maveta - yeah for the dogs!

AngeG · 14/02/2007 17:07

Zazas good to hear from you and that you are ok. Wow that's brave to have your step children for 3 weeks at this stage of pg. Good on you.

Dooby - Glad your dog is home safe.

Maveta - good ending to your dogs too I understand why you are a bit peeved about having that many people round. Is that what the Spanish do go round in packs It would be a lot easier to have a more informal gathering.

Hi Yvie hope your DH has a nice surprise for you when he picks you up.

Interesting that people are agreeing about the side effects after first taking the iron supplements. Strange that they don't say that it's a side effect or that the MW doesn't tell you. Haven't heard anything else from Captain Dippy yet, but will keep you updated if she doesn't feel up to it.

geordiemacminx · 14/02/2007 17:09

Hey ladies... just thought a would pop in before I jump in the shower - spent the whole day at the hospital as I was having problems breathing this morning. 3 hours in a&e, then the rest of the afternoon in maternity - they not quite sure what it was/is, but it could be some osrt of infection, or something...

Have to say though having spent the afternoon in a lovely room in the labour ward I am very impressed - they were so nice, facilities were lovely, and I even had a nice lunch!! Was monitor all afternoon, though little one obviously wasnt fussed on being disturbed so spent most of the time kicking the pads!!

Anyways I'm home now with a big bag of drugs , andmy consultant has told me I am fine to go away next week, was a bit annoying actually, as he is a liverpool supporter too so he and dp spent most of the time he was examining me discussing craig bloody bellamy!!

Hope everyone else is well, sorry not gonna try and catch up onight as I am worn out.

love and hugs

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 14/02/2007 17:10

Hi everyone, and zaza's good to see you back on. Hope you feel better soon.

Ange, please send my love to CD the poor wee hen. Delighted to read that you mil has seen sense!

Waspbelly, thank you ever so much for your lovely words - made me well up! I am only doing what a million other peeople are doing though, ie balancing work and family, so feel a bit of a fraud.Hope you are keeping well.

Bugmum, thank you for your post as well. Tbh, I think it was lack of sleep that made me feel so low. Feel brighter today, although totally knackered! I will see what happens as time goes on, as I still have a fair way to go.

Dooby, glad your Jack Russell is on the mend.

Maveta, stressing just thinking about your family gathering. I find having lots of people over in one go extremely stressful, even when not pregnant. Can you eat out in the garden so there won't be so much mess?
Glad that the dogs have been rescued and are hopefully in good hands.

Probably missed lots of people - apologies and I am thinking of you.

I have just received the most enormous bouquet of flowers from Andrej via Interflora with the message "to my beautiful wife and mother-to-be." I am so incredibly lucky!

Hope everyone is ok and those planning meals out have a great time.

See yu later lovely ladies. xxxxxxx

AngeG · 14/02/2007 17:12

GMM - That must have been scary glad you're feeling better now and good that you can still go away.

AngeG · 14/02/2007 17:15

SOSPL - I'm even more now. Flowers as well and actually on Valentine's day when they cost twice as much as usual
He obviously took on board how you were feeling what a lovely man.

eca · 14/02/2007 17:18

hi all

just popping in to say hello. I'm really poorly with some kind of virus thing. Was awake all night with terrible pain in my shoulder and being badly sick, ended up puking blood Called the doc in the night because i was panicing about a virus effecting the baby and they weren't that helpful. Said I could have sprained shoulder - which I know I haven't and to call in morning if still bad. Was bit better this am and the pain eased off (managed to get down some paracetamol), but have been in bed feeling sick all day and then just started puking again 1/2hr ago. Hope I'm not in for another night like the last one.

And what makes it all worse is the baby gets really distressed and wriggles round loads when I'm being sick. At one point I had a huge bulge out the side of my tummy because it had wriggled round to a really funny position that it doesn't normally do.

So, have spent valentines day in bed smelling of sick. Romantic eh?

Hope you are all ok
xx

1becomes3 · 14/02/2007 17:22

Just a quick pop in.

