Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Hello Trenzalor, matching due date with you too! Congratulations on your early Christmas present. I'm sure the job stuff will all work out for the best Smile
Are you feeling any symptoms yet?

Trenzalor · 23/12/2016 21:08

Exhaustion (nothing new there), breathless and a bit of nausea/bloated feeling. Same as last time. I think the super smell may be developing as well! How about you?

Oggy88 · 23/12/2016 21:28

Ladies, is anyone else having sore stomach muscles? As if after some exercise?

Oggy88 · 23/12/2016 21:32

Think I started feeling it about 2-3 days ago (I'm 6 weeks). Actually quite pleasant feeling, as if I worked out Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 23/12/2016 21:36

6 weeks and 2 days here.

No nausea or sickness but I'm really tired all th time and am having at least one nap a day. I'm also getting very breathless anytime I climb a flight of stairs.

Boobs are heavy and nipples are sore. Yesterday I even had some milk coming out which I'm guessing is some residual milk from when I was BF'ing DS which I haven't long stopped doing.

I napped today from 2.30 until about 4.30 but now I feel exhausted again. I'm going to make myself stay up until 10pm so I don't seem too pathetic and then I'm going to bed Grin

Kirstyinnorway · 23/12/2016 21:45

Not much really Trenzalor. I seem more tired than usual, but I exist on caffeine normally and of course have dramatically cut that down now (two cups of tea a day max!) so I don't know if it's that... Plus my parents were staying so that was hard work. Or maybe it's my "poppy seed"! Also I think my boobs might be sore today? But I had a tighter bra on. Who knows?! Grin

No sore tummy muscles for me oggy, that does sound funny!

Fattycowagain · 23/12/2016 22:54

Today, my boobs suddenly felt really full again. Haven't had that for quite a while now, so I suspect the new baby caused it!

Fattycowagain · 23/12/2016 23:04

I'm worried about one of the Christmas dinners we are having. We both have a big family and loads of friends, so every year we are fully booked from Christmas Eve until New Years Eve with get togethers, which all include eating. I know I'm safe at the inlaws, as it is a buffet and I can just pick whatever I fancy. At my mum's, I have helped pick out the menu and carefully steered her away from anything 'bad'. Most other things are eating out (so I can pick my own meal) and we are hosting one day. But there is one day where I have no clue what we'll be eating. Fingers crossed it is 'safe' food!

I intentionally put the quotation marks around bad and safe. I avoid raw meat and such, but I'm not really scared of eating them. The risk with those kind of foods is just the risk of the woman getting sick with listeria or salmonella and the sort, which can make a person really really really ill. But it won't hurt the baby immediately, as your body is geared to protecting it. Still, I prefer not risking it!

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 23/12/2016 23:26

Hi everyone.

Today was my first and only day in work this week. I've just been too sick. It was not great but I made it through the day. I was so grumpy and tired when I came home that I don't think I was very nice to dh. . At least now I have annual leave until January.

We had our early scan tonight. It was nice to see, everything as it should be and a lovely flickering little heart. Made me feel better. I still don't want to tell the world about the pregnancy but we might tell our brothers. Our parents already know.

I can't guarantee I'll be on my phone constantly over Christmas, but when I am online I'll still be adding people to the Facebook group if they pm me with an email address. Any of the Facebook group members can add people so if anyone is particularly attached to technology they can volunteer to do that if they want.

TMI26 · 24/12/2016 01:03

Trenzalor, typical...just when you least expect it, I was the same, I was always cautious about planning things because I thought what if....until a few months ago when I thought sod it I'm just going to live life as it comes, then bham pregnant! Tired of feeling nautious, I find tangerines help

Socially great news on the scan must have been so relieving! I went to get my bloods done for thyroid today but will not get results until Thursday, still have not increased my dosage on drs guidance but have stopped taking vitamins n C timed release capsules (which r awesome by the way in helping absorb the thyroxine) I almost want to self medicate but am too scared! When I showed the doc the article she said apparently different machines have different tsh ranges (WHATTTTT?!?!) anyhooo dragging now night everyone xx

swimchick1980 · 24/12/2016 08:08

Congratulations to al the new joiners!

Has anyone else been having a bit of bleeding? I had a bit around when my period was due which I also had with DC1 but (sorry for TMI) every time i go for a poo (pees are fine) I have a bit of bleeding. Never loads and don't to wear a sanitary towel or anything but I really wish it would go away!

I'm thinking of getting an early scan after heading so many lovely stories of heartbeats. Does it need to be around 8 weeks out so for that?

