he supports Norwich, they keep losing the games he goes to

he lives in Uttoxeter and is currently working in North Manchester, so probably goes close enough to wave to you most days!

Oh well, he's off the hook a bit as he just came in with flowers, choccies and a birthing ball!

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 08/02/2007 19:14

we'll call BigOnion off then, for now

Liath at your siter being told her boy bean was a girl at 20wk scan.
I have worried about this aswell because with moving house soon I have got rid of everything pink! They said my bean was a boy but will have to be a complete tomboy if a girl pops out

Glad that your dh is off the hook, have a lovely evening

CaptainDippy · 08/02/2007 19:16

Happy Birthday Liath!! Glad your DH redeemed himself hon.

To all those who asked, no DH let me have the car so drove to my Consultant appt - Thank goodness. Makes me feel a teeny bit less bitter.....

Right, grumpy little DD's are in bed and I'm off to have dinner, then church group, but I'll try and pop in before bed .....

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 08/02/2007 19:45

MAVETA AND CLARICEBEAN

can you have a look at this please, I figure you're both well placed to advise, more than the rest of us anyway, being as you live there!

Happy birthday Liath

Midwife thinks baby is fine not rolling round to front and says if worried will refer me to consultant and see me every week - I WANTED A SCAN - grumphhh!

Went to see medical herbalist about insomnia - she is lovely - felt like was having therapy - have been given a prescription/ concoction - think witch potion! Have to take 10mls every night before bed. Going back in three weeks about my diet.

I will email the photographer - not buying anything though! Happy to be practised on though if get free pics of bump!

Must go - working tomorrow and need sleep.

Emmymummy · 08/02/2007 20:27

Hello all - thanks for the comments on the mattress, Looks like you've all saved us £100+! That'll be yum yums all round then!

Maveta - also having really bad time sleeping. Can get to sleep generally, but when I wake for my wee I cannot get back to sleep again. Can only get comfy lying on my side until that hip starts to hurt, at which point I roll over onto other hip until that one starts to hurt (then repeat at least 20 times until it's time to get up). Hypnobirthing book/CD arrived today so hopefully will get into that shortly and hopefully it will help.

CD - sorry to hear about your dd's poo rebellion. Yuk yuk yuk! And your crap experience at the hospital. At least you got the car today!

Please don't tell me that the sex of the baby might be wrong . Couldn't imagine having a boy now, would just be so weird. Am having another scan on 9th March, so hopefully it'll be confirmed again then.

We had tonnes of snow this morning, but all gone now. Emily's headmaster was fab about it though and the kids at her school have been outside playing on the school field pretty much all day. He is a cool headmaster! Emily's class did the school assembly today and all the parents were allowed to go and watch. Cue tears again! Emily seems to love performing in front of an audience - def doesn't take after me in that respect!

Emmymummy · 08/02/2007 20:27

Oppps sorry Liath...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Hope DH redeems himself in a big way!

runnyhabbit · 08/02/2007 20:37

Evening all

& to all those with poorly dc's, feeling crappy, misbehaving dh/dps, rude mw etc (sorry, I know thats very general, but didn't want to miss anyone out)

Didn't make it to work today - my road was just bad to risk getting out of. By the time it had melted enough, it wasn't worth me going to work

Anyway, had physio appt this afternoon for SPD. Went really, really well. She did my pain free abduction score (it's the max I can I have my knees apart for the birth) Its 50cm, and she was pleased with that result. And, most importantly, she said there is no reason why I can't have my homebirth!!! We talked a great deal about birthing positions, and I get to see her again in 4 weeks.

Happy Birthday Liath x

I know this subject has been covered before, but I can't remember much What baby sling would you recommend? I like the look of the Wilkinet, but not sure about baby positioning iyswim, and also, I'm 5'8, and dh is 6'4.
Answers on a postcard please....

weeonion · 08/02/2007 20:58

evening folks- hello and how are you all?? happy happy birthday to you Liath - glad yr d pulled out the stops and got the pressies in

at the snow - we had the smallest skift of it today but hopefully more at the weekend. i used to work in finalnd so loved the winters there!

2 v v v long days wth work - leavign the flat at 5am and just in now , last night it was midnight. cant say too much but we have had a big court case in scotland relating to my line of work so alot of involvement with teh press over it. liath - i was indeed on tv and radio and doing alot of the backround info/ briefing papers to give to journalists etc. all v exciting but glad its died down.

sorry i havent caught up with you all. suffice to say i hope aches, worries, sickness, stress and general wishing we were nearer the end abates for the weekend!!!!!

WestCountryLass · 08/02/2007 21:03

On the paracetamol front, I have taken a fair few in all my pregnancies and so far my kids appear to be fine.

I've got a slipped disc in my back so have to take pain killers fairly frequently, usually take Ibuprofen and Voltorol but obviously that is a no no. I also had the flu this time round and took 4 doses a day for 2 weeks

WestCountryLass · 08/02/2007 21:06

On the subject of sleep, I haven't slept through the night since I had my DS 5.5 years ago

DD is still in bed with me (2.7) and as i've only just stopped BFing her she is not ready to be turfed out just yet.

I am hoping this baby LOVES his/her moses basket!!!!!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 08/02/2007 21:12

Hi ladies, WO, what a knackering time you have had. Hope you are managing to eat more you poor wee hen.

Runny, glad the physio appt went well today.

10 weeks, sorry you didn't get the scan you wanted.

Emmymumy, I know what you mean about now being geared up for another girl and poentially finding out it isn't. Dh said it was ridiculous of me to feel like that which I found really annoying.
I haven't got any more scans scheduled which is a shame. I am wondering if I can wangle one to check growth - everyone says how small I am.

Anyway, hope everyone is well this evening. I am off to bed again soon - how exciting am I!

See you tomorrow.

WCL - my ds is 5 1/2 so totally know how you feel - it is such a relief when you go to bed and wake up in the morning - one or the other wakes up or dh snores, or I need a wee... etc etc! Have drunk my 10ml of the potion the herbalist gave me - need to go to bed soon - but am mesmerised by Child Genius on Channel 4.

At least someone's getting some....

1becomes3 · 08/02/2007 21:28

OMG I just got stuck on the floor! had a pillow under my back and head resting on the couch in a very strange position, and I got STUCK!!!
DD was battering the hell out of me thinking it was a fun game.
Did manage to get her to pass me the phone to call DH tried his phone about 20 times before I realised I could hear it ringing up stairs stupid sod had left it behind.

So poor me beached whale was stuck for an hour and 15 mins, was in floods of painful tears when DH finally decided to come back.

Just came out of a nice hot bath so not feeling so sore now. Dh is going to give me a nice massage as he shouldn't have left his phone behind! I thought I was going to be stuck down there all night.

God being pg has turned me into a pathetic mess

1becomes3 · 08/02/2007 21:29

Oh and happy birthday laith

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 08/02/2007 21:33

10 weeks, i'm hoping i give birth before you cos I'm pretty much settled on the name Joe too

any luck with middle names? I still can't find anything that sounds right with Joe, but everything sounds ok with Joseph.

surname will be Kirkby, or Pearson-Kirkby if i'm feeling mad/stupid/generous to my ex
