Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Brainfried - I'm in exactly the same position. I've had this awful cold/cough for nearly a week and I can't tell if it's the reason why I feel completely off my food, or whether the nausea is morning sickness (probably both). My appetite has disappeared and I can't get excited about the thought of eating anything.

Flowers carlotta - so very sorry to hear. Take care of yourself.

OkyDoke · 24/12/2016 19:03

So sorry carlotta, take care of yourself.Flowers

IntoTheWoods84 · 24/12/2016 19:23

Right there with you brainfried - my cold has gone to my chest so currently curled up asleep while my family enjoy scotch and silliness. Rubbish!

Hope we all feel better tomorrow!

Love to you carlotta - hope you have some peaceful moments these next few days.

IntoTheWoods84 · 24/12/2016 19:24

Should say curled up trying to sleep -I'm not sleep mumsnetting hehe

Largemelons · 24/12/2016 20:45

So sorry Carlotta. I've been there three times. Be kind to yourself and give yourself time to grieve. I didn't even take a day off work and looking back it hit me later I think.

Merry Christmas to our group!

ThirdThoughts · 25/12/2016 00:03

Sorry Carlotta Flowers

Hope you feel better soon Haich and get home and are able to enjoy the festivities a little. Welcome :)

Fattycowagain · 25/12/2016 09:08

Merry Christmas, ladies!

Writerwannabe83 · 25/12/2016 10:19

Happy Christmas everyone and to all those telling their families today I hope it is as magical as you imagine it to be.

I'm feeling exhausted and sick Sad

I woke up at about 4.30 because my bladder was about to burst, it took me ages to settle back to sleep and then my toddler woke up about 1.5 hours later.

I've actually come back to bed because I feel so rotten, I feel drained and the nausea is horrid. I had forgotten how unpleasant this early stage of pregnancy is.

And just to top it off, I've got to go to work this afternoon Sad

It's been a lovely Christmas morning but I definitely need sleep before work. I don't remember being this tired when I was pregnant with DS.

Have a lovely day ladies x

Writerwannabe83 · 25/12/2016 10:20

carlotta - I don't know if you're still reading but I'm very sorry to hear your news. It's so crushing to have the optimism and happiness snatched away so cruelly. Take care of yourself x

TMI26 · 25/12/2016 11:29

Sorry to hear charlotte, writer that's pants - you need to go to work today of all days!! I'm having an hour to myself before I get things moving and don't get to sit down till nightfall, my signs are not that bad thank god - I feel a little Nautious sometimes, and don't really feel like eating things but apart from that and the fatigue I can't really complain... hope it keeps up!

ThirdThoughts · 25/12/2016 15:24

DC1 woke up at 4.30am but I was already awake so we had a relaxed slow paced opening of stocking and presents, he was playing with almost everything. Moning sickness paid me my first visit as a seasonal treat though I was able to eat something a bit later then have a nap.

When I got up again I took DC1 out on his first pedal bike but found between the blustery wind and my nausea that I kept feeling breathless so couldn't keep up for long. So we didn't get the pedalling on his own moment yet, we need more practice. Hopefully I'll feel more up to it next time. I felt pretty weak.

Sorry that you have work when you are feeling lousy Writer.

I hope you all have a good day, and manage to keep down some nice food.

Kirstyinnorway · 25/12/2016 21:02

Hey folks! Merry Christmas to you all.
My Christmas present from my little Bean/my body has been light brown spotting (like EWCM but brown)... I'm 5 weeks exactly today.
Has anyone else had this? I'm worried.

bluesdetoi · 25/12/2016 21:49

Carlotta - im so sorry. I truly feel for you. It's lovely you have a supportive OH to lean on, sometimes it makes all the difference.

Also, sorry if this is the last thing you need right now, but be sure to get it checked out and confirmed. I know lots of women who bled and didn't miscarry.

Lots of hugs your way xxFlowers

hrfvenia · 25/12/2016 21:49

Kirsty as far as I'm aware a little bit at 5 weeks is normal, especially if it's brown. Could be delayed implantation bleeding or any number of causes. I think there is only cause for concern if there is red blood with severe cramps, but always check with a health professional if you're really worried. I rang 111 the night of my works do because I had a little red blood.

Also, I'm 8+6 today, is it normal to be getting pinching cramps all around my lower abdomen? I'm starting to worry 😔

Writerwannabe83 · 26/12/2016 07:52

Happy Boxing Day everyone and I hope you all had a lovely Christmas Day!!

