Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Congratulations @chicken!! How exciting! Ive only taken one test so far but know that if i had more in the house i would defo be taking more!! Hoping to wait until next week now....we move house on friday so trying not to get too stressed and be lifting heavy things!!

LetMeHaveABloodyName · 22/11/2016 09:54

blink to be fair there is a lot of sad tv on at the moment 😂 & yes I heard that too, I have shed loads of ovulation/pregnancy sticks don't know if they go out of date but at least they didn't cost a lot!

mrs oh exciting! Good luck with the house move. We moved when DS was 6 months & it was quite stressful with a baby too. DH said I need to watch lifting DS as he's nearly 2 stone (very tall toddler) but I don't think I have a choice, I think lifting is ok as long as you're not overdoing it.

I'm having a fair bit of cramps, like I'm about to have AF. I keep having to remind myself it's normal. I distinctly remember last time, telling my sister that I didn't expect to have cramps. I realise it's just stuff shifting moving and growing.

blink my back is hurting a bit too. Period due today & im dreading a m/c. Took another test this evening just to make sure I was actually pregnant (even though I know even if you do m/c the test still says positive for a while so pointless!).
Handholding for both of us.
Sobbed again at the tv. Some program about hearing implants. I am SO emotional!

MochaChocaChino · 22/11/2016 22:37

Hi ladies

Good work on the thread Blink! :)

Literally just tested an hour ago with a clear blue digi and got a 1-2 week reading. Still in shock - we had been trying so not a total surprise. AF due tomorrow / Thurs but felt queasy today and had an inkling...

This will be baby number 2 for us - already have a DS who turned two recently. Not sure how an active toddler will work with pregnancy considering I was wiped out with tiredness last time! Let the fun commence!

EDD is 2/3 Aug at the moment. Going to get another couple of tests for later in the week just to be sure.

Not sure I'll sleep tonight eeek!

Blink1982 · 22/11/2016 22:53

Congrats Mocha! my friend used to build an epic train track to keep her ds entertained, so she could sit and do nothing 😁 when's the tiredness usually kick in?

MochaChocaChino · 22/11/2016 22:56

Good idea he's just getting into those Brio/Bigjig tracks so will get him some more for Xmas ;-)

Tiredness kicked in from 4 weeks last time but all things considering I had quite a good pregnancy last time so fingers crossed!

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 23/11/2016 06:49

Hi, everyone! Can I join you? Just got a bfp and will be due 3 August by my dates.

thisismee · 23/11/2016 06:50

Hi everyone.

Congrats to you all!

Can I join you? Total shock BFP yesterday. Well 4 internet cheapies and 1 FRER later Blush. EDD 3 Aug. This will be baby no.2 DS is 17months. DS took a long 13months to conceive after a MMC at 10 weeks.

We hadn't been preventing since DS was born but I stopped BF at 15 months and started actively TTC and here we are!

Scared excited and everything in between .

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 23/11/2016 07:13

mocha I have a Netflix subscription, a sky box full of Nick Jr recordings, and I'm not afraid to use them! My 3 year old ds has loads of wooden trains and tracks but if you get them out he constantly wants you to come play with him. His trucks are a bit more independent.

I'm terrified of coping with a preschooler and pregnancy but we'll muddle through. I'm a bit sad that I might be too tired and sick to go through with all my (admittedly ambitious) Christmas plans.

ClaraLane · 23/11/2016 08:05

Hi!! I found out yesterday that I'm pregnant with our first baby and my estimated due date is 1st August! We've been trying since we got married in September but had just decided to stop trying and have a few months enjoying each other, oops!

Blink1982 · 23/11/2016 08:12

Congrats to you both!! Currently attempting to be ready to leave the house with ds for half 8.... this has never been possible before, we are ten o clock ppl but the whole waking early thing that comes with pregnancy is making it a possibility today 😁

Congratulations ladies! So lovely to share this exciting time and be able to talk about it even if just virtually Smile Has anyone told anyone in RL yet?

Good tip Blink - I think Nick Jr and I will become the best of friends over the coming months Wink

ClaraLane · 23/11/2016 09:26

I've only told my boss because I currently work a 9 day fortnight so think I'm going to struggle with the early starts and late mornings over the next few weeks. Thinking of paying for a private scan so we can check everything's OK before 12 weeks and then we might tell a few people in real life. It's so hard not telling everyone now though!

