Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Oh no luce! Hopefully they'll fit you in ASAP. I've got my booking apt 1st wk of Jan and then separate apt to have blood taken at 11 weeks and then my scan bang on 12.

Your early scan will be a lovely new year treat for you after the festivities!

TMI26 · 22/12/2016 17:04

Went to the drs, she gave me a slip to take a blood test although she told me the range for pregnant women remains exactly the same and told me not to increase my dose of levo, she did tell me to stop taking my vitamin C tablets which i have found amazing for absorbing the levo.... of xciting forall of you who have had early scans, does anyone know of a clinic (affordable) you mentioned 40/45 but the cheapest I have found is 79 quid - recommendations?

Carlotta82248 · 22/12/2016 17:43

Hard day for me girls. Had a CBD left this morning and thought I'd see if weeks had moved on, imagine my hysteria when 'not pregnant' came up. Did again and got pregnant 1-2 and a positive first response but not a hugely dark line, obviously positive though. Spoke to GP who said he thinks I am still pregnant and probably just my levels aren't hugely high yet, as have had no pain or bleeding. I don't feel pregnant though and am obviously absolutely devastated. Keep everything crossed for me and my little bean please xxx

Fattycowagain · 22/12/2016 17:55

Clear Blue Digitals are notorious for giving wrong results!

Carlotta82248 · 22/12/2016 17:57

My fiancé is away at moment too, honestly has been the worst day! I hope it was just a silly error x

TMI26 · 22/12/2016 18:05

Carlotta one day at a time, try not to get panicked about it (I now it's easy to say) but until you know for sure don't get yourself worked up, I'm sure it's fine if there is no bleeding then it is unlikely anything is wrong!

watchingitallagain · 22/12/2016 18:11

Hi guys! I'm joining you here with an expected due date of 12th August. It's going to be baby number three and we found out two weeks after my husband has a vasectomy. Confused
Luckily, we can afford another baby and have both come to the conclusion that this pregnancy is meant to be!

WantingBaby1 · 22/12/2016 18:18

carlotta it would have been a faulty test, try not to fret. Clear blue aren't the most reliable and aren't v sensitive. How far along are you? I honestly wouldn't worry. I know, easy to say. Thinking of you.

Carlotta82248 · 22/12/2016 18:24

Thank you TMI and Wanting, 4+6 with my first! Suffer with anxiety so the whole TTC process has been a bit fraught! I appreciate your kindness xxx

ZigAZigAhh · 22/12/2016 18:25

Carlotta Flowers - am absolutely sure it will all be fine. Faulty tests are definitely not unheard of (particularly when they're CBD!) If there's no pain or bleeding then that's a very positive sign.

Cocochops · 22/12/2016 18:26

carlotta - thinking of you and keeping everything crossed. watching - snap also due dc3 on Aug 12th. How are old are your other two? Must have been a bit of a shock after the vaesectamy!

WantingBaby1 · 22/12/2016 18:48

carlotta 4 wks is early for a cb digital to show up, you've had other positive tests, you're pregnant Smile

Welcome watching, what timing!

watchingitallagain · 22/12/2016 19:38

DD1 will be six and DS2 will be two and a half by next year. I can't wait to get this first trimester out of the way. I just feel a bit shit.

Loulabelle1990 · 22/12/2016 21:20

Hi ladies, please can I join?

Congrats to all of those with their BFP's also 😁.

I got mine on Monday. I think I am 7 weeks tomorrow. Don't feel pregnant and still don't believe I am pregnant! Supposedly due 11th August.

Got my first GP appointment tomorrow. Been off the pill over a year now so it's been a nice surprise finally.

How do you guys get to have an early scan?? I would love to have one because I am so anxious and I hear of all these people who have early miscarriages etc (I think I know too much!). Anyway I am looking forward to being on this journey with you all!!

