Emmymummy - Sophie is lovely and would have been one of my girl choices too, but...don't laugh...it was the name of DH's CAR!

Eddas · 18/02/2007 14:59

Can anyone explain why my dh has just bought an incomplete subuteo(sp?!) set from ebay for £11?!!

Good god men are stupid!!!

mammyjo · 18/02/2007 16:09

Wow, its quiet on here today. I am so tired today. I feel exhausted now like I did back in the early stages. Due date is 6 weeks today so not long left now.

Hope everyone is well and having a good Sunday.

Eddas, there is no answer to the incomplete subbuteo set. Men are a law to themselves which I dont think we will ever understand!

CaptainDippy · 18/02/2007 16:52

My sympathies are with you Eddas. I am v.sorry for your loss. I am afraid there's no logical explaination I can come up with for this sort of behaviour. {{{hugs}}}}

LOL Katy44 - The name of his car - Oh dear!! Then again, DH's 2nd car was called William so I can understand....

V.tired too mammyjo - just want to go to bed. Thinking the girls are coming upstairs to stalk me so had best go before they catch me .....

Bugmum · 18/02/2007 19:04

Eddas Told DP about your man's purchase. Very good idea, he said, It'll be fun for him, looking for the other bits.
He was serious

8andahalfweeksandcounting · 18/02/2007 19:22

Evening all!

Maveta - I concur with Liath about totsbots bamboozles

We too have subbuteo - but also various sets of teams! and scaletrix...

May go to Manchester tomorrow to see my sister for the week - so don't worry if don't hear from me. due back next saturday.

Off for nice dinner with dh and then top gear!

Eat as many pancakes as you can and have a great week

54daysandcounting · 18/02/2007 19:24

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 18/02/2007 19:36

hey all

didya miss me?

OP posts:
Eddas · 18/02/2007 19:40

Mmm bugmum, dh's reply to my 'it's not even bloody complete', was well i can buy the other bits!!!! So this 'i got it coz it's cheap'(really cheap?!!) purchase will now cost the earth whilst he looks for the other bits.

Good grief

I wouldn't mind but we are stuck for cash and selling a few bits on ebay to get in some money. Oh well. Was thinking of asking the seller to let me off my bid and blaming a non-existant ds for hopping on the computer and bidding whilst I wasn't looking, what do you think? The nest bidder's bid was 50p less so they wouldn't be losing anything really.

Ho hum, sorry to ramble on about it but when you're trying to clear the crap in your house it's really irritating to gain some more!!!

On a more pg note I've got 2 weeks left at work (4 days!) so can't wait. Got too much to finish off in the time but won't be my problem in 2 weeks so don't give a rats bottom!!!

May pop out in a bit for some chips, oo and maybe some fish or a sausage.

Decisions, decisions

eca · 18/02/2007 19:50

hi all

CD - glad you're doing ok and back with us clocking up the posts!

54 - have alovely week. Hope your sis spoils you and you have a great time.

Mammyjo - i'm feeling knackered too this weekend. I've hit 32wks and bump has had a bit of a growth spurt and it's taken it out of me!

Hope everyone else is ok. I've been bouncing on my ball trying to get baby to turn! HA! No such luck, the little love will occasionally swim halfway round (making me feel very achy and sick) and then bottles it and goes back to sitting up!

Had a dinner party last night. Was lovely to have a few people over, but was so tired and just wanted to lie down after dinner, but couldn't - obviously! Dh got mucho brownie points from me for doing home made profiter rolls for dessert -yumeeee!

An uncle of mine has dug out an old oak rocking cot that he made 20yrs ago for us. It's lovely, but i'm worried it's a bit impractical! For a start I now need to find a cot matress that is 112cm long and 53cm wide! Not sure if there's anything close out there (think modern cots are shorter and fatter). Anyone got any ideas where to look?

