Think I had a show this morning, ...citing innit!

sorkycake · 03/02/2007 11:35

I don't know why my pooter is double posting btw, sorry.

suis · 03/02/2007 12:18

.. the pooter must be feeling the excitement too Sorky !

DP says that should anything happen today (I should be so lucky)that hanging on for the end of the rugby will entirely depend on the scoreline... bear in mind that we are north of the border here !

Smudge - thank you for your concern... finally got back to sleep about 7ish, but got a few single hours in since then so I'm just about functional for the day ! Which is good, becuase it's really lovely here today. I might even go for a short waddle to the shops just to get some rays.

Andyrobo - good work on the stats... however, me and Suzi2 are back into being one person. I'm the 11th, Suzi2 is 15th.

Ooo exciting Sorky - and the sad thing is, it really is exciting!

Well, Dh has his big meeting as I speak and my midwife is back in the area after tomorrow night, I have defussed my legs and pits (won't be doing that with cream again) and had my fringe trimmed, the babies room is ready(ish), the push chair is sorted, the homebirth stuff is all collated, my pikles are more manageable, the changing bag has arrived, . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . all I need now is the baby. Or even just a sign that it mightcome this month would be good. Loads of BH - and quite regular ones too but nowhere near painful enough for them to be real and sdtill lots of movement. So where's this baby then?

Heard my other 2 talking this morning as I was aking up "I really love the baby" says dd(6), "I love the baby too" says ds (3 - and won't entertain the idea that it won't be a girl - he's decided that we should call it "Edie" after the driver in Balamory - strange thing is that I actually like the name and dh isn't opposed to t either!)

Better go and get some lunch/ entertain the kids/ do the laundry while I still have the energy

Bienchen · 03/02/2007 12:41

Sorkycake - lucky you, hopefully it is the start...

Snugglebumnappies - I'll keep you company as I'm not due until 24 Feb. I have to hang in there until 10 at least to get the homebirth and ideally until 22 as have exam on 21 - hope that LO is listening. Lo has been excellent last few days, now LOA and 2/5 engaged. Could have been sitting cowboy style, sitting on birth ball, vigorous cleaning or the Pulsatilla .... I could do with buying a few wraps to go with the tots bots nappies as I got stung on Ebay. Bought six wraps and they turned out to be foldable liners (were clearly marketed as wraps, so a bit miffed. At least they were cheap but that's besides the point. Do you have a special code for MNers or shall I just use the website?

Have a good weekend all!!

snugglebumnappies · 03/02/2007 13:13

Bienchen just email me and let me know what you want and will sort out your MN discount (DH still not got his act together!)
Currently timing my irreg contractions, and trying to eat a bit of lunch, feeling a bit doubtful as I know they will go off soon!

ja9 · 03/02/2007 15:05

afternoon everyone.

exciting news about sorkys show... and those have contractions. v exciting. wonder if we'll hav any new bubs by end of day?

dh keeps asking me if today is the day - i wish!! would love for it to come today. still 3 weeks to edd though. good thing about first preg was that i was expecting it to be late - heard that most 1st babies are. so when it came early it was totally unexpected. this time round i'm expecting it to be earlier, and hoping it will be even earlier than last time, so i'm going to be getting impatient well before my time!!

bouncy, we had that venture offer. really pleased with the photo we got, but i was really disappointed by the whole experience... - still that's down to the individuals involved and unless you're going to the glasgow branch you'll probably have a very different experience. i went to the showing determined not to buy extra photos as knew their prices were ridiculous, but it is really hard to resist, so be warned!

snugglebumnappies · 03/02/2007 17:26

Well don't think this baby is coming today, just trying to make me very uncomfortable!

Did a bit of a search in venture threads after tommys post, very mixed bag, it does seem to be down to the photographer you get. Have found a fab link on one of the threads to a Mnetter who does portraits from photos, the stuff on her website looks great so may get a good photo of the three of them to have painted instead! pics

snugglebumnappies · 03/02/2007 17:28

Try again pics

snugglebumnappies · 03/02/2007 17:29

ok so if you get the idea just cut and paste the link, aghhhhh!

MoosMa · 03/02/2007 17:51

When you're doing a link outside MN you have to put the bit on the beginning. At least you got a link to go somewhere though!

snugglebumnappies · 03/02/2007 18:07

yes I guess it went somewhere, did put the http but think I missed out the //, god I am determined to get it right before this baby arrives!

hairycaterpillar · 03/02/2007 19:32

Hi all!

Am sitting quietly typing as dd in big bed has realised fun to get out and run to find us...using the rapid return method and seems to be working last night only up once. Sounds like she has stopped singing/chatting to teddy so hopefully thats her for the night!

I've been having loads of runs of painful tightenings yesterday and today, but I've got two weeks until edd and was late with ds and dd so sure I wont be early this time .