Fattycowagain · 22/12/2016 21:26

loula, only reason I get to have these early scans is that I had no clue how far along I was, due to still breastfeeding my eldest and cycles being all over the place.
First scan showed a really tiny blot that is the pregnancy and midwife put me at 5 weeks then. Scan I had two days ago showed a bigger and more visible blot, but she couldn't find a heartbeat yet. Was put at just about 6 weeks. I will have another scan next Friday, at 7 weeks and a few days. But that is because the midwife wants to see the heartbeat now as well!
I think I'm probably 6 weeks today, but no way to really tell until they do the dating scan at 12 weeks.

Loulabelle1990 · 22/12/2016 21:30

Thank you for your response fatty (seems rude me calling you that?!) haha!

I see. My cycles are a bit all over the place too, but I got 7 weeks from the first day of my last period. I will ask the doctor tomorrow to see what she thinks! Might see if I can try and get an early scan to put my mind at ease a bit Smile. Fx you will get to see the little heart beat next week!

Writerwannabe83 · 22/12/2016 21:32

I'm having a "not feeling pregnant today" day!! This whole thing is so worrying Sad

Carlotta82248 · 22/12/2016 21:41

Sending you love Writer, I've just been sobbing on phone to OH which is so hard for him as he's away dealing with some family grief. Horrid day. How nice would a large cold glass of something alcoholic be right now?

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 22/12/2016 21:45

Loula a lot of us are booking private scans in addition to the NHS ones. They're completely a luxury and a choice, but for the very anxious among us they're a good reassurance. I've booked with Beyond Birth, which seems to have a chain of clinics in different cities. The early scan is £55 but they have 25% off codes so I paid about £42. I haven't gone yet though so I can't tell you if it's any good. I went to a different chain with my son three years ago and it was an amazing experience that made my pregnancy feel "real," so I was eager to do it again.

Loulabelle1990 · 22/12/2016 21:51

Okay great thank you for your responses. I have looked into doing it not via the NHS. I will have a look into the one you've said - the one I was looking at was £100! Seeing as it's my first and I am very anxious I might just "sod it" and go for it! Got nothing to lose!

firsttimer12345 · 22/12/2016 21:59

Yes we booked privately at a place called your baby scan. The staff were all fab. I'd been on the pill and only had 1 period since so wasn't certain about our dates and was useful to get a better estimate as really as reassurance!

Writerwannabe83 · 22/12/2016 22:47

carlotta - it's awful when you are without your partner when you just need a cuddle. I know it's not the same but when I miscarried earlier this year my husband was abroad for 5 days and it was awful going through it on my own

The CB Digitals can be renowned for being dodgy and inaccurate so please, please try not to worry. I don't know why I'm saying though seeing as I'm feeling full of worry myself and mentally trying to work out how quickly I can get an early scan Grin

Sparklyuggs · 22/12/2016 23:02

carlotta the CB digital date part is often wrong, try not to worry especially if there's no other signs

Loulabelle depending on where you live I think the NHS will only early scan if you are bleeding or there's another reason to need one. I went private and paid £100, could have got cheaper but they had a weekend time which suited us and luckily we could afford. I'm glad I did it, I love seeing the video I have of the heartbeat Smile

Fieldsandgrasses · 23/12/2016 07:16

Non-alcohol recommendation alert: Echo Falls sparkling 'white' (with a green tea infusion, which sounds revolting) is the nicest alcohol-free wine I have tasted...

choccyTeapot · 23/12/2016 07:34

Ooh going to have to check that fake wine out! Can recommend the Holland and Barrett fake mulled wine - although watered down as reaaaally sweet.

Had my second early scan yesterday and saw the tiny fluttering heartbeat. Anxiety has dropped slightly. Sucking it up and telling immediate family over Xmas to avoid having to lie through our teeth

Dating at 7w+3/4 which fits exactly with known ovulation. Hurrah.

Thank god for the Xmas break, as I'm struggling to keep up at work and it's doing my head in!!
