Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Panicking this morning as i havent woken up with my mouth tasting like ive been sucking a penny like the last few days. Tell me im ridiculous please!

Fieldsandgrasses · 23/12/2016 08:08

Good tip, Choccy! I'm not saying anything after Xmas, will tell parents after ten week scan. Not a massive drinker so they might not notice as such.

HellsBellsK · 23/12/2016 09:02

Hi Ladies,

Not sure if I should join you guys just got my BFP this morning. Got an estimated Due date of 30th Aug but another place said the 1st Sept.
I really can't believe it!

MrsG280516 · 23/12/2016 09:20

Hi Hells congratulations! Another lucky December bus rider Grin

firsttimer12345 · 23/12/2016 09:23

Just been to the drs with a uti Sad had been dismissing the pain for a few days as normal cramps.

Look after yourselves other lovely mummies to be!

Lixon · 23/12/2016 09:26

Congratulations and welcome aboard HellsBells. Congratulations to others with recent scans too, so glad for you all.

Oky don't worry, I've never had that taste so Not everyone gets it and I'm sure those that do don't have it all the way throughout pregnancy :)

So sorry to hear about your stress Carlotta, am thinking of you -it really is such an anxiety inducing time even if you don't already suffer bit fingers crossed it was just s blip with a dodgy test.

I also had an early scan last night. It didn't start off well as after waiting ages with a full bladder I was told it was too small and needed an internal scan and then it was described as a very small stationary sac (i.e. What I had for my last miscarriage) so I was all ready to burst into tears. However then the doctor pointed out the little heartbeat.

Frustratingly I've been dated 6W ie a week behind where I thought I was on lmp and I'm convinced I ovulated early so I certainly don't feel out of the woods but I still feel reassured.

Early dating seems relatively common and possibly caused by retroverted uteruses (which I have), a slight delay to growth which catches up later on or just a slight delay. I was panicked that not increasing my levothyroxine immediately contributed but think I'm probably overreacting Grin.

On this basis we'll go ahead and tell immediate family over Christmas but noting that miscarriage risk is still around 10% so not too much excitement yet!

FlashAaaah · 23/12/2016 09:28

Wow, this does move fast. Hello to everyone new! I always thought the busy baby months were September/October but August seems really busy this year! How exciting!

We're still debating whether to tell our families over Christmas or not. I'd like to keep it to ourselves a bit longer but I really don't see how I'll get round not drinking. They'll definitely suspect something's up. Maybe I can sneak a bottle of non alcohol wine in my handbag and keep myself topped up from that? Xmas Grin

Sparklyuggs · 23/12/2016 10:53

flash the idea of a pregnant lady walking around with her own wine bottle and a straw really makes me laugh- could be one way to put them off the scent?? Wink

Okey the metallic mouth taste comes and goes with me, I suspect what we eat may impact it?

Hope everyone is able to get some rest before Christmas. I'm waiting for my flight then I'm going straight to bed. Played the pregnancy card to get picked up at the airport though Smile

hrfvenia · 23/12/2016 11:00

Congratulations to all the new members!!

I'm 8+4 today and really hoping this no sickness lasts. Nearly everybody knows now, either on purpose or by accident(neither of us are very good at keeping secrets!) and I'm getting horrific breast pain. It woke me up multiple times in the night and it literally feels like someone is pinching my right boob over and over again.

Is this normal? The right hasn't grown as much as the left (very annoying) so could it just be that it's catching up? So wish I could just take some painkillers!

ScottishLady7 · 23/12/2016 11:05

Sounds normal but take some paracetamol hrfvenia and see your doc if it doesn't settle!

My boobs are on fire and growing ridiculously fast. None of my bras fit and I crammed myself into a nice one last night to go out for dinner and the ache when I took it off was unreal. Continued to hurt in bed too!

TMI26 · 23/12/2016 12:50

Hrf yes very normal, I keep checking where there is a wire poking out to cause the pain, strange how fast breasts grow! I have had a custom made dress for my brothers wedding in 3 months, two outfits cost around 200 each...I'm dreading that they won't fit!!

TMI26 · 23/12/2016 12:54

Also, is anyone else trying to limit dtd? We have been trying - we both mutually agreed, but dh is like a promiscuous teen! We are still at it 2-3 times a week, we are very gentle but afterwards it always freaks me out

MmmMalbec · 23/12/2016 13:03

Hi everyone, I got my BFP last week and I'm around 4+5 today. This will be DC2 and I'll be due around 27th August. I doubt I can keep up with this thread so I've asked to join the FB group!! Congratulations to everyone Xmas Smile

hrfvenia · 23/12/2016 13:18

Wonderful, I panic at the littlest thing and I was awake at 245-330 last night worrying!

I can only assume what dtd means but going by the 'promiscuous teenager' comment I think I have a fair idea 😂 We've been less active than usual but not because of baby, but due to work stresses and being generally ill. Lucky you to have 2-3 times a week!

