great news Titchy! congratulations! Bethany is a beautiful name.

Bubble - not sure what they meant, but with me, the first day after the cs I was lying in bed with a big pad between my legs which a mw would change every couple of hours and wipe my lady bits. There was also a disposable mat thing under me, which was changed. The day after the cs I was woken at 6 and told to go to the bathroom myself and do a strip-down wash at the sink and get dressed. With no help at all! This time I will tell them to b*** off and I will go when I have DH to help and I'm good and ready. Some of the mw weren't helpful at all, in my fluffy post-birth state I just went along with it, I have a feeling this time I'll be a bit more of a tiger

Congrats to Titchy and Bethany!

Newbie question - does it matter of car seat is in front or back of car? Seem only to see them in front, but dh's car has passenger airbag which I'm sure we'll have to pay a dealer to switch off - are we allowed to have seat in back instead?

Congratulations Titchy! And welcome to Bethany.

IRIS66 thanks so much for your good wishes! I hope I don't have to wait too much longer either!

LOTS of Braxton Hicks for me at the moment, the odd one enough to take my breath away. One of the NCT girls who was also due yesterday was having contractions which started yesterday at 3am so we wait to hear about her. My reaction was 'it's not fair!'. All the family are on tenterhooks especially my parents - first grandchild, and they are poised to do the four hour drive down from York as soon as they hear baby is on the way. I must admit, much as their excitement is lovely, I am feeling the pressure a bit!

Have a good day all of you - and hope all these false labours / early labours sort themselves out and we have some baby news!

congratulations Titchy!

Alocin - car seat can only go in the front if there is no airbag or the airbag switched off. It's perfectly normal to have the car seat in the back seat. Maybe you're just noticing the ones in the front more?!

Morning all. Congratulations Titchy - our first Feb baby through and through! Now come on the rest of them.......

Welcome back to Ja9 - it's hard to keep up isn't it?

Alocin, we're going to have to put our baby seat in the front as the seat belts in the back aren't long enough but we can turn off the airbag. I think if it fits in the back, it is often recommended to have it there.

Went out for drinks and a meal for DH Birthday and I lasted until 10.45 - how impressive is that? Absolutely cream crackered today though!

Good luck those who are starting to have movement. Those of you being booked in for CS, it must be weird to know the final date and plan round it. Hope all goes well. SHHHH how did you manage to get a sweep at 40+1 - I'm not booked in until 40+6 and boy are these days going to drag!!!

Titchy, congratulations.

Leahsmum, glad sallyally was around to help you out, been a bit "puddled" lately and finding it hard to keep up. With pre eclampsia I always think the most imporatnt thing is the blood picture (yes some women do have raging pre eclampsia and a normalish blood picture but when things like urates (tested with liver function test)are very high thats the time action is really needed) did they tell you what your blood results were?

I have had a couple of really disturbed nights and am absolutly exhausted, SPD is now agony at night, turning over in bed is a huge effort but have to do it as I am waking up in pain from lying on that side for too long, then I end up effing and jeffing asnd shouting at the pain as my pelvis clunks and clicks through the rotation, must get in touch with a chiropractor today! Also had a couple of days on and off contractions and nausea, never wishes one of my babies out early before but this one I am urging on, pool doesn't arrive till Tues but I don't care anymore, will happily make do with the bath if I have to! Did a bit of cervix rooting lastnight, couldn't find anything (but then I have got very short fingers!) everything just felt soft (thinking it was the posterior vaginal wall TBH), reminded me of my first VE as a student when the midwife asked me what I could feel and I just wanted to cry as everything just felt soft!!! Took me ages to master that skill! Still have loads of stuff to do so practically baby can't come out yet, going to see if my mum can look after DD today whilst I just do a few of the jobs on my list. Oh and DH finally got round to inflating my birth ball last night as it had been sat out in the garden for last year as kids had been playing with it, forgotten how good it is to sit on something and not feel like the world if falling out of my backside!

Morning everyone.

Huge congrats to titchy and welcome baby bethany. Look forward to hearing your story soon...

Special thoughts to the folks due today and now overdue - SHHHH, SALLYALLYALLY, SOUNDBITES, BABYCAT, SMUDGEMUM

DH and I have a night out arranged tonight - ds going for overnight stay at pals. Sounds lovely in theory but i really can't be bothered. Will probably go for food and cinema - we hardly ever get to the cinema together anymore - it's funny what you consider a huge treat when you're a parent!

snugglebumnappies - sorry you're having such a hard time with your spd. hope you're managing to rest and finding comfortable positions.

Congratulations Titchy and welcome to Bethany!

Just got back from appointment with consultant, not really sure what it was for, but hey. That's it now, I'm not driving one more inch. I drove home from PILs yesterday (10ish miles) and to hosp and back this morning (7 miles each way) and am in so much pain I can hardly walk. Also the LO turned back to OP when I drove yesterday and is stubbornly staying there so I have backache. I think I've pulled something in my groin too as my left leg doesn't work very well anymore, and I have a nasty pain creeping round the left of my pelvis at the back which hurts constantly. I'm so fed up and want this baby out now!

Hope everyone else is feeling comfy today!

Forgot - peachygirl - we are having our c-sections within a day of each other! Did you get a choice of date - we did, and picked valentines day, not because it was that day - didn't fanc the 13th - one day birthday will be on Friday 13th! We have alot of family birthdays as a multiple of 7 - one on 7th, 14th, 21st Jan, 14th March, and so on, so it kind of fitted!!

Well done titchy. Hope LO and you are doing well.

Feel sorry for all the aches and pains you all seem to be having - I seem to have escaped too much. I get hip pain at night but I've mastered the art of sleeping sitting up so it's not too bad. The only other annoyances I have are that my walking is down to snails pace and I can't stop eating ice cubes at the moment - don't know where that came from!

Whilst we wait has anyone got any amusing dreams or stories to tell to keep us going?

I had a dream the other day that I was going to give birth to a load of changing bags as well as the baby.

Don't worry all - we'll all be properly babied up within the next month and a half. They cannot stay in there forever. The wait is hard but chocolate helps with this I've heard - so I think it is our duty to test the theory!

My Dad just sent me this as well!! Hope that our babies will bahave a bit better than this!

Foetal Frolics

I wish I was a foetus
I never would be bored
Sitting in my uterus
Swinging on my cord.

To worry obstetricians
I'd be a proper beast
I'd change position on the hour
Transverse, oblique then breech.

To student midwives I'd present
A mystifying case
I'd hide myself inside the os
And leave an empty space.

I'd tie my cord into a knot
And wave it through the cervix
I'd give the midwives such a shock
And laugh off all my vernix.

And when my membranes rupture
I'd be a right old pest
Presenting large diameters
I'd transversely arrest.

I'd tell my pal placenta
To get himself detached
To theatre then the lot of us
Would pronto be dispatched.

And when they start to caesar
I'd laugh and think "Tee hee!'
When no-one else is looking
I'll come vaginally.

Hi all a late start for me today.
Congratulations Titchy on your daughter!!!
andyrobo the consultant suggested the date. He said he like to keep them in for as long as poss to mature baby's lungs. I wouldn't have liked the 13th either. We basically said that we didn't mind the day as long as it was not a Tuesday as DH has nearly all his teaching on that day and he's already had to do major re-oganisation of lectures to have his paternity leave. That seems quite a silly reason but I know I'm very lucky that DH doesn't have to go into work everyday. It is qute weird actually as I had that date in my mind as the one when baby would come!!
Plus its not MILs birthday
Thanks for updating the stats
