Forgot to say though, if its a lot perhaps a call to the midwife just to make sure may be a good idea if only to put your own mind at rest. If you are anything like me I dwell on things and blow them out of all proportion. When I popped my stomach muscles last week I had myself convinced I would make myself go into labour, either that or the doctor would have taken one look at me and say I needed an urgent c section!! Highly irrational at times!

CD, hope you are feeling ok today too.

Emmymummy · 19/02/2007 18:11

Pesha - Welcome back! Glad all is OK with you, even if the PC is on the blink.

WO - 3 bags??? What are you taking with you? Also agree with Maveta re. trying on 'normal' trousers - very, very bad idea. Leave it til about 2 months after giving birth is my advice, it'll only depress you! I got really paranoid about that last time. Had never, ever had love handles before having Em, and have never quite managed to get rid of them, even at my slimmest between pregnancies. My view is there's no hope this time .

Mmk - welcome. You'll need to lurk regularly to keep up though.....

SOSPL - LOL re. nesting at work - am doing the same. Have never been this organised before!

Went to see Charlotte's Web yesterday afternoon. Very sweet, but didn't need my hankie as Em decided she had to go to the loo RIGHT NOW about 5 mins before the end of the film. Cue me trying to gather our coats, bags etc. and ease our way out of a packed cinema. Almost toppled over with the effort and managed to grab a handfull of my friend's husband's arse in the process . He didn't seem to mind though....

weeonion · 19/02/2007 18:36

lol emmymummy - bet he was pleased!!

i have bag 1 for labour - facecloth, jouices, snacks, lipbalm, music,, water spray etc etc
bag 2 - post labour & hospital stay for me and the bub - pjs, more toiltries, witchhazel, arnica etc etc
bag 3 - for dp to bring to hospital for coming home - clothes for me and bub

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 19/02/2007 18:43

Hi all, welcome mmk, pleased to "meet you". Where abouts in the UK are you, or are you abroad?

CharNbump, I would agree with Mammyjo that a bit of discharge is ok, as long as it isn't wiffy or a yellowy/green.

Nutty, I hope you enjoy your first a/n session. I was quite concerned about going last night, as I don't like big groups particularly, but I just sat next to one girl, and we are still friends 4 years on.

How is everyone else?

B had a bit of a funny tummy yesterday - only a one-off, but today dh is poorly, and I have a touch of the trots as well!! Sorry tmi. What joy! I hate being unwell as well - bit like Maveta and her vomit phobia. I get in a real panic.

Hey ho, hopefully will feel better soon.

Catch you later. x

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 19/02/2007 18:45

Wow wo, you are well organised. I need to get myself together. I think once I have finished for mat leave I'll be able to focus on it better.

maveta · 19/02/2007 18:55

Weeonion that IS organised and sounds really good for helping dh know which bag I need when I´m screaming IT´S IN THE BAG, IT´S. IN. THE. BAG!!!!

SOSPL - that sounds yukky, hope you feel better soon x

maveta · 19/02/2007 18:57

By the way, can anyone tell which way round their baby is? Some people talk about it with such authority and I haven´t the foggiest. I feel what must be either a head or a bum or either knees/feet/elbows but don´t know how to tell which it is?? even when he moves from one side to the other I can´t get any idea of his orientation.

?

maveta · 19/02/2007 18:58

weeonion, I also wanted to ask how your real nappy research was going, have you bought anything yet? Are you committing to one system or trying loads of different ones out?

Katy44 · 19/02/2007 19:24

Welcome back Pesha!
And hello mmk, I've added you to the stats thread - do you know if you're having a boy or a girl yet?

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 19/02/2007 19:33

katy, will you please stop being so organised you make the rest of us look bad

how did 1st day back at work go?

OP posts:
Katy44 · 19/02/2007 19:34

How am I meant to be an effective stalker unless everyone updates the stats thread??
First day back was fine, thanks for asking - 19 days until my next week off

Katy44 · 19/02/2007 19:36

That's working days of course (are there any bank hols in Feb?)
Think we might need another new thread soon - it's just taken me about 5 mins to scroll to the bottom

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 19/02/2007 19:39

April 2007 - pains, piles and minty sperm

whadda think?

OP posts:
EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 19/02/2007 19:41

and sadly no, no bank hols
pancake day tomorrow, my birthday wednesday, but neither have been nationally recognised as a good excuse for a day off

OP posts:
EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 19/02/2007 19:42

or this -
April 2007 - minty sperm or original?!

