Kikis that was me on Thursday regarding movement and glad I called because I am a worrier.

LondonGirl83 · 16/10/2016 16:56

ifatfirst I have been diagnosed with Pelvic girdle pain (mostly affecting my hips and groin. Yoga and primates both offer me a lot of relief!

LondonGirl83 · 16/10/2016 16:57

*pilates not primates

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 16/10/2016 17:05

Primates Grin

kikisdelivery · 16/10/2016 19:46

Ok so I called the midwives in the end, who advised following the rule of lying on my left for 2 hours (!!) and counting any movement, which should reach 10 movements over the 2 hour period.

So I lasted about an hour, but he'd moved by my count about seven times just in an hour. I had to really waggle about initially though, to get him going. He must be really tucked in and turned away from my front.

So I'm not going to go up to the ward or anything. There's a bit of me that does still want to run off for reassurance, I must admit - and if it'd been a weekday I would have as I don't have time to lie on the bed for an hour randomly! But I've just had dinner and I can feel little lighter than usual flutters and so on.

In other news, I'd seen a Chicco second hand for sale and messaged the woman with an offer, saying I'd go next weekend. I assumed from her wording that she'd accepted, but she just messaged me to say she's sold it Hmm ... guess I'll keep looking!

Shellbell0403 · 16/10/2016 20:04

Girls with anterior placentas... do you feel movement every day?

SBSparkles · 16/10/2016 20:34

Shell I have one of those and yes I do feel movement everyday but only since about 24ish weeks Smile it's often lower down, in the ribs or at the back. But before 24 weeks I could go a day or so without feeling much x

ScottishSnowflake · 16/10/2016 21:01

SBS, are those hoodies any good?

SBSparkles · 16/10/2016 21:35

Hoodies? Hmm

SBSparkles · 16/10/2016 21:36

Ooooh sorry! I wasn't clear! I meant I had an anterior placenta! Lol! Smile

kikisdelivery · 16/10/2016 22:18

Been having lots of movement for the past hour or so Grin - I need to learn patience I guess.

Didn't sell my bloody car earlier Sad. I really want to get rid! But no bites really - I had a viewer today but they wouldn't budge on their best price, despite me agreeing to drop slightly and meet in the middle. It's 3 door, hence the sale - pretty much all mum chums I've spoken to say 3-doors will just been too knackering to lift baby seats in and out of.

We did get some really nice second hand chest of drawers though, but the OH has immediately nabbed them for himself and freed up his drawers for the bub! Grrr!

twocatsandatoddler · 17/10/2016 07:31

kiki it definitely depends on how the baby is lying at this stage as they still have quite a lot of room. I thought Baby Barry was being quiet on Thurs so I was wondering whether I should be concerned, but actually he'd been really low down in my pelvis for ages and had just moved up so he probably had more space and so I didn't feel the kicks as hard as usual. When I concentrated I realised he was moving around just as much as normal but the sensation was much more subtle so easily missed when I was busy focusing on something else. Yesterday he had moved again and I got lots of movement higher up which I could feel more strongly. That's probably why they say not to worry about a pattern until 28 weeks, as the baby grows a lot between 24 and 28 weeks so by that stage they're probably big enough that you should be feeling movement consistently however they are lying.

I'm bunking off work today. Got about 2.5 hours sleep after getting up to the 3yo about a million times. She was boiling hot and couldn't sleep. Still hot today but otherwise fine. Childminder said there's something going around but was still happy to have her. Hope I don't get it! Off to try and snooze now...

kikisdelivery · 17/10/2016 09:23

twocats I forgot he was called Baby Barry! Grin that just made me giggle in work! Yeah, he's definitely moved lower again this morning, but always seems to when I cycle, so I'm getting lower abdomen boots.

gumboots ... I wanna too! I woke up this morning with literally no reasonable reason like you, I just had a major case of Can't Be Arsed! I'm in work, but I wish I wasn't today! I normally don't mind Mondays, but urgh.

GinIsIn · 17/10/2016 09:34

Props to you twocats for the name Baby Barry! Grin ours is being referred to by a very similar moniker and I am starting to get slightly concerned that once he is here the daft 70s nickname will be so entrenched we won't be able to call him anything else! Grin

Shellbell0403 · 17/10/2016 09:36

Mine is jellybean 😀

So I'm back at the docs, finding it difficult to breath. Does anyone else feel as though they are wasting the docs time sometimes?

kikisdelivery · 17/10/2016 09:49

Fenella (and twocats ) .... our nickname is Baby Claude! Don't ask.... I also have the same "oh crap I hope we don't keep calling him this joke name once he's out" thoughts!!

GinIsIn · 17/10/2016 09:50

kiki nice! I can't relay ours as its a play on our surname and will out me, but think Baby Bruce or Nigel or similar.... Grin

twocatsandatoddler · 17/10/2016 10:14

Fenella and Kiki I have a friend whose child is still nicknamed Bob 5 years later as that's what they called her bump!

Barry came about because we were talking about names no one calls their kids anymore (Nigel being one of them!). I was telling my friend who is 36 weeks about Barry when I saw her on Sat, and one of the names I said no one called their kids anymore is on their list Blush. I've realised that no matter how dated or awful you think a name is, it's probably best not to voice your opinion to a pregnant friend!

LondonGirl83 · 17/10/2016 10:19

Shell don't feel that way about the docs. Every time I ring them, they want me to come in even though I personally don't want to. I feel like they are wasting my time but in pregnancy everyone has to be extra cautious about everything. I am normally the kind of person who refuses to ring the doctor unless my arm is falling off!

We are calling our baby 'baby girl' at the moment. My MIL told me she liked my DH's choices for names best this weekend-- he quickly told her though that one of them isn't even on the short list. She then put forward her nan's name: Florence, which neither of us like. I'm beginning to wish I'd not opened up this line of conversation with her!

Sorry to all of you sleeping badly for different reasons.

LondonGirl83 · 17/10/2016 10:21

Also, is anyone reading First Time Parent

I decided it was time to think a little bit about the baby and less about the pregnancy! I think my mind hasn't fully appreciated that a baby will be living with us in a few months and I'm hoping this will jolt me into reality!

I am just starting it and so far I like the tone and the reviews made it seem really useful.

LondonGirl83 · 17/10/2016 10:23

I should say we don't hate Florence (its pretty) but it just doesn't sound like our daughter.

twocatsandatoddler · 17/10/2016 10:23

London I have that book from last time, I liked it. It's honest and doesn't sugarcoat everything but doesn't take itself too seriously either.

OP posts:
Shellbell0403 · 17/10/2016 10:58

London DH mentioned Florence because we went to see inferno... I was like nope! Lol...

So just back from the docs, more antibiotics as my chest infection hasn't cleared up, inhalers and my blood results came back, I'm anemic so been given iron tablets! Shake me and il rattle! Haha