Sorky - so exciting about show, good sign body is gearing up for action.

Sympathies with everyone finding it hard to sleep, somedays I just feel too tired to even think about going into labour never mind actually physically doing it!

Also did the "venture" thing, we had a fantastic time (kids loved it). Were very pleased with 2 photos we got BUT vvvvvv expensive (ours was a gift thankfully!). We felt an enormous pressure was put on us to buy more and it was v tempting as photos are fab and the way they push them is clever and hard to resist (drinks and snacks and slideshow on wall to music).

sorkycake · 03/02/2007 19:50

Still here, BH'ing away, the odd sharp pain but nothing else much to report, looks like it's a slow introduction to the world for babysorky. Still am in no rush now, the more that is done pain free the less time I have to labour for real IYKWIM.

andyrobo237 · 03/02/2007 20:26

Yes another one here who did the Venture photo thing - they are extremely pushy - the photos are fab and showing them as a slideshow set to Keane music on the wall had me and my SIL virtually in tears! We only managed to spend £400 between us - had piccies of our two children taken together and picked five piccies in total - termed as desk size ones. I would have loved the large ones but don't have the space for them - nor the £1000+ to pay for them!

A friend went to Pixiphoto who have a digital studio in our local Mothercare and got really great photos for less than £200! It all depends on what you intend to do with them!! It gets worse when they start school - we get an individual one and then in the summer term a class photo - cheapest option is £9.50!!

SmudgeMum · 03/02/2007 20:46

Evening, Exciting about the show Sorky but it's not allowed to come to anything. There's a queue you know

It was beautiful weather here - hope the fog eventually cleared Snugglebum. We went for a walk up a big hill to a monument. I was hoping that lots of steps would encourage this one to get moving but just lots of tightenings that are uncomfortable rather than painful. I've just had a phonecall from a really good friend who has said that her kids (aged 7 and 5) are coming up this way in half-term and they were planning on dropping in to see us and the baby so can we please get on with it.

Suis did you make it to the end of the rugby? I think DH would have been ok to leave a bit before the end if needed but did wait until about 15 mins before end until he texted his Scottish friend!!

Sweet dreams and pain free sleeping to all

ja9 · 03/02/2007 21:30

queue - lol!!!

sorkycake · 03/02/2007 21:44

am in line honest somewhere behind peachy i reckon.
Am having a chilled glass of Rose whilst I wait for Dh to finish cooking one of his delish curries.
where did you climb today smudgemum?

ja9 · 03/02/2007 21:57

oh sorky that sounds lovely. chilled rose - mmmmm. really missing wine. tried to have some tonight but it just made my heartburn flare up .

SHHHH · 03/02/2007 22:06

oi sc, get back in line behind me..! I should by all accounts be next but think someone needs to tell this ds2b in my tummy.!!!

qsack · 03/02/2007 22:07

we did the venture thing too! seems like there are a few of us around. again, went with the intention of not buying any extra's. we did end up getting another but it was a gift thankfully as +£200. the worst thing is that you go not wanting to buy anything extra then see all these great photo's and feel bereft when you leave because of all these great photo's you've said no too! we used to live in oxford and had some photo's done there by a guy that would come to your home or toddler group etc and did some fab photo's that were a tiny fraction of the price, infact someone today asked us if they were by venture. this is him if anyone's interested. john cairns

sorkycake · 03/02/2007 22:07

Since bub fully engaged I've not got h/burn, which is only reason i can have it. Once baby comes I'll be demand feeding for a few weeks so no wine then, having a sly glass now

qsack · 03/02/2007 22:25

oh and one other thing. is there anyone else out there that's getting absolutely no sign of anything imminent even though they are due any day??!!! there seems to be lots of 'shows' and bh's around for those due later in the month, i'm getting very jealous!!! saying all this i guess it was the same with my first two but, no sign then wham it all came at once and as a bit of a surprise. even so, I cannot wait this time to go 12 days overdue! for one, i don't think i'll have any clothes left to fit me!!!

suis · 04/02/2007 00:23

Smudge... I managed to sleep through most of the rugby, and I think DP gave up on it after a while in disgust ! Plus the TV coverage was all from down south so the commentators weren't exactly sympathetic to his point of view, which didn't help.

Just wanted to say... aaaaaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhh.
Been up since 3:30, after a paltry 2 separate hours sleep, restless leg has still not settled and I've got a busy day tomorrow which I now know I am going to have real trouble coping with.
I have run out of middle of the night things to do.. they have to involve standing up, but not waking DP or neighbours, so no hoovering or DIY. (Am currently standing to type) And just to make life more interesting the more I stand up the worse the swelling in my hands and feet gets.
I am now actually starting to get a dread of bedtime because I know that every night is such a damn fight to get any decent sleep.
gripe whinge moan complain. again. sorry.