OP posts:
Katy44 · 19/02/2007 19:48

definitely the last one!

weeonion · 19/02/2007 19:51

maveta - i have went a bit nappy crazy and tried a load of different kinds on the idea that i will find what ones i like and then get more of them later. not sure what the nappies / wraps ration shoudl be tho'. also - i bought cute fleece liners on ebay but went shopping the other day and in primark bout a HUGE white fleece jacket for £2 and now have cut it into about 30 fleece liners. a little overboard perhaps!! if so - i will just use them as wipes.

as for the bags - i am paranoid that i will go early/ be kept in after an AN appt etc and just want all doen. also- dont want to forget anything. if i had to rely on dp to bring me in clothes - i wouldnt have pants and would be wearing an evening gown or my fav clubbing size 8 velvet trews.

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 19/02/2007 19:54

new thread here then

Due April 2007

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 19/02/2007 19:57

Ellie, loving the planned new titles for the next thread!

WO, pmsl at the potential wardrobe your dp might turn up with for you! Men really have no clue do they!

There have been many times when I have had to apologise to preschool for the ensemble that Becky has been dressed in!

runnyhabbit · 19/02/2007 20:17

Hello everyone

Whoever started this minty sperm thing has got a lot to answer for My heartburn has been really playing up, esp in the middle of the night. Cue me grabbing the Gaviscon, but as soon it hit my throat, all I could think of was minty sperm. Nearly threw it back up

Hi mmk - due date buddy!

Feeling rather emotional today. sorry in advance for the swearing. Boss has been acting like an effing t**t today. New sales rep came in today, started talking about pregnancies etc, and about having 9 months off paid. Before I could take a breath, boss said "there's no way she's having 9 months off" completely straight faced. What an arsehole. I used to think he was a good guy, but he has gone down dramatically in my estimation.

Then had to go and pick something from dh office (cos he's away this week) and he told me to play on my SPD, because he's told them that's why he's been on sites late a few times. WTF?? Apparently, he's told them he's had to help me get ready in the mornings!!?? I know I have SPD, but I'm pregnant fgs, not ill, and that upset me too. I've been feeling like a bad mum because I feel too tired to play with ds in the afternoons, so tonight completely broke down on the phone to dh. Felt so much better afterwards, but tbh I don't think he realised how much peoples comments upset me.

Feel so much better after writing it down. Maybe I'm just having a few "blue" days.

Pancake day tomorrow....mmmmmmmmm

xx

muminabigtumi · 20/02/2007 08:15

Just bobbing in to say Hi before I go and catch up with you all!
I read some yesterday but had no energy to post and now can't remember a great deal - although EllieK - I agree with you re Happy Feet - it was a BIG dissapointment!

Hope everyone is feeling ok - I am a bit brighter was up again last night with James three times - I really wish I knew what was causing him to wake up - it is just strange when he has slept through for 2 and a half years that he is waking up now....of course I start worrying that it is cos he knows baby is coming etc...I'm trying to see it as a positive in that I am getting quite used tothe broken sleep now so it may help me alot when baby comes!

Had one of those busy days yesterday where you don't do anything exciting butyou are busy non stop food shopping, cleaning bathrooms, working, picking up James from nursery etc so last night I had a long soak in the bath and watched my tummy wriggling around and had an early night.

I am off today and it looks like it may be ok weather wise so am going to take James to soft play this morning and then this afternoon get into the garden and do some planting in pots - James can have his own to water!
Right off to see what you have all been up to
x

mmk · 21/02/2007 13:04

mumin a big tum

Our 2/12 year old has suddenly started waking sometimes 2 or 3 times a night. (He has slept right through from about a year). He is halfway through potty training and the nursery staff told me what wakes him is the feeling of needing to pee.

Bramshott · 21/02/2007 13:21

Hi again MMK. We're such a chatty lot that we've started a new thread since yesterday! Scroll down a little and you'll see where EllieK has done a link, or just look for the one with "minty sperm" in the title!!

mmk · 22/02/2007 10:52

thank you all for the warm welcome, if you are a mad lot, I'll be well suited here!

I am shocked at how much stuff I had for our first baby- they must have put out the welcome mats at Mothercare when they saw me coming. Our nursery looks like a junk shop! Most love item of all is a travel system that DH drove to France to collect (the UK version was in ugly colours). Pushing it with DS in was the happiest thing in my entire life, can't wait to do it all again.

Are you all feeling good out there?
