem to be on during work. Ideally I wanted to start at least one of them from 14 weeks onwards.

I may have to ask work for some flexibility.

Creatureofthenight · 25/11/2016 09:21

Hello all
Just place marking.
Sympathy for all those still suffering with nausea/vomiting - I'm really hoping I'll be one of those people who feels better after 1st trimester.

Anyone after the Tommee Tippee Essentials Kit, Amazon have it on offer for £44.99. I'm so glad my first baby purchase was a bargain

DizzyNorthernBird · 25/11/2016 09:37

Morning! Place marking!

Yesterday my appetite had gone completely back to normal! I had breakfast, lunch and dinner with no need for grazing in between or huge portions. Isn't it weird how the symptoms vary so much, with some of us not able to eat at all and some of us struggling if we don't eat?!

So I caved in yesterday and told my boss. She was very understanding as she's a mum herself and admitted she's also ttc at the moment. They'll need to do a risk assessment which will mean I'm not allowed to do certain things but she's happy to let me carry on as normal until after my scan. There's only a handful of days to go so it won't hurt to wait. Afterwards I text my line manager as they're off at the moment. He was chuffed to bits for me as he knew I was having fertility tests done etc. Good positive response from everyone and it feels so good to get it off my chest!

10+3.

themoonandsixpence · 25/11/2016 09:51

Haveacupoftea that Ovia app looks amazing.

I had my first mood swing this morning my husband just laughed it off, phew at least he knows it's the hormones talking. I just had 0 patience.

oliversmummy26 · 25/11/2016 09:58

Feeling really blue at the moment, and like I could burst into tears at any minute, absolutely no reason for it, just feel really sad Sad

themoonandsixpence · 25/11/2016 10:23

Oh olivermummy that is pants. Are you able to focus on anything fun or exciting that you have planned?

Maybe treat yourself....that's my excuse for everything if your happy or sad

oliversmummy26 · 25/11/2016 10:49

I'm not really sure what to look forward to at the moment, that's the trouble. My scan is another 2.5 weeks away and so am worrying about this baby not being there when we take a look.
Christmas is stressing me out, because my DS is with his dad for the two weekends and week before Christmas. He's home with us from 23rd December though, so that's good. I'm desperate for some time off work but have run out of holiday and am worried that we're going to have no money!
Had a big chat with DH last night and basically we decided that I overthink things too much and give in to other people and must not be a push over! lol
I think I might have the chocolate brownie I bought for my lunch now! Chocolate