I'm so paranoid this time around as waited for so long and, as a few others have said, it feels like a wee Christmas miracle xx

WantingBaby1 · 24/12/2016 08:22

Hello newbies! Congratulations!

Lovely to see you here hells Grin

So lovely to hear about all the scans too. It's such a relief to see that little heartbeat going! I can't believe Im going to have to wait 5 more weeks for the 12 weeks scan to see my little bean again. DH and I agreed to only have the one early scan, its not too pricey at £100 but it adds up if you several, and we both agreed the money could be better spent on the baby unless we were particularly worried.

Told my parents and PIL yesterday. They're all so excited! DM is already going on about her "painfree drug free chidbirths" and trying to pass on lots of advice Confused but early for all that!

My SIL was also told yesterday. She said she knew it bc I have a little bump Shock. I think that bump is holiday food having got my BFP just after we came home lol. No I'm actually showing at 7 + 2 is there?!

HellsBellsK · 24/12/2016 09:05

Morning all,

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!

Wanting thats great you told them - think I will be telling my parents today. My brothers will probably guess over the Christmas all the things I love I won't be having - Pate, smelly cheese and wine.

Kirsty hi again thanks for the welcome - great to 'see' familiar faces here. - we may be due around the same time. Different apps tell me different things I have a very short cycle so some are saying the 28th Aug and others 1st sept. Guess I will only find when we get a scan.

Carlotta82248 · 24/12/2016 09:42

Well, my time with you girls is over. Unfortunately started bleeding mid night shift last night. It's funny how we know our own bodies as I feel like I felt the shift in hormones on Wednesday. I'm obviously not doing so great today but my OH is amazing and work were lovely. Wishing you all happy, healthy pregnancies and enjoy those summer babas. Have a wonderful Christmas and an exciting 2017 x

Fieldsandgrasses · 24/12/2016 09:46

So sorry to hear that, Carlotta. Really very sorry. Xx

Fattycowagain · 24/12/2016 09:51

I'm so sorry to hear that, Carlotta. Be kind to yourself!

hrfvenia · 24/12/2016 09:51

So sorry carlotta thinking of you xx

Kirstyinnorway · 24/12/2016 09:58

I'm sorry too Carlotta, what awful news. Sending you a virtual hug and these Flowers and only wish I could do more. Much love, be kind to yourself over Christmas, and well done your OH for his help.

oatybiscuits · 24/12/2016 10:18

Morning everyone, hope morning sickness isn't spoiling everyone's Christmas! I had a private scan yesterday which was lovely to see the heartbeat and know everything was ok, and moved my dd to 8th August which matches more with my ovulation dates.
However I'm stressing now because I think I've got food poisoning! I've gone from the odd bit of nausea and very occasional sickness (same as my last pregnancy) to last night not even being able to keep water down. I'm feeling a bit better today but completely exhausted. Does anyone know why food poisoning is so dangerous in pregnancy? Because it can be passed on to the baby or because it makes you too ill to sustain pregnancy? I have managed a drink and a biscuit this morning and so far it's staying put!

Sparklyuggs · 24/12/2016 11:00

I'm around over Christmas so can attempt to add people on FB if you want to PM me.

Great news about the scans everyone, a lovely Christmas gift to see!

WantingBaby1 · 24/12/2016 11:30

So sorry carlotta, thinking of you Flowers

oatybiscuits · 24/12/2016 13:50

So sorry carlotta, devastating anyway but especially at this time of year

HaichM · 24/12/2016 15:17

Hi I'm new to the group. Ended up having a scan yesterday which showed I was 7 weeks and 6 days along. Currently in hosp with dehydration thanks to severe morning sickness and then possible hyperemesis starting. Trying to get home for Christmas but my veins aren't liking the cannulas. A fair few people already know because I've been so poorly. Have a 5yr old DS.

FlashAaaah · 24/12/2016 17:08

So sorry Carlotta, that's really rough.

I don't mind adding people to the FB group too Socially. I tend to check my phone for emails for work so can keep an eye out for PMs to join.

Sparklyuggs slugging wine from a bottle with a straw would definitely throw them off the scent!

Brainfried1986 · 24/12/2016 18:21

Urgh I'm so unwell! Got a major cold, and clearly my immune system is shot so I'm not dealing with it well. And of course can't have lemsip or cough mixture :( think I'll be caving and hitting the paracetamol soon, tho I really want to have as little as possible.
Can't decide if the cold or the baby is making me not want to eat anything...really hope I can enjoy Christmas dinner tomorrow.
Anyone else suffering?
