hello everyone

feeling loads better this morning. Bit washed out, but maaged to get good sleep, so just taking it easy today.

SOL - sorry you had such a crap night! I keep a glass of milk by my bed for acid indigestion, also found cold chammomile tea soothing.

Katy - all your stuff sounds exciting! Going to have a closer look at slings thread.

flump - very at your nice evening!

eca · 15/02/2007 11:34

ok, am i the only one who thinks this looks a bit of a scary sling!

flumppootle · 15/02/2007 11:39

PSML that is quite a special sling eca

eca · 15/02/2007 11:40

perhaps we should all get them for a postnatal meet up!!

flumppootle · 15/02/2007 11:42

Would be more original than wearing a red rose! Can you imagine?

Katy44 · 15/02/2007 11:42

It's a kangaroo suit!!!! Just need the mask (+ a little mask for lo)

Katy44 · 15/02/2007 11:43

OK, sick of my assignment - does anyone want to write it for me? Will send BigOnion over with some home made brownies if you do.

bigandround · 15/02/2007 11:50

I should be doing a dissertation but have deferred out of the module and plan to pick it up maybe in a year or so. Just couldnt cope with the workload. Cop out I know so well done you for carrying on with yours!

Scary looking sling, the child looks like he is dangling by his neck - eek! lol at the thought of a meet up in that outfit. We would look like some sort of cult!

Katy44 · 15/02/2007 12:05

bigandround, the fact is, mine is a 5000 word assignment, and shouldn't be too bad. Think if I actually set my mind to it I could get it pretty much finished today. It's not anything like the size of a dissertation (not to mention all the research that must involve). Plus, once it's done, my course is over. So I'm feeling particularly useless that I can't motivate myself to just do it.

Maybe unplugging the network cable is the way to do it!

What are you studying, and when do you think you'll be going back to it?

BTW are you a namechanger? Don't really remember seeing you before? Are you on the stats thread?

bigandround · 15/02/2007 12:11

I am mammyjo! Just thought big and round was far more apt for the way I look and feel right now! I am doing a degree in nursing. Am a qualified nurse and work with children and my course is based around that. Got a diploma when I qualified 12 years ago so just doing the next thing with a degree. Have done 3 modules of it so only this last dissertation module to go. Dont plan to go back for at least a year if I can help it although I may be forced to depending on what the university decide.

Katy44 · 15/02/2007 12:12

Ah mammyjo! Yes, I remember you!

bigandround · 15/02/2007 12:13

Meant to say, dont feel bad about lack of motivation to do the assignment. I know exactly how you feel. Thats why I decided to leave it for a while. Just felt that I had too many other things to occupy my mind just now. What is your assignment on?

Katy44 · 15/02/2007 12:16

boring. management and service improvement.
Might try to do 3 solid hours this afternoon though.
After my lunch of course
Was being a bit unfair, it's interesting really, but I totally agree, at the moment I just have much more important stuff on my mind.

bigandround · 15/02/2007 12:19

Cant help with that one! The annoying thing is that once you get started you will probably get loads done but actually getting started is so hard (or it is if you are anything like me).

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 15/02/2007 13:42

Hi, this is a message for Katy from Kitty on the March thread. Katy don't worry. They measureit from the top of your pubic bone to the the top of your fundus, but as I said to Mossy, each personwill measure you slightly differently. With this preg I appeared not to have grown much from week 29 to 32. I was measuring 29cm each time. They sent me for scans and baby seemed small but still ok. I went for a scan again this week and there's been some serious growing from baby and my backside and now parts of him are coming up above average and fungal height ( we call it that is back on track.
It does depend on how the baby is lying when the measurement is taken but should not be dependent on your size.
One week's difference means nought

maveta · 15/02/2007 13:43

Oh Ellie that sounds really hard, do you go out for long at a time?

Had a lovely walk with my mum, check out my photos to see how beautiful the countryside around here looks in spring..

