Is anybody else got period like symptoms at 9 weeks?nand back ache

ahsan · 27/08/2016 18:49

Anyone's bump moved up :)

alphabook · 27/08/2016 19:32

Do you mean pains or bleeding mummy? I regularly have period-like twinges but any bleeding should be checked out.

Has anyone else booked a private scan before 20 weeks? Just booked one for 16 weeks, my anxiety has been getting bad so I don't think there's any way I'll be able to just wait till 20 weeks.

WelliesAndCake · 27/08/2016 19:52

Wow charlybs, sounds like you are having fun in Malaysia!

Emma's Diary is a thick booklet that the midwife gave me at my booking appt. It has a pretend diary of "Emma's" pregnancy and some other pregnancy info. I've not read it yet but saw there was a coupon to fill out and exchange at boots for a free 'mum to be pack'. It had a little bottle of palmers stretch mark cream, 3 newborn nappies, a baby sponge, breast pads Confused and some leaflets. You might be able to sign up on line? There are 2 more packs to collect too. I think it's like the Bounty packs. Have a great holiday!

Butterpuff · 27/08/2016 20:13

General aches and pains yes mummy and lower back aches but no bleeding.

Ahsan today my she noticed my bump for the first time. It's pretty high and sticks out more than my decent size boobs! I'm really short though, so no way I can't carry high!
Any Mums had a previous c-section and feeling pains on what I assume is the internal scar?

Dozygirl · 27/08/2016 20:23

As it'll be getting colder I reckon it'll be easier to dress a bump, I'll be wearing jeans, stetchy vest tops and warm cardigans. That's kinda what I live in anyway haha. Plus can wear that afterwards too to bf in. I'm still fitting in my usual clothes at the moment though.

Tutuloves · 27/08/2016 20:32

I'm on the case as we speak Alpha trying to convince my hubby re the 16 week scan. It's meant to be a lovely experience with nice music in the background and really relaxing. You'll love it.

Happygojo86 · 27/08/2016 20:41

We'll be having a 16/17 week private scan if all is well, but more because OH won't be home in time for my scan, so I will be going to my dating/Nuchal scan on my lonesome Sad. It'll be ok though, whatever happens.

I'm at a wedding tomorrow. The last time I see the in laws before the scan. Not sure how I will hide not drinking. Might get one glass of wine and nurse it all night, pretending to drink it.

SuperDuperJezebel · 27/08/2016 21:06

All I want tonight is a cold glass of wine. I rarely even drink but it's so hot, and DH is having one. Coke Zero just doesn't cut the mustard!

Bought a dress for our wedding anniversary in New Lool, little bit snug around the waist and my boobs are falling out (will pin it), friend reckons it'll be good for breastfeeding but I doubt I'll fit into it then!

I'd stab my next door neighbour in the eye for a cold sauvignon blanc

(I am exaggerating a bit. I like my next door neighbour. The noisy gobshites across the street though... Grin )

charlybs · 27/08/2016 23:35

Happygojo I'll also be going to the 12 week scan alone - OH can't get the time off work. Considering taking my MIL with me just for some support but not sure.

Mummymulb16 · 28/08/2016 05:25

Is the 16 week scan where they can determine if it's a girl or boy or r u guys just going for reassurance? Alpha - no just period like pains really achey!

Happygojo86 · 28/08/2016 06:30

In my local area they will do a gender scan from 16+3, however be warned, my best mate had one, told she was having a girl. Did a massive gender reveal thing on Christmas day with balloons and her husbands family on Skype from Australia. Then went to her 20 week scan with her mum and found out she was having a boy! Apparently they had a really clear view at 16 weeks of the '3 lines' that mean girl but obviously it had just been a bit early for the boy bits to develop!

Carolann8584 · 28/08/2016 08:01

Had my first brew in over a month! OK it was decaf but I don't care Grin

Sorry all this talk on pains and gender scans all I can think of is a cuppa Blush

Started to feel less nauseous these days as well, yay. Still not got my sweet tooth back but I have a tub of Ben and Jerry's in the freezer for when I do
X

neonrainbow · 28/08/2016 09:18

Oh dear ... that illustrates the problem with gender reveal especially before the baby gets here! I've got a third scan today to do the nuchal test. Ill have to try my best to drink enough this time as i think last time that may be why they didn't get a good enough picture.

Happygojo86 · 28/08/2016 09:56

Neon I screenshot the message I sent her the morning of her 20 week scan. I said 'get them to check the sex, because I am not convinced!' And then a couple of hours later she sent me an ultrasound picture of a little willy!

I still feel like crap. DD isn't letting me get much sleep either and OH is going to be offshore for a while yet. This is the longest I have gone solo parenting and it's really hard! I have no idea how single mums do it. Massive respect to them!

Dustycorners · 28/08/2016 11:59

I definitely want to find out the sex of the babies at the 20 week scan. I wasn't bothered when I thought it was one baby, but now I know there are two, I feel I need to be able to plan! Nub theory guesses are all so far unanimous that twin 1 is a boy, but no nub visible for twin 2, so I need to wait and see...

I'm also considering a 16 week reassurance scan, but not sure I can justify the expense.

neonrainbow · 28/08/2016 12:32

If i get decent pics with visible nubs today I'm going to have to get them analyzed :D

neonrainbow · 28/08/2016 12:34

Private scans near me are £99 at 16 weeks but £39 at 18 weeks by then I'll only have to wait 2 more weeks anyway! But my mum wants to go to a scan and she offered to pay for a private one.

Cloeycat · 28/08/2016 12:40

Which is the website where they guess at the gender again?

Dustycorners · 28/08/2016 12:46

www.in-gender.com, Cloey. It's American. They guessed my DS correctly last time so I trust those ladies! But boys are easer to tell than girls, in general.

Neon scans are more expensive for multiples - the cheapest I could find near me was about £60 for a v quick reassurance scan. Obviously more expensive for a proper growth scan or gender scan.

Tutuloves · 28/08/2016 12:52

Goodbye all day sickness. Hello the beautiful second trimester. Whoop whoop so long sickness I will not miss you!!

neonrainbow · 28/08/2016 12:59

Dusty that was just a single baby so god knows how much they'd charge for twins!

Mummymulb16 · 28/08/2016 13:16

Tutu- has your sickness just disappeared as soon as u hit the second trimester? How far r u? I can't wait for mine to endSad

MissClarke86 · 28/08/2016 13:41

I never had proper sickness, but the day I hit 12 weeks I just felt so much brither and fresher and my headaches have gone.

2 days until scan...eek!