I'm 6+5 today and I'm feeling so sick and nauseous and have been for about three days now. I'm having to force myself to eat and drink and then I feel awful for it. I've got a big family Christmas Day type meal today and I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to avoid eating anything under the eyes of 14 family members. I'm lying in bed feeling utterly crap and I just want to stay here all day. The exhaustion has kicked in too, yesterday I got up at 6.30 with DS and then had to go back to bed at 10.30 because I couldn't keep my eyes open and slept for another two hours. I didn't feel this bad when I was pregnant with DS - it's really lousy ☹️️

kirsty - I had brown spitting with DS at 5, 7 and 10 weeks and everything was fine so please try not to worry Flowers

Kirstyinnorway · 26/12/2016 08:26

Thanks very much writer and hrf, your kind words made me feel much better. Woken up this morning to find spotting seems to have stopped for now so will just try and stop worrying!

hrf I can't help you on the pinching cramps really, although I did read that everything is staring to stretch out at that point, which is surely bound to be pretty sore? How are you doing this morning?

Really sorry you feel so crap writer, perhaps you can tell your family you're recovering from the winter sickness bug that's going around and although you're better (I.e. Not contagious!), your stomach still needs to be treated gently with small portions? It's a rubbish time of year for keeping things secret... We ended up telling my parents at

Kirstyinnorway · 26/12/2016 08:27

Whoops, sorry....

...at 3+5, far earlier than we wanted but they arrived over here for my birthday and Christmas laden with booze, and they would have guessed anyway!

Writerwannabe83 · 26/12/2016 08:33

I'm just thankful I don't drink alcohol anyway so me not drinking wouldn't be seen as unusual. I'm going to drag myself out of bed now and put a fake smile on my face Grin

Brainfried1986 · 26/12/2016 10:04

I'm feeling so dodgy today...the smell of Christmas leftovers in the fridge just makes me feel sicker. Mornings are definitely the worst at the moment. Think I got away with not drinking yesterday - had fake Buck's Fizz made with lemonade while everyone else had the real stuff, so that will have avoided suspicion. Think we're telling my in laws next week tho (staying with them for a week). I'm 5wks today, so still early days, but think we might be telling the family on New Year's Day when I'll be nearly 6wks.
Hoping I don't feel this crap for all of my pregnancy...

ClaraLane · 26/12/2016 10:38

Morning all! I'm 8+6 today and really struggled yesterday, was only sick a couple of times too which has got me a little worried because normally it's so much worse than that. Plus I've had a killer headache since yesterday that won't shift despite taking paracetamol, can't wait to head home and sit on my sofa with the cats!

TMI26 · 26/12/2016 17:46

I'm sooooo tired thankfully I have not had any sickness yet..Clara I wouldn't worry none of the symptoms are meant to be consistent .brainfried, sometimes it's just easier I think to tell people...it means you can just relax and not waste energy on hiding things! I told my parent the day I got my positive, they knew how worked up I was about all the problems I was going through when ttc, it gives you a bit of a get out of jail free card and means I don't need to worry about being rude when I refuse to meet up because of tiredness

Catherinebee85 · 26/12/2016 20:26

Hello,
Just signed up to mums net as I found out I'm pregnant with my first baby. We did a test on Christmas eve. I feel very lucky as we literally only just started trying. Very very excited and have been to the GP today to get my first midwife appt booked in. Let the madness commence!

swimchick1980 · 26/12/2016 21:37

Kirsty - I've also had a bitbof spotting and am around 5 weeks. Have read lots of stuff that says it's fine, but I really wish it would just go away!

Anyone else missing pate? I'm not bothered by the no booze so far, but the no pate is a challenge!!

Largemelons · 26/12/2016 21:46

I had some pinkish blood when I was 5 weeks. I'm 8 weeks now, nothing since and symptoms are seriously full on so assuming all is ok.
I've had 3 losses at 4 and 5 weeks, all started like that but got gradually worse over the day/next day until the bleeding was like af.
It's so 50/50 in my experience. Can go either way and waiting around is the absolute worst. It's the reason I said I'd never try again Hmm
I feel completely vile, need to eat but eating makes me so nauseous.
Bring on the 2nd trimester!! ASAP!

MrsG280516 · 26/12/2016 22:02

Hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas despite any sickness/nausea/tiredness!

We told our families over the past few days so it's nice to have it out in the open. 7 weeks tomorrow :)
