Ok I am not usually a worrier but my little lady has been very quiet.

Yesterday and last night haven't really felt her after so much movement last week could it be because I'm back in work and distracted that I haven't noticed? She didn't do her usual "dance" last night.

24 weeks today and my puffin is so quiet Sad

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 24/11/2016 10:50

Maybe ring your midwife for peace of mind? It probably is because you're back in work and distracted but I'm sure the hospital/clinic will be happy to talk to you/see you anyway.

NameChange30 · 24/11/2016 10:50

Genghis Good news about the airline policies!

Carol My midwife said if you notice reduced movement, lie down on your left hand side for at least an hour and count how many movements you can feel. I can't remember exactly but I think she said if there are less than 10 movements in 2 hours, you need to call the midwife team or the hospital. I'm guessing you must be at work but is there anywhere you can lie down or sit quietly in your lunch break to see what movements you can feel?

Carolann8584 · 24/11/2016 11:43

Thanks ladies, I can try on my Lunch break, will try I have a lay down in my car.

My Midwife only works at my surgery on Wednesdays but I have just called my Gp for a number for the 24 hour line.

Carolann8584 · 24/11/2016 11:56

MW 24 hour line suggested the same as name will go on lunch have something to eat and some cold water and relax Smile if after that if still the same she wants me to go in so they can have a check.

NameChange30 · 24/11/2016 12:21

Best of luck Carol, hope your baby does lots of wriggling when you go and lie down! Can you put the car radio on or read a book or something? Failing that there's always MN Wink

Carolann8584 · 24/11/2016 13:00

Well back at my desk, not even a flutter, MW line engaged now.

amorita · 24/11/2016 13:04

Hi all, I'm board hopping frm the July board. I've read through the last three pages and its lovely to read of all you progressing in your pregnancy and being supportive of each other.

I hop over to this board like something that hops a lot to ask a quick question. My cousin has told me that i'm not supposed to use bleach to clean with around the house during the first trimmester. Was this true or did you carry on using it? She said something to do with the fumes

NameChange30 · 24/11/2016 17:21

Carol Hope you've managed to speak to one of the midwives by now.

amorita I believe it's a good idea to avoid using products containing strong chemicals, but I don't know how much research there is to show that it definitely harmful - i think it's more a case of being careful just in case. If you use rubber gloves for cleaning and keep the house well ventilated (ie don't breathe in too many fumes) I should think it would be fine!

froglou · 24/11/2016 17:43

Carol I'm in the same situation, felt a couple of flutters but not as much as usual. I haven't phoned the midwife because I've still had a little movement, also I don't drive and am too far from my doctors at the moment and didn't think it warranted hospital. I think it might be in my head because 2 nights ago I had movement I could actually see to, think it got my expectations up.
Let me know how you get on

Carolann8584 · 24/11/2016 18:29

Hello ladies back from the hospital, heard good strong heartbeat, as I have an anterior placenta it cushions the kicks, I worried because I felt so much last week even my OH felt her quite a bit. I didn't even think as she grows so does her placenta so will cushion more. I was told if I don't feel her in the next few days to go back or if I feel her a lot then she goes quiet again. They will take a look. They were happy with the size of bump and heartbeat so GrinGrin

NameChange30 · 24/11/2016 18:43

Ah I'm really relieved for you Carol! So glad you got checked out and they were happy Smile

amorita · 24/11/2016 18:49

NameChange I probably am just being overcautious but i'm a paranoid freak at the best of times let alone when pregnant. God knows what I will be like the rest of the pregnancy ha. I only want to put bleach down the loo. I've been a good girl and refrained from using it since my cousin informed me of this last weekend but its doing my head in now thinking about all the germs i just want to bleach it. Have you been using it?

NameChange30 · 24/11/2016 19:18

amorita Well I'm lazy lucky in that I have a cleaner, so I don't do the cleaning Grin However, being pregnant wouldn't prevent me from chucking a bit of bleach in the loo! Hope your pregnancy goes well and you manage not to feel too anxious x

So glad everything is ok carol ! I have the same with my girly , I'm anterior so sometimes I feel lots others not much at all !
Amorita I still bleach the loo Smile

Cloeycat · 24/11/2016 23:10

Amorita- I am a massive bleach fan and certainly haven't stopped using it (granted I hadn't heard we weren't supposed to!). Two weeks ago I did my monthly 'big scrub' where I go at all the drains, sink, bath, shower with bleach and a scrubbing brush... haven't had any side effects I know of?

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 24/11/2016 23:13

Wonderful news Carol, I'm so glad all was well.

Amorita I still use bleach down the toilet too :)

Hugh I bought a few things but nothing very exciting or big...and mostly for me not the baby Grin They seem to have some good deals on a couple of baby monitors.

NameChange30 · 25/11/2016 08:31

Hugh
We are buying baby stuff! Grin Haven't bought anything big yet as we were waiting to see if there were any deals. We're looking at pushchairs / travel systems over the weekend and hoping to buy one! Also planning to order a Snuzpod, cot bed, mattress, mattress protectors and sheets (there's money off Little Green Sheep at the moment). I've found the cot bed I want (this one) and just need DH to agree to buy it - he usually has to think things over!

Carolann8584 · 25/11/2016 09:08

Lovely cot bed Name We are just looking at a cot as we already have a toddler bed from our youngest as he is now in bunks with his DB.

Completely forgot deals started last night, I slept very well from 9! which somehow made me feel drained this morning

amorita · 25/11/2016 09:30

Ok thanks everyone. I think you lot have convinced me its fine to get the bleach out. The germs have had a good week now so their time is definitely up!

NameChange30 · 27/11/2016 20:13

How is everyone?

Did you get the bottles in the end carol?

We've had a very busy but successful weekend of shopping. We've chosen and bought the pushchair, car seat, Snuzpod, cot bed, mattress... Spent £££ but saved a lot on Black Friday deals as well. Feeling exhausted but relieved!

alpha Funnily enough we've bought the exact same pushchair as you! (The black Armadillo Flip XT for half price.) Did you get the carry cot too or just the pushchair? We got one of the carry cots that was also on sale... and a half price footmuff for good measure Grin

Carolann8584 · 27/11/2016 21:03

Didn't get the bottles in the end, too many choices. Didn't know which one to get. Sounds like you had a productive weekend name

My little lady has been sooooo active, don't know why she was so quiet the other day Smile OH has felt her roll over as well as kicking. Think she had the hiccups for a bit last night Smile
