Hi ladies, can I rejoin you all?! Sorry for going quiet. I'm 21 weeks now and finally starting to show! Still in my ordinary clothes but think I need to sort out some maternity clothes. All went well at my 20w scan and we're having a boy! I was so excited after my scan I couldn't sleep, it feels much more real now, and like we really might be bringing home a baby. We went to the baby show last weekend and looked at loads of pushchairs, I really like the icandy Apple but neither of us could get it to fold, which is obviously an issue. We're going to try again but if not the I think we'll go for the Oyster2 as I really liked that one.

FlipperSkipper · 16/10/2016 08:49

Oh, I've been told by my consultant that I'll be induced between 37 and 38 weeks, so looking like early February now! Eek!

GinIsIn · 16/10/2016 08:53

Urggghh, totally feeling the sleeplessness pain here - fell asleep on the sofa at 9:30, DH made me go to bed at midnight, then woken up by drunk students shrieking outside at 1:30am, woke up myself at 5am, and again at 7am when the dog decided this clearly meant it was time to go for a walk. SO TIRED!

Shellbell0403 · 16/10/2016 08:56

I'm really struggling with the lack or no sleep... doesn't help with the feeling tired all the time and the feeling I could fall asleep at 3pm lol... think it's another trip back to the docs this week...

Anyone anything nice planned today?

Evergreen17 · 16/10/2016 09:11

Sparkles yes to the "get plenty of sleep now" HOW? Hmm
I am sad and kind of glad we are all sharing this misery sleepless nights.
Also very weird and vivid dreams.
Oh dear.
And I am again to feeling I am not pregnant. Apart from baby kicking I have 0 symptoms. I am starting to think that I am having the easiest pregnancy in history Grin
Apart from heartburn
London nice wee bump Smile
Witch no idea how it works
Ifarfirst a wee girl!! SmileSmile
Nice bump kikis Smile
Flipper great news about the scan Smile
Early Feb! Are you being induced early for a particular reason??

Evergreen17 · 16/10/2016 09:14

Oh! We went to an NCT sale yesterday!!! Not much there really apart from clothes (a lot of)
I have all the clothes I need already. We are being given a cot and I got a sleepy head. We are not buying a pram so only a few more bits and then I have to prepare the nursery!!!!
SmileGrinSmileGrinSmileGrinSmile
I am still trying to find a decent and cheap maternity coat but I want one with a panel that I can remove and use for baby carrying. Not much out there and even on eBay not much and selling pricey

FlipperSkipper · 16/10/2016 09:21

Hi Evergreen! You're so organised! I want to wait another few weeks before we buy anything big. He's got some clothes and blankets though, and my mum is in a knitting frenzy!

I have high blood pressure and early stage kidney disease, which makes me high risk for pre eclampsia and intra uterine growth restriction. I see the consultant monthly and have growth scans booked for 28,32 and 36 weeks to check how he is, and they prefer to induce early as problems are more likely to occur in the last couple of weeks.

MarjorySunshineDust · 16/10/2016 09:41

ever I've seen a coat like that in Next, black one.

Apart from going wild on boden baby clothes I haven't got anything else for this baby yet. We have everything big already really from dd but I do need to get a chest of drawers and sort out the spare room!

Glad the scan went well flipper

Anyone else booking extra scans? I'm looking at booking a private one for 32 weeks as just so anxious this pregnancy.

Shellbell0403 · 16/10/2016 09:53

marjory I'm going to book another scan at 32 weeks also! I'm quite anxious aswell.. especially since I'm not feeling much at the moment also...

PianoOnlyTheWhiteKeys · 16/10/2016 10:03

Another one in the sleepless club here, awake from 1-3.30 then tossing and turning
all night with lower back pain. Next few months will be fun!

I'd like another scan after the last one was so brief, who's hospital's are doing the extra growth scan here? I'm about to change to Lister since we moved but don't know if they do one yet. Have to do another booking appointment, oh, the memories...Hmm

GinIsIn · 16/10/2016 10:06

Oh, and has anyone else now got heartburn/indigestion? FUN!! Hmm

SBSparkles · 16/10/2016 10:21

Morning dudettes... So I actually slept last night!!! Shock only one toilet trip at midnight! Shock I'm also pretty sure my iron tablets are working as I suddenly want to do things and feel more perky!! Off for a walk this morning past the cathedral and down the river ( just a gentle one) driving lesson at 1 Confused DH has been working almost every weekend for ages so I spend them by myself apart from the odd meet up with friends! Totally sucks!!
Hope you are all having a good weekend!

LunaPatuna · 16/10/2016 10:51

I must have been up about 6-10 times through the night, seems like a regular occurrence now. Decided to go out to a gig last night as I haven't been out in months & am trying to do nice things before I'm huge. Thought it'd tire me out & prepare for a great sleep but I ended up being unable to sleep, heartburn & stomach pain almost making me panicky. Started obsessing over bad news and brain wouldn't turn off. OH mumbled something totally unhelpful like I shouldn't have stayed out so late.