Fieldsandgrasses · 23/12/2016 13:37

Yup! I've had the 3 am insomnia!

Denna81 · 23/12/2016 14:14

I've been awake between 3&4 every night for the last 10 days. So weird!

Actually woke up shouting and with my heart racing last night which was slightly worrying. Not sure what about, free floating anxiety and hormones combined I guess :/

Carlotta82248 · 23/12/2016 14:16

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. I'm logging off for a while, anxiety levels currently through the roof, don't think this is helping me at the moment, need to take a step back from all! Big loves x

Heatherbaby · 23/12/2016 15:51

Having a quick catch up. Welcome to all newbies and hellsbells I recognise you from the ttc thread I was a part of... big congrats and welcome! Very happy for you!!

Every pregnancy is different so symptoms can't really be compared with one another... try not to get too anxious and the midwives are happy to answer all queries, mine gave me a 24hr hotline to the community midwives and said no query is too small!

I am too sick to be anxious! Don't throw up as much as I feel nauseous most the day. Medication so far has been useless but that may be because it tastes disgusting so I'm not taking it as often as I should!

carlotta have a fantastic xmas. Logging off may help you relax and may be a good idea but obviously come back for a moan or lurk whenever SmileFlowers

Hope all else is well. I have the baby centre app which is nice and shows you exactly where yours is at development. Mine at 7w is a little jumping bean the size of a blueBerry apparently! Xx

Bryonie2017 · 23/12/2016 16:18

Good evening all. I had my early scan today and everything is as it should be. Little one is 1.5 cm at 7+6 and heart fluttering away. Very cool! I feel a lot less anxious now I've actually seen it, although I still feel rubbish physically!

Kirstyinnorway · 23/12/2016 17:28

Hells another TTC-er! Huge congrats (will go back to our old thread and repeat)! Very happy for you. You're due only 3 days after me!

This thread is super fast-paced, I can't keep up with all you guys! There seem to be loads of us.

So, at 4+5 here. We've told my parents and will be telling DH's parents in January. It is FAR earlier than we wanted and had to really spell out the miscarriage risk to my Mum ... However, we no longer live in the UK and wanted to tell our parents face-to-face. They don't visit so often, so had to do it when we have the chance.

I have been exhausted the last few days... But who knows if that's my first pregnancy symptom, my comparatively low caffeine intake compared to normal, or my parents visiting (very tiring Grin)!

Boobs are also a bit tender today but could be my bra. So... Still no definite symptoms! Hmm

MmmMalbec · 23/12/2016 17:32

I'm 4+5 too Kirsty and nothing too definite here either. More tired, sore ish boobs and lots of bloating but my symptoms really kicked in after 6 weeks with DS so I'm cautiously enjoying not feeling too awful!

ClaraLane · 23/12/2016 18:15

I'm 8+3 and throwing up multiple times a day which is really draining. I'm so sick of seeing my food again a few hours later so I'm just not bothering to eat much which DH is telling me off for! Already in bed at 6pm because I'm shattered and see no point staying up when I feel ropey. Dreading this Christmas because I love the food side of things and I'm not feeling it this year.

I'm also finding that I'm awake most nights between 3 and 4am, normally because I need to pee and then can't sleep though!

For those trying to hide non-alcoholic wine can you decant it into an empty wine bottle so no-one realises? I'm very lucky in that MIL has bought me non-alcoholic wine to hide in the vegetable drawer of the fridge so DH is in charge of my drinks plus I can pass him my champagne etc at my parents' early on in the day and say I've got to drive to the in-laws.

MrsG280516 · 23/12/2016 18:49

For the first time since getting pregnant I've had to turn down my dinner. Feeling sick and bloated at the same time so just can't face eating now. Hope this doesn't last over Christmas!

Largemelons · 23/12/2016 20:00

Hi all. 7+3 here and totally agree on the boobs front. Mine are so painful I struggle to lie on my stomach.
Fed up of the nausea, it's the worst over Christmas! Feel gutted I can't enjoy all the lovely food and drink. Not complaining really it'll be worth it!

Trenzalor · 23/12/2016 21:01

Hi all, I've been reading the thread for days and am now tentatively throwing my hat in the ring. I'm still in shock tbh.

Been trying for DC2 for almost two years, finally told last month my GP thought I had something that made conception nigh on impossible - I've been waiting on a gynaecology referral. So, I thought 'bugger it' and put it out of my mind, got a new job and... boom! BFP on Tuesday. A strong dark line came up right away. I was really only testing to reassure myself and get ready for AF which would inevitably follow doing a test (as it has done for two years!).

It's wonderful news but I have a new job starting after Easter when, all being well, I will be five months pregnant! I'm not looking forward to that discussion!

I'm seeing this as my early Christmas gift though.

I've enjoyed reading what you guys have been posting so I thought it was about time I introduced myself. I'll be five weeks on Christmas Day and due 27th August. A popular date on here, it seems!
