Marjory - almost everyone I know has a cold at the moment!! I feel like I've had a mild one ever since the flu jab but looking back it was starting up just before! 5th ink it's just the time of year! Going to be hard when winter comes!!

SBSparkles · 15/10/2016 09:36
  • I think
Oneiroi · 15/10/2016 10:06

Evergreen I totally agree with you about the sleep. It's so weird drifting off at 10pm and waking up at 5 or 6 without the alarm clock! I've always been a night owl up until now.

MarjorySunshineDust · 15/10/2016 10:07

sparkles The perils of being pregnant over winter, never had any of this last time with a baby born in a heatwave!

Discovered yesterday that my giant parka zips up over my bump easily so hoping to get away without buying a maternity coat.

Oneiroi · 15/10/2016 10:16

Marjory the plus side is we'll all get to be on maternity leave over the summer time Smile

MarjorySunshineDust · 15/10/2016 10:24

oneiroi I like your thinking! Picnics in the park with a baby that can't run away yet!

Shellbell0403 · 15/10/2016 12:58

Just went to a Jack and Jill market and saved a fortune 😀😀😀

SBSparkles · 15/10/2016 13:40

One Oooh yeah never thought about it like that!!! Summer is a lovely time to have a new baby!!! Apart from the illnesses, winter is a great time to be pregnant - time to wind down and cosy up and wear lots of comfy layers!

Oneiroi · 15/10/2016 13:48

Exactly Sparkles, need to dig out warm jumpers, get the chimney swept, fire lit and go into full in hibernation mode!

LondonGirl83 · 15/10/2016 14:41

My hump changes depending on bloating. Here it is at 22 weeks!

I'm also a little sick- sinus issues giving me a headache I can't shake 😷

Hello all, loving the bump pics, I might take one myself later - my first as I haven't felt like doing it until I thought I had a proper bump!

Stupid question alert! The midwife measures the bump and something should be roughly the same number of cms as the number of weeks... but how does that work when we even those of us who are the same amount along have different size bumps?!

LondonGirl83 · 15/10/2016 15:54

My bump is still fairly small so I wonder the same thing witch

twocatsandatoddler · 15/10/2016 16:11

Witch they feel around for the top of your uterus so they're supposed to measure fundal height, not size of bump. Not that I think it's an accurate measurement as everyone's different, but they definitely do more than just put a tape measure to the bit you see.

Here you go - this is a good way to see what they are measuring....

Went for a private gender scan today as they couldn't be sure at my 20 week scan. The lovely sonographer gave me a free glimpse in 3D! Our little girlSmile

Ifatfirst awwwwwwwww OMG that's just AMAZING!!!! Smile

SBSparkles · 15/10/2016 18:30

Witch even though our bumps look different sizes that can be very deceptive. A tall person (such as myself) might look smaller because my bump is more stretched out but a shorter person might stick out more or look like it is because it's on a smaller body! It so depends on hip width I think? Some people have remarked how small my bump is but it's actually measuring the right length (even slightly over!) hope that makes sense!

kikisdelivery · 15/10/2016 18:42

I love the bump pics! Here's mine at 23 weeks, with bonus same dress as the earlier one Grin

He's getting there!

I look like I'm poking it out! But I was trying to keep my arm out of the way!!

I've started to pick up contacts for a few bargains now.. after my whinge of second hand things being awful! I've got a contact selling a nearly new Chicco Next to Me, a snug moses basket like the one I liked in Mothercare, for daytime use downstairs, and a friend of a friend of the OH who is offering a cot for free. Oh, and someone else through work selling a large chest of drawers for £50, which I'm going to look at to measure height etc.

Suddenly everything's hit at once! Hopefully it's all actually in decent order - we can't really snub the cot given it's a freebie, but fingers crossed for the bedside sleeper/basket etc.

Mysterycat23 · 15/10/2016 20:48

We have a bathroom!!! Had a shower this morning. First time to shower without going to a hotel for 2 years! I feel quite emotional and in shock almost! Building dust absolutely everywhere but DH mopped the floors, what a lovely DH Halo Now all that's left major work wise is getting carpet put in upstairs.. Needless to say I will not be much help to poor DH on that front. I honestly don't know what we're going to talk about once it's done. Oh.. the baby?! Grin

How are other people getting on who were having work done or moving house? Remember there were a few of us a few weeks (months?) back... Time flies!

bellaboo88 · 15/10/2016 21:32

Hey, sorry I'm a bit late joining the bus! Still on 2 other busses from last time round!

23weeks with #2, babies due date is baby#1s birthday oops!

Trying not to compare bump to first time round, my belly buttons already starting to look stretched!!

As I've already got all the baby stuff from last year, is there anything 'new' about? Feel left out from the shopping etc!

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 15/10/2016 22:33

My bump feels pretty huge already Blush . I knownits not weight gain as I haven't piled it on, 12lb at 24 weeks is fine so not that. I think its more to do with this being my third and there not being all that much between them. It's my youngests second birthday tomorrow, I can't believe how fast its gone! Then on the 27th my eldest turns 4. My babies are gonna be 4 and 2, what's that about!?!

Bisquick · 16/10/2016 05:54

Marking my place! Also yes to bump feeling different each day! And I've started waddling almost - didn't realise it was possible to look this inelegant while climbing a staircase!

Shellbell0403 · 16/10/2016 08:21

Another horrid night sleep... fell asleep at 11 and up and awake at half 1 for ages then back to sleep eventually and up at half 5... struggling! Anyone else have a better night?

twocatsandatoddler · 16/10/2016 08:37

Shell I'm feeling your pain. Only just got to sleep and then DH got home just before midnight (he's been away for a few days and got a late flight back) and then I was wide awake from 5:30. I haven't had a break from getting up with DS for 4 days while he's been away and the first morning I get a chance to, I'm wide awake and can't sleep!