Katy44 · 15/02/2007 13:53

Oh thanks Kitty - didn't expect this level of service!
Might get the MW to measure me again at the next one to see whether we've caught up!
Thanks again

Katy44 · 15/02/2007 13:54

Ellie - hope you are OK.
maveta - can't believe how blue the sky is!!

bigandround · 15/02/2007 13:55

Ellie that sounds awful for you. I know how tired I have felt with my cold over the last week and I dont have the narcolepsy on top of it all. Hope you feel much better soon xxx

bubblez · 15/02/2007 14:03

Hello All,

Finally a thread that I have caught in relitively early stages

Lol @ the title Elliek, very apropriate....

Poor dp had a sex-less valentines day. (not that i didnt fancy it more that i did my back in) Although he did get some good gifts if I say so myself... he bought me a rose, parfume, chocs and texas hold em up poker (i asked for it) so all in all it turned out to be a good night.

CD & GMM - Hope you both feel better soon {{hugs}}
SOL - Sympathys about the heartburn.... hopefully milk etc will do the trick...
8weeks - wohoooooo!! to your last day!! have a lovely meal....

Well insomnia (sp), pannic attacks, painful braxton hicks and back/pelvis pains are all the order of the day here, along with a nice big helping of 'a stinking cold'. Oh and top it off with a misbehaving three year old (she's decided she'll do everything she knows she isnt allowed to do) equaled one hormonal and tearful breakdown a couple of days ago.. Something along the lines of "what made me ever think I'm going to be a good enough mother of two? I can't even cope with being pregnant and having a toddler" sniff, sniff, bawl, bawl

All ailments are still pressent but at least mini breakdown is over...

Oh on slightly dif subject, my mini medela electric pump came today (second hand off ebay, was not impressed with lack of pacaging and instructions). Anyway I thought I try it out make sure it works and guess what.............. milk came out!!

32+3 weeks (or 7wks and 4days to go)
BTW is anyone else pannicing about how fast dday is approaching??
xZx

muminabigtumi · 15/02/2007 14:04

Hi

Bleeeeugh
thats how I feel today!
Was up at 1.15am, 1.45am, 2.30 am, 3 am and 5.30 am with James - he just WOULD NOT SLEEP!!!
God I feel like utter crap today. Just finished work and had lunch and gonna go and have a kip before Mum brings him back...

Saw midwife today - am now measuring 32 weeks (was spot on last time) so I personally think it is all tripe - if a different person is measuring as well it's bound to be different. Baby is head down (not that it matters due to C sec! TYPICAL) and everything A ok...phew

Have caught up but mind like seive again...so jealous of you 8weeks and your last day at work.

CD - if you checkin - hope you feel better
EllieK - Hugs to you love - horrible when you have a bad day.
SOSPL - I feel your sleep deprived pain

Love to all - promise will be on with more meaningful replies to things later when I have recharged my batteries
x

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 15/02/2007 14:05

usually i manage fine, just when it hits me it really hits me!

went to bed just after 11 last night not feeling too bad, matthew got me up at 7 and made me get out of bed at 7.30, then by 8.30 i was asleep again! woke up for half hour then back to sleep again til 1pm! so yes, when i go out it can be for rather a long time!

bubblez · 15/02/2007 14:07

oh Elliek missed you post.... big {{hugs}} to you...

Bramshott · 15/02/2007 14:17

Hugs to EllieK, MIABT and all who had a bad night. Mine wasn't too bad last night, but I do find I am putting off going to bed until far too late and I don't want to do battle with getting comfortable / getting to sleep! Had a revelatory moment last night - had been so worrying about this nursery stuff, and about where to stay for a wedding we are going to in May, or where to go on holiday, and other bits, and totally despondent at my lack of ability to make any sort of a decision about anything, when I suddenly realised - it's not about nursery, or the wedding, or anything other than the fact that I find it really hard to make any decisions for after d-day, because I really, really can't imagine what it's going to be like!!! That is, having a newborn again, being a mother of 2, breastfeeding etc etc. This may sound blindlingly obvious, but it was a revelation to me! See, it's not that I'm crap, I just can't get my head round life with a new baby yet, and I know so much depends on what the baby is like so there's probably no point even trying!
