Morning all.

Eddas, I am ashamed to say dd is 4 at the end of May, so it is about time really!
The trouble is she drinks sooooo much, which is great, but not great for weeing!

I am pleased to report though that we had another dry night last night - hurrah!

How is everyone today?

Need to go, as working today.

See you all later!

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 19/02/2007 07:51

dry night - excellent news!
i'm still dreaming of the day those arrive!!!

Eddas · 19/02/2007 09:14

SOSPL, don't be ashamed doesn't matter what age she is as long as she's dry by 21!!!! Well ok maybe 5

Well done on the dry night again, bet it feels great, she must be very proud of herself

My dd also drinks a lot which is why she's still wet at night I think plus she's a fantastic sleeper so waking for the loo might be an issue. Last night she slept from 6.30pm til 8am. But she did have a late night on saturday (8.30pm and woke at 7am).

Pesha · 19/02/2007 09:40

Hello all, I'm back!!! Well for now I am! Monitor for computer has broken, lg keep saying they will bring replacement so we stay in all day and they dont turn up. DP has finally brought his laptop round for me to use although its driving me mad!

I cant believe ive been gone so long and missed so much, dont think ill ever be able to catch up properly the rate we talk! And i definitely wont onthis stupid thing!

Anyway ive not even checked my emails yet and have otherthings to do butwill come back later to try catch up at least a lttle bit! Perhaps someone can brief me on any major events I may have missed - is everyone ok? Has anyone had a baby yet?!

All is fine with me, bump is huge! Although im slightly woried today as since yesterday his movements seemed to have slowed down and be smaller and he justseems quite lethargic compared to how he was but am waiting a few hours to see how he gets on, if he's still not moving much ill ring midwife i think.

1becomes3 · 19/02/2007 10:52

Hope you all had a good weekend.

I can't believe that I took the piss out of poor DH telling him he had caught a kiddie cold from DD, even though he was saying he was feeling really really ill.
So as punishment I have been in bed with the flu that DH has given me since friday.
Both DD and I have been chucking up "green snot sick"
God I have never had the flu this bad, don't think that being PG helps.
And just to make our life even more fun we have the SS coming to stay for a few days.

I really hope no one else on here has this terrible flu.

Anyway I'm off to do tesco shopping then back to bed. [feeling sorry for myself emotion]

Birdiebump · 19/02/2007 12:06

PESHA - wonderful to have you back!!! You may not know but there has been a lot of worry about you on this thread so it is great to know that all is well and you are as huge as the rest of us .

I haven't been on for a few days, still not sleeping, back at work after 3 weeks(!) off sick with horrible flu so no time to read through last couple of days but will be back soon....

1B3 - sorry to hear you are feeling lousy as well - hope it doesn't last as long as mine.... [[[[[[[[[hugs]]]]]]]]]] to you.

Birdiebump · 19/02/2007 12:08

Oh and Pesha - just read your msg properly (!) no one has had a baby yet, everyone is fine (fingers crossed emoticon) although lots of feeling miserable with one ailment or another.

Re your LO not moving as much - this is to be expected as their space runs out. They tend to go quieter at the end but by all means have it checked out for peace of mind.

maveta · 19/02/2007 12:09

Morning! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. We were run off our feet with preparation all day saturday for the family lunch yesterday. All went really well, everyone loved the house and the food, they didn't overstay and by 4.30pm we had the house to ourselves again. Dh was even sad they didn't stay longer, I have NO idea why, my back was killing me after constant cooking and washing up and I was dying to get in the bath and relax.

Another week of work commences.. only 5 more to go after this. SOB! Have jigged and rejigged the accounts over again but there is no way I can sneak away sooner. I wish. I'm so BORED. There's not much work to do so time is dragging and all I can be bothered doing is looking for baby related things on the net and of course MN!!

maveta · 19/02/2007 12:10

Oh yes - WELCOME BACK PESHA!! You have been very missed but have not actually missed anything just the usual aches and pains, moans and groans from all of us

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 19/02/2007 13:00

Pesha, welcome back. People have been well worried about you!

1b3, really sorry to hear you are feeling so grotty. Hope you feel better soon.

Maveta, glad the lunch went well. What a mammoth task; I don't envy you that one!

Nothing to report here. At work and quite busy. Also beginning to fret about leaving and almost wanting to do "nesting" at work - tying up loose ends etc.

Right, need to head as bump needs feeding.

See you later. xx

eca · 19/02/2007 13:51

hi pesha! good to hear from you!

Sorry you're feeling so ill 1b3! Sounds awful. Lots of rest for you.

Glad sunday was ok Maveta! Phew!

Hurrah for a dry night SOSPL! Well done Becky.

I'm feeling ok today. REally beginning to stress about my PhD. Not done any work on it for ages and sat down at desk today. Totally unmotivated! Spent most of the morning stressing to dh about it all, so still not getting on. Brain feels like mush and all I really want to think about is babies! Oh well, i guess that's part of the package. Just need to slog it out as much as I can. Ugh!

Hope everyone else is ok. Can't believe you had so long off Birdie! Poor you!

nuttygirl · 19/02/2007 14:00

Nice to see you Pesha.

Glad the family gathering went well for you Maveta.

Well our shower seeems to work ok and also got cupboard painted. Hopefully DH will put the rail up in it tomorrow night and I can start putting all the baby stuff back in it!

Got all baby bedding stuff washed this weekend and packed hospital bag. Feeling much more organised now .