Have just come back from having a scan and seeing my consultant.

All is well witht the DT's they are lying top and tail now and seem to be quite happy and settled that way.
She did ask if I wanted to know the sex I said NO!!!
Thought I did want to know but it turns out I don't, I want a surprise

Also the fact that they have buggered it up in the past I thought it would be better not knowing.

The DT's are about 3.5lbs each, which is great that means that at 30 weeks I am carrying around 7lbs worth of baby!

The consultant thinks that the c-section will be around the 10th of April, although he didn't seem that convinced that booking a date would be any good as he reckons i will be in for an emergency section before 38 weeks.

My blood pressure has dropped from 86/132 to 82/130 which is FANTASTIC!

So all in all a good visit!

Hope you are all well and resting up HUGS and LOL got to go do dinner now.

Katy44 · 14/02/2007 17:39

1b3 - can't believe you said no!
We're all just going to have to wait now.
gmm - sorry to hear about your breathing problem, sounds as though the symptoms are gone now? When do you actually go away?
eca, hope you're feeling better very soon.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 14/02/2007 17:39

Oh GMM, how frightening for you. Really glad everything is ok with the bean.
Also glad that you have had a positive experience on the mat ward albeit in a scary way iyswim. Hope you can rest up. xx

weeonion · 14/02/2007 18:10

oh gmm - gald you are ok. bit scary tho. take your meds now and hope billy treats you liek a princess tonight!

1b3 - great to hear yr news - glad the blood pressure is down and all seems well! 7lbs at this stage - you must feel very full of baby!

flumppootle · 14/02/2007 18:20

Busy day,

Nutty girl goodluck with your appointment tomorrow and your DIY at the weekend.

Maveta news about the twins, that is so sad. Dont envy you having to cater for lots of people at once at this stage. I think that I would have refused point blank I am very impressed that you are so organised with it. Do you know when they all coming round?

Dooby, your poor pooch! How is he recovering ?

Hello Zazas, you have been so busy. Its great news that you can have your home brith and have booked your doula, very

GMM - What a fright you must have had! Hopefully you will be feeling better soon and get lots of rest for your holiday.

Sol - Your flowers sound gorgeous you lucky thing, your dh is so thoughtful.

Eca that flu bug sounds hideous you poor soul, wishing you a speedy recovery and better night tonight.

1B3, great news about your bp coming down. So cute your dts being top and tail.

I echo everyone elses sentiments about the iron. I started taking iron tablets about a week ago and they give me morning sickness with a permanent feeling of yuck and heartburn. Although it does seem to be getting better with time. I haven't yet managed to establish whether the liquid iron is as effective as the tablets yet, I am seeing mw next week so will find out then and let you know.
Thanks AngeG for keepping us posted about CD, can you add my hugs and best wishes to the list?

I was in Asda earlier and did a double take when I saw the shelf of Easter Eggs
A step closer to april!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 14/02/2007 18:31

Eca, what a horrible time you have been having, esp vomiting blood. Really hope you are feeling better. Hugs to you.

1b3, really pleased the scan went well. I kind of wish we hadn't found out the sex now, as there have been so many stories about errors.

Liath and MIABT,hope your resepective dh's have recovered from their upset stomachs.

Dh is a darling. I feel bad as I haven't got him anything - apart from some deodrant and ibuprofen!!

maveta · 14/02/2007 18:41

Eca - that sounds horrible, hope you feel better soon. I have a huge phobia of vomiting, in fact it is so strong that the last time I do so was about 8 years ago when I had some kind of bug. I have a kind of superhuman ability to stop myself from doing it but it´s not so good really because often you feel better for doing it. What a tangent anyway yes, do get better soon.

1B3 - Wow that really puts it into perspective when you say you have 7lbs of baby in there, hats off to you!

gmm - hope you have a lovely relaxing evening to get over your scare.

