Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

I agree Socially, I'm only going to tell someone I would tell if I miscarried, ie not my whole cohort of friends and colleagues. OH doesn't want to tell anyone yet- his family live abroad and they aren't close anyway. They are also not people I'd share bad news with so I'm happy to wait a bit to tell them.

I've got evening nausea at the moment, all I can face are dry carbs!

Blink1982 · 23/11/2016 20:04

I can't remember suffering from sickness last time, I can only remember the hundreds of renees I went through and the back ache... ooh and the day time naps that I doubt I'll enjoy this time around with ds 😂

Oh blink the heartburn Sad. I remember sleeping sat up for so many nights. The weeing all the time was so annoying too - I lost sensation in my bladder for a few days post birth & I was amazed at not needing a wee every 5 seconds Grin

LetMeHaveABloodyName · 23/11/2016 20:22

All good fun though - I loved being pregnant. I think I'd have a football team if I could Grin

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 23/11/2016 21:01

LetMeHaveABloodyName At this stage in my first pregnancy I didn't feel sick at all. It kicked in around 8 weeks. My pregnancy was perfectly healthy.

This time I already feel it. What's crazy though is how dizzy I feel. The room is spinning when I even turn my head sometimes. I went to the doctor yesterday. I only had the faintest positive which didn't show at the gp surgery so she had to consider non-pregnancy causes of dizziness. She prescribed me medication for vertigo. Confused Tonight I wasn't sure whether to take it so I phoned my mum. She's a pharmacist. So long story short, now I've told someone. Grin

thisismee · 23/11/2016 21:26

Blink yes to the packs of renees, I went thru so many last time!

Anyone feeling unbelievably tired? I wanted to take myself off to bed at 7 this evening .

I've only told my nan. PIL will be told at weekend. And I'd tell anyone else who I would want to know if the worst should happen.

Blink1982 · 24/11/2016 12:54

Went and filled in the form at the Dr's today, shouldn't hear from them for another 4 weeks though I guess. Considering buying shares in renees in preparation for the dark fire times ahead to be honest 😁

We do one of those free print photo books every month (the app you can get) was considering doing something with the last page as a kind of reveal. ALONG the lines of ds's sequel. .. coming soon (well not that soon)

thisismee Yep I'm shattered, it hits me about 2pm and wipes me out for the rest of the afternoon but then by 6ish I'm okay (just very nauseous!).

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 25/11/2016 08:28

First vomit of the pregnancy, and I've registered with the midwife. It's all getting real now.

Sparklyuggs · 25/11/2016 08:44

I'm seeing the doctor on Monday, I'm not in the UK (but spend part of the week in London) so not sure how it works exactly in terms of what is offered. Planning to have an early scan at 7/8 weeks but depends when I'll get scanned for free as it looks like it might be from week 8 from what I can find online.

My parents have been fussing over me which is v sweet, and successfully manoeuvred my grandmother and siblings away from why I wasn't drinking...

I'm a twin myself and was diagnosed with hyper ovulation earlier this year (2 eggs each month) so it just occurred to me that I could have twins...scary thought!

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 25/11/2016 09:26

Oh wow, sparkly! How would you feel about having twins?

My maternity care this time will be very different because I've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism since having my son. I'm stressing about extra appointments and when I need to tell work. It would take some of the stress off if a manager knew why I had to be off work, and didn't make me work back the time, but then I'm not very keen about telling them this early. And did I mention I only started my new job this week? I don't know them very well yet and it feels very personal.

MochaChocaChino · 25/11/2016 09:50

SociallyAcceptableCookie** hope you're feeling ok? Flowers I still don't "feel" pregnant yet although do feel tired but not sure if that's because it's been a crazy week!

Haven't even thought of organising an apt at the docs yet might try and make one next week. I'll be 8 weeks come Xmas so might be interesting getting an apt but at least I'll be off work so it can go under the radar.

I haven't told anyone yet other than DH, although will have to tell a friend so she doesn't expose me at a work xmas do in a couple of weeks. We're hosting Xmas too (my silly idea!) so might try and work out a creative way to tell my parents and sister on Xmas day...

Keep going from being really excited to worrying and hoping all will be ok. I know a lot of family and close friends who've either had a MC lately or struggled to carry 2nd baby for different reasons. It's going to be a long my pregnancy at this rate Smile

MochaChocaChino · 25/11/2016 09:53

Sparkly twins could be interesting you'll have to let us know!

Blink I might have to look into the photo book idea that sounds lovely.

Sparklyuggs · 25/11/2016 10:29

I'm not sure how I feel about twins... I love being one but it would make life a bit more complicated!! Will see what the doctor says. Feeling rotten and v sick this morning, can barely do more than lie down on the sofa Confused

Blink1982 · 25/11/2016 12:18

Im not feeling that pregnant yet either. Are you sure you need an apt with the dr? round here we just go to the receptionists tell them all yor secrets fill in a midwife form and wait for a call to do a booking in about 8-10wks.

We couldn't wait for the photo book idea. I sent it them today. DAD didn't quite get it straightaway 😂

Blink love it! Did they work it out yet?! Grin

Not sure on docs apt - last time I had a booking in apt with the midwife at 9 weeks so might just try and organise that. Hopefully it's still the same midwife as she was amazing!

ClaraLane · 25/11/2016 13:10

I rang my doctors to ask and they said I needed an appointment with them first which I've got booked for next Friday and then I'll see the midwife between 8 and 10 weeks. Still toying with the idea of a private scan but not sure if it's worth it or not.

ClaraLane · 25/11/2016 13:11

Blink I love that, have they figured it out now?

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 25/11/2016 13:22

Blink my doctor wanted me to see a mw at 5-6 weeks but normally it's later and you don't need to see a doctor first.

mocha thanks. Had a bit of a breakdown yesterday and cried on a 2 hour commute home. I'm happy but all of this feels a bit overwhelming right now.

MochaChocaChino · 25/11/2016 14:50

SociallyAcceptableCookie it's such a rollercoaster of emotions we're here for you.

I've just called docs and they said I need to do a form between 6-8 weeks and then they'll make me an apt for booking in with midwife. Another couple of weeks to wait...

Blink1982 · 26/11/2016 09:06

They figured it out bless them.

socially acceptable it certainly is a whirlwind of emotions

Just found out that our best friends are also expecting their first next year - she's 7 weeks ahead of me! They only live down the road too so it's going to be lovely being so close when we've both got little ones.

yolorolo · 26/11/2016 20:28

Congrats to all. Room for another? Just had a positive test tonight with a due date of August 4th by my dates. This will be our 3rd. DS will be 2.9 and DD will be 21mths. Eek 3 under 3! Will have to call docs soon. Exciting stuff.

Blink1982 · 26/11/2016 22:21

Congratz yolo... you're in for a fun time with 3 under three 😂 three is my favourite age though I bet the eldest will be a huge help or not!

OP posts:
SociallyAcceptableCookie · 26/11/2016 23:33

Congrats and welcome, Yolo!

We spent the day out with PIL and ds and it was lovely. Mil is so excited and it's so much easier to be around people who know I'm pregnant and not just acting weird. they're offering to help with my son and even to cook Christmas dinner instead of me. Phew! That's a major weight off my shoulders.

Also, I have an app that reminds me to do pelvic floor exercises and I'm determined to have a pelvic floor of steel this time. Anyone with me?