The other prob is that the base to the top of the rails is only 36cm deep. So, it's not going to last very long. Once the lo can sit up/pull itself up, it's going to be quite dangerous! It's a lovely gesture, but with all the stuff about properly fitting matresses etc I'm a bit worried it's just going to take up lots of room! Think we might use it downstairs as a naptime cot.

eca · 18/02/2007 19:53

Hi ellie, how was your w'end?

Eddas - def blame on imaginary son! I would not be letting such things in my house at the moment! Trying to clear out crap, not get more!!!

muminabigtumi · 18/02/2007 19:56

Thanks Yvie for that re the Cot top changer in babiesrus, I would want the antique pine one so will go and have a look instore as it is sold out online.

Mammyjo - do you know I had never considered just changing baby in the cot - feel like a bit of a doufus now....may do that and just save myself some cash!!

54days...glad all is ok - and you made it back out of hospital, like you say - a bit early just yet...your story about the woman in hospital brought back memories for me...I had a NIGHTMARE woman in the bed next to me for 3 days after I had James (was in for 10 days in total) - I remember drifting off to sleep off the effects of my GA to the sound of her and her husband having a row over his parents...it got worse - every time I drew my curtain round for privacy she would come and open it and sit on my bed and natter away at me - In the end I had to be quite rude and tell her that when I drew my curtain round it meant I wanted peace and privacy!!! SOME PEOPLE!!

Had a bit of an off couple of days - been very weepy and tearful. Getting myself all worked up and anxious over c-sec (brought on after watching an episode of Birth Days on Living) and then got hardly any sleep last night - asked Phil 3 times to move into James bed and he ignored me so I ended up on couch in tears at 3 am. I was so fed up. He was extremely apologetic in the morning (he had been drinking and claims he didn't hear me of feel me kicking him....
So I think it is just tiredness. I really didn't feel up to going to PIL today but did and just feel like I sat there all day wishing I was asleep, bless my MIL - she cooked me a lovely dinner and I just feel like I wasn't much company really today.

Hi EllieK - yes we missed you! How are things...hope you are feeling better and things are going ok with Steven.

Love to everyone else - apologies if have not mentioned someone - head is fuzzy - think I shall go and watch Happy Feet in bed (Phils cousin got it for James on DVD)
x

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 18/02/2007 20:02

Hello everyone,

Ellie, hope you had a good weekend.

Back to work for me tomorrow
But only for four weeks (and most of those will be spent preparing for ML which gives me the excuse to think about babies all day long
or be made redundant [ambivalent smiley]

Katy44 · 18/02/2007 20:03

Where are you going?

eca · 18/02/2007 20:03

aha! just found website where they do made to measure cot mattresses www.babydreams.co.uk. Only prob is looks like it's going to cost me about £40! Great.

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 18/02/2007 20:06

Katy44 · 18/02/2007 20:07

Am I normal? OK - no insults please that's not a general question! I've started to notice incredibly dry skin on my chest, under my arms and on my boobs. Is this something else I can write off to pregnancy or am I just a big peeling wreck?

eca · 18/02/2007 20:07

miabt - sorry to hear you've had an off couple of days. It's understandable you're going to be a bit anxious about c-s. Esp if you've seen something scary on tv! grr to dh too! hope a bit of Happy Feet therapy helps!

Katy44 · 18/02/2007 20:08

Have fun
That reminds me -gmm has gone away this week, hasn't she?

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 18/02/2007 20:09

katy, is there anyone you are not personal stalker to?!

OP posts:
Katy44 · 18/02/2007 20:10

I reserve it for gmm!
No, we are meant to be having a north east meet up this week, and I remember saying she would have come...only she was going to barcelona. What a dilemma.

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 18/02/2007 20:10

ooh, and as official link to the wider world of mumsnet, any chance of a link to the PFB thread as I can't find it?

OP posts:
eca · 18/02/2007 20:11

ellie - have been to many a conference at skeggy butlins!

katy - i've had lots of dry skin. beauty therapist told me that to avoid stretch marks moisturize from knees to neck. Have been doing that and it's helped with the dry skin.

Katy44 · 18/02/2007 20:14

Birdiebump - thanks for putting your original name on the stats thread!
