Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

We told parents on Christmas day which was amazing!!! But we're telling other people - brothers, sisters etc after our first scan. This is my first baby and I've got a friend who suffered many miscarriages so we're being super careful.

Carlotta82248 · 26/12/2016 22:26

Just a huge thank you to those that have given their kind words. I truly appreciate it during such an exciting time for you, it's been very comforting x

hrfvenia · 26/12/2016 22:44

Anyone else currently feeling like death warmed up, convinced they'll never have the pleasure of not feeling sick, being comfortable and not feeling as if one is about to turn into a crying fountain of tears every 3 seconds?

Cause I am 😡

7+4 today, told parents & inlaws so far. feeling so tired & so ill! most of the day is constant nausea/headaches/struggling to eat :(
hoping the nausea lifts soon

TMI26 · 27/12/2016 00:03

Jaffa cakes, same... :( not been sick but put off by all food which sucks because I'm starving, the only think I can stomach is fruit and WOW a lot of expectant mothers my Ed is 10th btw

Cocochops · 27/12/2016 00:27

Happy Christmas all! Obviously not posting enough this thread dropped off threads I'm on list. Scrolling back to catch up now.

So we survived Xmas without telling anyone which I am happy about - whether my parents believed my non drinking reason or have guessed the truth is another story!

Think i am safe to avoid others suspicions now as I did dry Jan last year so am 'doing' it again this year. No nye plans and hopefully should have 12 week scan at the end of Jan.

Feeling pregnancy is going a bit faster now anyway.

OkyDoke · 27/12/2016 10:17

Hope everyone has had a nice Christmas, and hasn't been suffering too much! I have had an awful cold which has won out over tiredness and sore boobs. The ache in my abdomen seems to have died down for now which is great. I have entirely gone off chocolate through which is very unlike me! Despite this and not drinking I have put on 3lbs already which I am not impressed about! Already overweight so was hoping not to put too much on. Not sure what I'm doing wrong!

ZigAZigAhh · 27/12/2016 10:17

Managed to get through Christmas without raising too many suspicions thanks to DH taking strategic sips of my glasses of wine (and finding excuses to go into the kitchen to tip it down the sink at regular intervals).

My appetite is fluctuating loads - I'm either feeling ropy as hell and dry heaving into the toilet with food being the last thing on my mind, or STARVING to the point of tears and needing food IMMEDIATELY!

Only 6+1 - it feels like there is a looooooong way to go.

Great work on the EDDs jaffacakes - according to the NHS calculator thingy mine is 23 August Smile

ZigAZigAhh · 27/12/2016 10:21

Oky - I have completely gone off chocolate too (which is unheard of)! I was given loads for Christmas and it is all sitting untouched in a cupboard...

firsttimer12345 · 27/12/2016 10:34

I was given loads of booze for Christmas - 10 bottles of wine I think!

Have been really poorly the last few days. Full of a cold, nauseous and a bladder infection which doesn't seem to be clearing up anytime soon so feeling very sorry for myself.

We told parents and siblings on Christmas Day, everyone very happy!

MrsG280516 · 27/12/2016 10:55

Firsttimer my grandad gets everyone in my family booze for Christmas so I have a huge bottle of vodka sitting in my kitchen that I can't touch. Also got a magnum of prosecco (although I dished that out last night to family) and another special gold bottle of prosecco that is going to be saved.

OkyDoke · 27/12/2016 10:59

I ate one single chocolate from a box of Roses yesterday. One. Got lots of booze too which will be sitting in the wine rack until I can get rid of it!

Blink1982 · 27/12/2016 11:08

Ladies. I'm touching wood right now. I think I've turned the sickness corner wooooo. 9wks today and I've managed to have my first cup of tea in three weeks and I didn't heave at it!!

WantingBaby1 · 27/12/2016 11:47

Hi ladies, merry Christmas!

Sorry to hear a lot of you are feeling under the weather.

I haven't had spotting (yet) but when I had my first Dr apt at 4 + 2 I was told it's common at 5 and 6 weeks and will likely be implantation bleeding.

Had a lovely Christmas with all the family. Nausea is being kept at bay by travel bands. Told everyone here so no need to hide the effects. Took the pressure off. Missed the champagne and pate even more so! Worth it though. I've always had such a sweet tooth but now all I want is savory. Is anyone else like that?

Kirstyinnorway · 27/12/2016 12:23

Ooh yes wanting, all I want is cheese/crisps!

Kirstyinnorway · 27/12/2016 12:23

(Thanks for the message about spotting). X

TMI26 · 27/12/2016 12:33

Strange about the chocolate coco and zig, im off all sweet things too, I have had a Ferraro rocher in my bag for three weeks and have not been tempted which is totally unlike me... the only thing I can stomach is juice and fruit...surviving off inventive fruit salads at the moment...still no nausea AH

bluesdetoi · 27/12/2016 13:14

I planned to go sales shopping today with my sister, but nausea got the best of me. Ive been in bed all day and haven't eaten a thing. This is going to be a tough pregnancy if this is any indicator. Blush

firsttimer12345 · 27/12/2016 13:57

Chicken nuggets and bread here. Even normal chicken doesn't appeal! Had been doing slimming world so haven't had bread since July until now.

Fieldsandgrasses · 27/12/2016 14:04

I've suddenly started feeling awful in the afternoons... shattered!

Sparklyuggs · 27/12/2016 14:07

wanting I'm the same, I have a real sweet tooth but now I really want salty foods, especially bready type things. I'm gluten intolerant which makes it tricky.

I find that Rude Health ginger and tumeric oatcakes really help with nausea/ms, they're plain in terms of fat and sugar.

It was just the two of us for Christmas, so it was very relaxed, I don't think I could have coped with a big family gathering of my aunts, cousins etc as I wouldn't want to tell them yet as they would tell everyone they've ever met.

Got my midwife appt on Thursday Smile I'm hoping to have another scan at 10 weeks as I'm getting the Harmony test done and they scan when they do the bloods.

Oggy88 · 27/12/2016 14:10

Full blown nausea today, for the first time, at 6+3! I've never felt so awful before! Ever! I love it!Grin

MrsG280516 · 27/12/2016 14:20

Off chocolate here too and really only fancying savoury things. Potatoes/pasta are my main food groups right now as everything else isn't appetising at all. Had some nausea this morning but went for a walk then had a bacon sandwich and I feel better now :)

MochaChocaChino · 27/12/2016 14:36

Hi everyone

Managed to survive Xmas here without telling anyone and don't think I aroused too much suspicion (thanks to non-alcoholic wine from Sainsbury's looking similar to prosecco!) my hubby hid the bottle and we topped my glass up in the kitchen all day Wink

Great news on the tea Blink! :)

I'm eating everything in sight... currently catching up on MN tucked under duvet while DS naps - eating most of a chocolate orange Grin Having said that mornings are the worst can't even stomach water until at least 10am then it's like I'm a hoover! 🙈

Counting down to Friday for my booking in apt with midwife. Getting nervous that I'm not feeling very "pregnant" some days and having bad dreams so hoping everything is ok. Can't wait to get my scan date. Haven't bothered with a private one although might do if I keep having dreams!

Enjoy the rest of the festivities everyone and hope the sickness eases for some of you soon x