Gave in to Buscopan, Peptac, paracetamol, 3am cereal & tried to distract myself by reading about non baby related things. Slept for a few hours but awake again and still sore at top of my stomach, need to keep eating I think. Ribcage pain has calmed!
Are you feeling any better "ShellBell" or is the chest infection still knocking you sideways?

"Marjory" "SBS" I'm really congested/headachey too & had jabs on Monday but attributing this to the pregnancy as I had it to an extent before.
I definitely get the tightness from time to time "kikis" - was concerned for my belly button the other night!
24 weeks today for me & not much movement but I have an anterior placenta, breech little person & carrying lots of water so not too concerned.
Don't want to be this moany person!!

LunaPatuna · 16/10/2016 10:53

Bums didn't edit that properly Confused

FlipperSkipper · 16/10/2016 11:12

Fenella I have terrible heartburn, I have bottles of gaviscon upstairs and downstairs at home and in my desk drawer at work, and the sachets in my handbag, it's ridiculous!

ScottishSnowflake · 16/10/2016 11:23

Another one here who's having bad nights. I don't mind being awake for 30-60mins or so as I've been doing that long before I was pregnant (usually around 2am), but I've been plagued with nightmares for about the last 10 weeks (about 1-2 a week). Keep making hubby jump when I cry out. Wish they would go away Sad

SBSparkles · 16/10/2016 11:34

Scottish aw nightmares don't sound good! Anyone had any more.... Errrr....raunchy dreams?
I have a bottle of gaviscon at home and at work. My heartburn comes and goes but now I think nothing of having a quick swig of gaviscon through the day! Obvs don't have more than I'm allowed!!

kikisdelivery · 16/10/2016 12:09

Morning all, hope everyone's good.

I'm having a bit of an indecisive moment. I am feeling movement, but it's slightly less than I think I've been used to. I'm just not 100% sure though. We've been really busy this weekend with a friend staying but for example I didn't feel anything at all overnight last night. I've felt a few light prods this morning so he might be in a weird position perhaps.

What makes it worse is, the OH has latched on to the NHS thing of not properly tracking movement until 28 weeks, so he just keeps telling me to see how it goes. There's a bit of me that knows he's right... also our friend is still here until around 2.30pm and then someone's coming to view my car we're trying to sell at 3pm. I just don't know what to do about whether I should call the midwife or not Sad

I guess I just wanted somewhere to rant a bit.

Shellbell0403 · 16/10/2016 12:13

luna still feeling abit bleuch tbh, no energy and lack of sleep and the infection is being a nuisance, can't get breaths properly sometimes! The joys. Going to meet a friend today then home to bed!!
I also have an anterior placenta so not feeling much at all but getting some more movement...

sparkles ehm yes... I have some of them... didn't want to mention in a sec anyone laughed at me! Lol

kiki you should call if your not feeling right

SBSparkles · 16/10/2016 12:22

Kiki how many weeks are you?

kikisdelivery · 16/10/2016 12:24

Sparkles 23 weeks and a couple of days now.

I really sometimes get so angry with the OH for his "it'll be fine" attitude. He's not the one doing the work or feeling any of the sensations...

I wish I could get out of this car viewing stuff and so on.

SBSparkles · 16/10/2016 12:28

Kiki honestly I went about 2 or 3 days a few weeks ago without really feeling much. The baby is so small they can be at the back where you can't feel it! I called my midwife and she said I was even lucky I could feel anything as some women don't even start feeling movement till about 24 weeks! It really is true that only at 28 weeks you'll feel it more regularly because the baby is bigger and hasn't got room to hide! Remember to try to stay calm and if you are still worrying if make an excuse to go to docs (just say you're having some twinges or something) and they automatically listen for a heartbeat. Easier said than done but really try not to worry!!! Smile

divadee · 16/10/2016 13:04

For those after a new pocket sprung cotbed mattress. I have just got this one on offer. You must use the code in the link to get it for £59.95. It is still sold on the mamas and papas site for £119!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 16/10/2016 15:17

Oh, I'm getting the heartburn already. I had it in the late stages with DS. I have memories of guzzling bottles of gaviscon at my desk at work. Now I seem to be gnawing on a rennie each night before I brush my teeth.

Is anyone else suffering with pelvis pain? Again, I had this in the late stages with DS, but I've had it for a good couple of weeks now. My hips, bones in my bum and groin ache, and my bump feels really heavy if i walk even the shortest distance. I'm starting pregnancy yoga classes on Wednesday, hope that relieves some of the aching.

Oneiroi · 16/10/2016 15:32

Ifatfirst pregnancy yoga is great, hopefully it will help and you will enjoy it. It is refreshing, teaches useful breathing exercises and helps you to stretch out achy muscles and relax. Instructors seem to be really knowledgable as well.