We´re all slowly falling to pieces one by one over here..HELP! seriously do hope all the afflicted on here feel better very soon xx

Dooby - your poor wee dog. I´ve gone through the whole neutering thing with 3 cats now and they are such pathetic little things when they come back looking all woozy and sore. My first cat was in a right old state, I was a bit dopey and put him on the sofa and he fell off [oops] and then wet himself on the floor. Poor sweetheart. Hope yours gets over the indignity soon.

Very of all those with Valentine´s plans etc. in fact I´ve never been a big fan of valentine´s myself and have never encouraged card/ gift giving etc but of course it´s still lovely to receive... You must all be made up.

Flumppootle - well I know they´re coming for sunday lunch but when, I´m not sure really. That´s a good point, I guess I should find out??! All of his siblings are coming from the same village as his mum and aunts etc so if I hear that dh has to go over there to pick the oldies up and bring them out separately I.WILL.SCREAM.

Actually I now feel like I should do something valentines-y so am off to the supermarket to get some ice cream or choccies or summat.

Oooh.. have you seen the March girls are really on the countdown? One´s gone already and one with twins looks like she´s on the move. They´re only the month before us! AAAAAAAARGH!

flumppootle · 14/02/2007 19:09

Hope everyone has a good valentines night
We just need to feed the kids, bath them, get them to bed and then I can cook our meal.
We are having sirloin steak, roast pots, savoy cabbage, carrots and a dianne sauce followed by Green and Blacks chocolate ice-cream....YUMMY.... then who knows???

bigandround · 14/02/2007 19:29

Hi all. Havent been around for a little while as whole family have taken it in turns to get a vile cold. Mine turned into a chest infection and I am taking antibiotics for it now. Can totally sympathise with CD and really hope you are feeling better. On Sunday night I was lying in bed and coughed and it felt like something snapped on the right side of my tummy. It was agony and I was in tears not knowing what to do with myself. Poor dh got a fright too. Spent the afternoon of Monday in the maternity assessment unit. Turns out they think I have either really stretched or actually torn the muscles in my stomach. Nothing can be done about it but every time I cough I swear I am being stabbed. It is so painful it makes me cry, and unfortunately I cough a lot with a bloody chest infection! It is definitely worse than contractions! Am hoping things will settle down over the next few days.

Maveta, full marks to you on your very large party of guests. No way I could cope with that.

SOSPL, glad you are feeling better today, hope you have a lovely evening.

I made us scrummy italian meatballs with tomato sauce and pasta for dinner. We ate that early with ds. I have also made a chocolate and caramel cheesecake which is sat in the fridge for dh and I to indulge in later though!! Just hope it is set in time otherwise it may be a bit mushy!!!

Have a good evening all xxxx

8andahalfweeksandcounting · 14/02/2007 19:38

Evening all - terrible night sleep last night - ready to drop now so Valentines dinner on hold til friday!

Zazas - good to see you back and if the fleece nappies are dark red or turquoise they are a new line - not sure of name but I do have one to test! Could be the white fluffy one you have - very soft - think is called a softee. I think the coloured fleece ones seem really slim and would consider having a full set iin size 2 if happy with them in size 1.

Have read through the thread but am completely whacked and cannot get brain to work!

Will catch up tomorrow

Can someone make a new thread please!

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 14/02/2007 19:42

give me a new name and i'll do the thread!

Bigandround, so sorry to hear you have been poorly as well. The pain sounds awful. I hope the ab's kick in soon and the pain soon goes. That's all you need isn't it.

Your dinner sounds absolutely gorgeous, and the cheesecake - yummy! How can you manage to be such a domestic goddess whilst being unwell?

Anyway, hope everyone has a lovely evening and that dh's/dp's who hadn't done so this morning, come up with the goods tonight so to speak!

Flump, your dinner sounds scrummy too! xx

8andahalfweeksandcounting · 14/02/2007 19:53

EllieK - some suggestions:

I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts!

Sorry, I didn't realise you were pregant!

Last one to pack their hospital bag is a big fat cumberland sausage!

Slip on shoes are all the rage in Milan!

I can't reach my piles to put my pile cream on!

8andahalfweeksandcounting · 14/02/2007 19:54