First antenatal class tonight...not too sure what to expect but hoping it'll be useful. Bit scared about meeting other people etc cos I'm really shy. Sometimes think people take my quietness as being uninterested or a bit snobby IYKWIM. Also hoping class is not going to involve too much moving about and stuff cos my hip is really sore, did something to it yeaterday and it was bad all night.

maveta · 19/02/2007 14:22

nuttygirl - I'm sure there shouldn't be too much moving around.. in our antenatal 'exercise' class the most strenuous it gets is something that vaguely resembles side leg lifts, although a very pregnant version! Embarrassingly enough, they still knacker me out though

I can't remember who needed uses for muslins?? Just saw another one today..someone had the baby car seat clicked onto their travel system and had draped a muslin over the top, between the back of the seat and the upright handle, to make a sunshade for the baby. Miracle items indeed!

Eca - good luck motivating yourself, if you find out how to do it can you let me know??

mmk · 19/02/2007 15:30

Hello, I'm new here. I'm feeling a bit of a freak. I'm 45 and expected our second on 10th April. I'm temping (in an office full of young guys!) and have 3 weeks more to go at work.

I'm feeling quite well, which is scaring me!.

We've started preparing the nursery-worrying that it is too early. I've also started my hospital bag. I'll be having a c-section, due to a sad event in the past.

We also have a 2 year old.

maveta · 19/02/2007 15:36

Hi Mmk, welcome to the april thread! If it is too early to start the nursery or hospital bag, you are not alone by any means! We need to paint our spare room but apart from that we're almost there. Just missing a mattress for the cot but as the baby will be in the moses basket first we have time to sort that out. And I'm not due til 2 weeks after you! You're in good company

Smole · 19/02/2007 15:47

Welcome mmk. The only reason our nursery isn't done is because I'm waiting until after the birth 'cause it needs clearing out and DH will never do it.

I'm due on 13th April and I started buying for my hospital bag on Thursday!!

1becomes3 · 19/02/2007 15:54

Did anyone catch "miracles in the womb" on C4?
Really p off cause I missed it.

1becomes3 · 19/02/2007 15:57

oooops welcome mmk- Don't worry your not alone I have packed everthing, washed everthing and set everthing up now!
Haven't got another car seat yet!
Or a pram!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 19/02/2007 16:26

welcome mmk!
i feel it only fair to warn you, we are all completely mad
to be fair tho it's me and Katy that are worst, still, we were quite well behaved last night, i thought

OP posts:
weeonion · 19/02/2007 16:44

girlwaspbelly - how did you get on with a w'end of the inlaws?
1b3 - i did indeed catch miracles in the womb and you are in luck lady - i taped it as i thought some of us might want to see it. if i send you it - will you get it back to me as my wee sis and bro (twins) also want to watch it!
maveta - is all yr dried good safely decanted into the tupperware? glad the family do went of well - is it to be a monthly affair??
mmk - hello to you. nice to have you here!we finished our nursery at the weekend, my 3 hospital bags are packed, teh baby clothes are washed - so you seem to be in familiar ground!
nutty - hope all goes well tonight at the class. i am enjoying mine - not for what we are meant o be learning but for the social bit. dp is really shy and he had a real laugh last week as well.
elliek - with you on the high heels - love them! not so much stillettos - the thighs, bum and hips are a bit too big to carry them off now.
pesha - good to have you back!
birdie - poor you being ill - it really seems to take it out of us at the mo'.

sorry if i have mised folk out - MIABT, katy44, SOPL etc - hope you are all ok!

charity shops- yep i love them. i think i inherited that from my mum. i have got some really lovely baby stuff - the wee ladies at my local one are now keeping aside "good" stuff - next. gap etc. i have got most stuff for 20p an item. bargains!

ask a silly question. I tried to get my old pre pg trousers on last night- knowing full well that i wouldnt get them fastened but i couldnt even make them go past the hips. i burst into tears and couldnt even tell dp what the problem was.. please reassure me that i am not the only one???

maveta · 19/02/2007 16:53

Oh WO - why why WHY did you try the old trousers on? My sister asked me the other day if I had tried that and I was horrified. Why would I do such a thing to myself. You are only insane for having attempted it, I avoid it like the plague knowing I would be in tears all night at the result! I am getting VERY concerned about the amount of dimples on my arse and ask dh about 5 times a day if he thinks I'll ever be slim again . And of COURSE I don't believe him when he says yes.

The lunch will NOT NOT NOT be a monthly thing but wasn't so awful and if we can just get more plates and cutlery in so that when it does happen again it won't involve scrounging bits and pieces off all and sundry it will be easier. But methinks it will be a while before we repeat. Unless they all take over the house and I receive visitors regally from my bed

The tupperware is FABULOUS. My cupboards look so beautiful. How long can it last?

Now PUT DOWN THE TROUSERS and back away.

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 19/02/2007 16:59

wo - be reassured, you are not the only one!

charNbump · 19/02/2007 17:01

hi ladies!

ok, i've been feeling paranoid and wanna ask something very similar to what "8.5 weeks" brought up the other day......
it may be TMI but....
How usual is it to be 'damp' in "that area" around 32 weeks? I'm really wondering if its anything to worry about or if its just another pleasantry of being in later pregnancy?
ANy advice would be gratfully received!
xxxxxxx

mammyjo · 19/02/2007 17:56

Hi all. Char, dont be embarassed, anything goes here I think! Personally I think its relatively normal to get a bit more discharge down there as long as its not offensive smelling or a funny colour. (not purple you understand, but maybe green/yellow. Sounds gross I know but its what my midwife said to me). I use pant liners for that very reason and needed to when pregnant with ds1 too. Hope that helps!

SOSPL, hope Becky can give you another dry night tonight!

Maveta, well done on your huge lunch. I would have been ready to drop with all that washing up and cooking too. I find I struggle a bit now as my belly is in the way when standing at the sink or hob!

Welcome mmk, good to meet you. Good luck!
