Im still veering between water birth (even though last time I was dead against one as thought I would just get annoyed at being wet) and being very natural using my Daisy birthing techniques and having an epidural as soon as I can.....cant really get more opposite in approaches and am really going to have to decide on the day at this rate.

I haven't done the Birthing suite tour I am going back to where I had DS so assuming it will be the same set up but might phone them next week to double check since it has been almost 5 years.

I have a couple of bottles and a steriliser that were gifted unopened from a friend but no formula yet might get some in just in case as we now 10 minutes from nearest shop and if emergency like we had last time with DS when feeding wasn't going well should really be prepared.

I feel huge!! 35+1 and I swear I don't remember being this big when DS was born at 40+12 will be interested to see what MW says at 36 wk appointment next week.

I have a concert at Wembley which was booked pre pg when I will be 36+5 it will mean a 2 hour + drive, hotel stay and then drive back thankfully it is pitch level seating so no steep climbs. Am starting to think I must be mad!!!

LisaTheSimpson · 31/08/2016 16:16

So sorry, Juliette, you absolutely have and I missed it. Thank you!

Hi all checking in!

Lillian 37 with a 32+3 baby girl. Feeling huge and uncomfortable especially when trying to sleep!

Hospital bag 80% there - now just need to look for some giant pants!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 31/08/2016 17:50

I have period like cramps in my stomach and bad backache at the moment. I can't get comfortable

Is this normal?

positivity123 · 31/08/2016 21:18

Erm that sounds a bit like labour... although it could be trapped wind. I'm on baby 1 so I've not experienced it yet but might be worth calling the hospital?

DerekSprechenZeDick · 31/08/2016 21:22

I'm on way now

Good luck!! Let us know how you get on!

LillianFullStop · 31/08/2016 22:12

Hope all is well derek! will be looking out for your update

Figgy Wembley concert sounds adventurous but at least no steep steps for you. Let us know how LO likes it - my LO kicks about when I'm in a store with loud music especially if it has bass.

32+3 and tossing up between working the end of 36w or the end of 37w. Leaning towards end of 36w atm

sherbertdibdab · 31/08/2016 22:12

Joining the party as it all gets exciting...

Hope all OK Derek!!

Figgygal · 31/08/2016 22:14

Baby no2 just arrived on the FB group

I'm so unorganised still!!!

FuzzyOwl · 31/08/2016 22:23

Thanks for the new thread. Hope everything is ok Derek. It feels like an influx of October babies, even though we are still in August.

I started maternity leave today. Yay!

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Kariana · 31/08/2016 22:39

Hope all is well Derek!

I ended up at the hospital today, I just got too worked up about the lack of movement over the last few days, especially after I read something on here about sudden reduced movement after lots of excessive movement being especially bad (which is what has happened). Luckily all was fine on the trace and they did a quick scan which showed movement and good amounts of fluid. The NHS Trust I've moved to though is taking part in a research project about links between small babies and risks of stillbirth though so I have been offered a growth scan tomorrow, which I took them up on. Excited to see the baby (screen wasn't on a good angle today so I just got the odd glimpse of spine and an eye at one point) and hopefully there won't be any problems. It was such a relief to get the reassurance, especially because he kicked during the monitoring but has gone really quiet again since, I'd have been in such a state by now if I hadn't gone.

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 31/08/2016 22:41

Glad all ok kariana.

Hope all is ok Derek.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/09/2016 01:13

I'm home. The monitor picked up that I was having mild tightenings lasting 10-15 seconds.

They did a test which told them I was 98% unlikely to go into labour in the next 14 days. Never knew such thing existed!

My body is doing test runs for when it happens and just been a bit too enthusiastic about it. Baby is staying put though

Derek - glad all is okay.

I just wanted to give a quick heads up about the facebook group. Now babies have started to arrive we are planning to close the existing fb group to new entrants in the next few weeks. This is primarily because of the need to safeguard personal/sensitive information (there's no anonymity on facebook and people do tend - quite naturally - to post quite a bit of personal stuff), but also for size and cohesion reasons (we're already up to 65 members).

If anyone on this thread still wants to join the facebook group, there is still time - just send me a PM with your real/facebook name and a description of your fb profile picture.

J

Glad all is ok Derek. Hope you can get some rest today.

Nickname1980 · 01/09/2016 09:05

Just marking my place!

Exhausted today after a bad night's sleep. Glad this is the final stretch!

Anyone got a car seat yet? Which one did you choose?

Figgygal · 01/09/2016 10:27

Nick we've got a maxi-cosi just because it fits the pushchair which is something I didn't bother with last time but did wish I had!!

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 01/09/2016 10:54

Nickname we have a maxi cosi pebble which we had with DS. With car seats I think it depends whether you want to attach it to a pushchair or not. I found this useful, but then when DS got bigger I found it too heavy and ended up leaving it in the car. Id I was buying new i's probably go for something that stays in the car and lasts a bit longer, like the britax dualfix, which my parents have. The good thing about it is that you can rotate it to the side so it's easier to get the baby in and out.

LillianFullStop · 01/09/2016 11:26

Glad all is well kariana and derek! It's such a nerve wracking time isn't it???

I got a second hand maxi cosi pebble too that we'll keep until 6 months. We'll get a new fixed one for the car after that.

daydream86 · 01/09/2016 16:43

Eeek we can now officially say our babies are due next month!!

LillianFullStop · 01/09/2016 16:53

omg daydream that's true and it is freaking me out! 4 more weeks til ML for me!

MeDownSouth · 01/09/2016 18:34

Ack! It's going too quickly now! Had an infant feeding workshop this morning - 3hrs!! Sure when I booked she said it would only be 2.... Brain is cabbaged.
Anyone else hungry most of the time? I keep wanting to eat but am having horrible indigestion :(
And it's weird talking to you on here and fb! But nice to put faces to usernames :)

clank2 · 01/09/2016 19:51

Oh my god, a second baby already...how wonderful, are they both ok?Im feeling so like this baby is ready to come out. He is very low, heavy, loads of pressure etc. Made the mistake of going into town today to do the school uniform shop. Walked impossibly slow, almost thought I wouldnt get home due to the pain and now my hips and back are seized up. Now baby is making movements that feel like burrowing into my bones...no exaggeration, I am yelping in pain when he kicks my organs. I had a very painful braxton hick earlier and so now freaking out as I also felt very unhungry earlier and hoping its not early labour. He needs 2 more weeks in there ideally. My midwife appointment yesterday was annoying, ended up getting sent for assessment as had high bp and protein in wee on 2 things, this consisted of sitting in a chair for 2 hours and having my bp done 3 times to be told to go home...no other checks, no dialogue with anyone, just a waste of my time and my partners time as he had come to the appointment with me this time. I am just so seriously uncomfortable...this is my 4th baby, i have never felt like this before which is why Im a bit unsure what is going on with my body this time. Also because of the drama about the high bp i didnt get to havde much discussion about the birth AND she forgot to give me my matb1 AGAIN! I have now packed a bag just in case, we are meant to be having home birth, but im worried he will be early!
