Morning all. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I might have pushed my way to the front of the queue! Woke up at 2.30 with pains which started at about 8 mins apart and are no.......hubby here...she's had to stop for a sec.....to be continued

....now about 3.5 mins!! Not had a show and my watners haven't broken but these feel pretty real. I phoned hospital when they were at 2.5 mins and they said if I can hang on at hime then do so for a while untilI don't feel I can cope anymore. DH just put on Monty Python - not sure which is more painful!!!! Wishing you all the best and I will try and let you know our news.

Hi suis, well I am up too, DD has been awake for about an hours but in bed feeding (if that's what you call it, she's gettng absolutly nothing at the moment but still insists there is milk there!) she was up about 4 times in the night but I would have been up that much anyway to go to the loo! Had a cery relaxing seaweed bath last night, a client bought me a seaweed therapy kit last year and hadn't used it ubtill last night, DH did comment that it looked like there was a dead cat in the bath whilst it was running (the seaweed is in a mesh bag that grows to the size of a small cat when it has absorbed the bath water) and it didn't smell as plesant as a lush bath bomb, however it seemed to work wonders for my contsantly tight calves (feels like I have permenant cramp in them, this isn't just a preg issue but gets much worse then). It is supposed to be excellent for athletic injuries (as if I would have on of those!) arthritis etc.

Well the fog didn't clear yesterday and my contraction were on and off all day, deff not BH as had backache and a bit of a cramppy feeling as well, baby feels like it's going to fall out of my bum (could well do if it is only a 5lber!) so finding the birth ball lovely at the mo. Going to go round to my mums later and try to make this blind whilst she keeps an eye on DD and DS as DH is hopeless at the mo, didn't do anything yesterday and used the "well you were having contractions" excuse!

Hope evreyone has a lovely Sunday x

So pleased for smudge mum - hurray! Hopefully within 24 hours you will have a beautiful baby in your arms. . . . . I keep thinking labour is gonna start - 1st son was 1 week early so labour will start next week if this one is on the same schedule. Felt VERY pre-menstral in terms of things making me cross and also there is just no more room for baby now. He has moved over from right side to left side but still gettin heartburn so don't think he can be engaged yet - who knows. Have a midwife appt on wednesday so hope for some type of engagement by then! Have had some mild contractions but these happen 2 or 3 times then stop. . . . May go for a long walk this afternoon and then tonite am going for a thai meal with 4 friends from parentcraft group with DS1 - they all have baby no.2 by this time last year so will have lots of worldly advice for me. Take care all and try to enjoy the calm before the storm!

I'm out here, and out of my mind with anger, still waiting for DH to get up despite callig up to him three times, having done two loads of washing, unloaded and reloaded diswadher, done the kids breakfast, a nappy wash and got DD dressed, aghhhh he's getting more and more hopeless the closer the it is to the baby getting here!

Hope things are going from strength to strength with your contractions Smudge!

What a busy thread this has been the past couple of days! Trying to catch up.
Andyrobo - as much as I wish I was due on 7th Feb I;m not actually due til 14th. Though mayb thats a sign that the 7th will be my day! Heres hoping - if thats the case only a few more days to go! lol

Thats great about your show Sorky - at least you know something is happening.
Are you still with us Smudgemum/dad? Hope to hear your good news soon! Really is getting exciting now - just wish mine would come now - dd is getting very impatient - she woke up this morning and told me that the baby was coming today - if only she was right!!

On BP front - back at hospital for daycare assessment and bp had settled, protein now just a trace and bloods were all fine. Back again on Tuesday to be monitored again (mayb they'll offer me a sweep to hurry things along!)

I assume your waters are still in tact? You having a home birth or planning on going to hospital?

Report
SmudgeMum · 04/02/2007 11:14

Yes waters intact which makes me think might not really be happening. We're going to hospital but I have a real fear that they'll just send us back home and say it's BH!
Snugglebum, hope DH has got up and is starting to help. Not what you need at all!

Will keep my fingers crossed for you that its the real thing. Think I might go get dressed and take myself out a nice long walk - hopefully get things moving. lol

good luck smudgemum!

I had a bad night as well - the baby was headbutting my pubic bone which was really painful and for the last few days, it's got to about 5pm and I've just been completely exhausted and unabale to do anything.

DH starts his new job tomorrow as well which is good but not sure yet how things will work out with him getting home at a reasonable time to put the DSs to bed - should be interesting to say the least!

smudge mum - my waters didn't break until i was past 8cm dilated last time.... so this could still be it for you.

Report
qsack · 04/02/2007 14:36

if you're still there smudgemum, agree with ja9, my waters didn't break before until 15mins before i delivered, i seem to remember I wanted to push and had forgotten my waters hadn't brooken yet, so they did with the first push and 4 pushes later he arrived. all the best, look forward to some news.

WOW this is all very exciting, great news about your show sorky and smudgemum fingers crossed everything will be happening soon.
It has been very busy on here, ususally weekends are very quiet but time is ticking isn't it!!
Me and DH went into London for another show yesterday .. tryning to see as much as we can before baby comes. We got tickets for Avenue Q, second row of the stalls for only £20!! It was great, really really funny.
Is anyone else finding they get lots of BHs when they are walking about, I felt decidedly twingey yesterday which just panicked DH.
After my show My CM has really changed colour too. (sorry TMI alert )It is very dark , coffee coloured I suppose. I've put it down to the position of the baby and it pressing down on things, I will mention it to the midwife on wednesday.
Good luck ladies!!!

Am so excited for you Sorky and Smudgemum, and Peachygirl too - your show and change in CM must mean some action is imminent?

My cs is booked for Friday but I'm now impatient for it to come before, so have been going for long walks every day and went out for a curry last night! The walks usually trigger lots of twinges and BH, and I got 2 strong BHs when in the restaurant last night, but nothing more than that. Am going to eat a fresh pineapple tonight and see if that does any good.

Dh and I finally put the cot together yesterday, and I've made it up with all the sheets and blankets which made me feel very broody.

wooo sorky and smudgemum, good luck ladies!!

Tutti- i know what you mean about getting impatient, my cs is booked for the 16th, Ill be just over 39 weeks, he left it that late to see if i would go into labour before, had pains every 20 mins or so today! Part of my show i think 2 days ago. Lots of CM since. Bit worried i wont know when its happening , hospital is 40 mins away, got visions of him showing his head in the house or on the M4 in the car lol!

Im back up the hospital tomorrow lunch time for another trace.

Quick question?! does anyone get pins and needles in their bump?

I get it just under my right boob, about the size of a 50p piece quite strange?!!

CM is cervical mucus , don't get too excited by mine as if things start for me it will mean rushing to the hosp and presumably an emergency section rather then the relaxed elective I would prefer... but has anyone else's changed colour???
Oh yeah I for got to say about the baby and the theatre, she really enjoyed it I'm certain that at one point she shuffled to get a better listen!!