Blink1982 · 23/11/2016 12:40

I've told a couple of close friends and I'm dying to tell mum n dad but I Darent just yet . THINKING up fun ways to let them know!

ClaraLane · 23/11/2016 14:04

We always said we'd like to wrap up football onesies for both sets of parents (they support different teams) as a way of telling them but I had a thought on the way into work today - it's my dad's birthday in August and DH's dad's birthday at the end of July so I thought about telling them both that we had a birthday present on the way for them.

Sparklyuggs · 23/11/2016 15:18

Hello! Got my positive result yesterday (started on the cheapies then did CB digital) I should be 4 weeks today as I was tracking ovulation, been off the pill since Feb. First baby and already feeling exhausted. Planning on telling my mum tomorrow but can't decide about anyone else, I know if something were to happen I'd want support from my best friends but it still feels v early.

LetMeHaveABloodyName · 23/11/2016 16:13

Congratulations everyone!

I've told a few friends, haven't told my parents or any family yet. Ive booked an early scan for 17th December (should be 8 weeks) so if I make it till then I'll be telling everyone afterwards. It's always nerve wracking telling people before 12 weeks I think, I'm out with work at the weekend & they are all going to know so I might just tell them.

Also scared of having a toddler and a newborn, I'll have two under two! Hope I can cope Grin bit bloody late now to worry about that though...

Sparklyuggs · 23/11/2016 16:26

I'm planning to get an early scan too! Was planning to tell close family after that, but I live with my parents and brother part of the week and given how sick I feel I don't think I can hide it!

Got a wedding in 3 weeks which might be tricky, was going to enlist my best friend in helping to divert attention from me, every time I see these friends they comment if I'm drinking and when I'll be pregnant so they'll definitely notice if I'm not drinking.

Holz657 · 23/11/2016 16:29

I should be due round about 1st of August if my dates are correct! Have my first midwife appointment tomorrow! Congratulations to all :)

LetMeHaveABloodyName · 23/11/2016 16:31

sparkly we lived with my parents when I was pregnant with DS so it was hard to hide. But my mum is terrible at keeping a secret so I know she'll end up telling my nan, which in turn will mean the whole family will know. Feel bad keeping it from her though!

I have two work dos & a family part to contend with in the next month. I've been going on about how I can't wait to get drunk Blush (not had a night out for a long long time). I genuinely don't know how I'll hide it!

ClaraLane · 23/11/2016 17:49

I've got three nights out in a row next week and I'm dreading it! Think I'm going to say I'm driving and will then get DH to drink the one glass of wine I'm "allowed". I'm only 4 weeks too and really want to tell people because I hate lying. Plus I think morning (or should I say evening!) sickness has kicked in as I can't stop gagging, nearly home though thank goodness. If my parents were home we'd tell them but they're in New Zealand for a few weeks and I'd really rather tell them in person.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 23/11/2016 18:22

We're telling PIL this weekend because we'll be asking them for some help with childcare if I'm ill and we need to reorganise Christmas because I'm not likely to feel like cooking a big Christmas dinner if I have morning sickness. Last time I couldn't set food in a supermarket for months, let alone cook a whole turkey. I'm so sensitive to smells when pregnant.

We'll tell my parents soon but they live overseas so won't be involved in practical plans.

My personal rule about first trimester disclosure is that I would tell anyone about a pregnancy who I'd also tell about a miscarriage. So not the world but anyone I rely for practical or emotional support.

I had an early private scan last time and it was magical but I haven't given it any thought yet this time.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 23/11/2016 18:23

I mean set foot in a supermarket, not food!

LetMeHaveABloodyName · 23/11/2016 19:56

I didn't get morning sickness with DS at all. 4.5 weeks now & still no sign of nausea. I know it's daft but I actually want to feel a bit sick just so I 'feel' pregnant. I read once that morning sickness means a less likely chance of m/c and it made me worry so I'm feeling the same now!
Please feel free to tell me to shut it Grin I know it must be awful for some women.

I say this now, I bet I get terrible MS just because I've jinxt myself & I'll regret that comment!
