Wishing you lots of luck for a positive outcome butter and lake x

DH and I haven't really discussed names yet. We had a boys name I thought we'd agreed on but DH has changed his mind so we're back to square one! We'll probably start thinking of names once we've found out the sex.

PourMeAGlassOfMilk · 01/09/2016 21:55

Hi everyone. I was on thread 1, a little on thread 2 and skipped thread 3 altogether. I'd had a miscarriage in January and found the best way to cope with it all was to bury my head in the sand until the dating scan, which we had yesterday. This little bean is a sticky one so far with a lovely heartbeat and measuring for a due date of the 14th of March, 1 day off my estimate of 13th March. Couldn't be more over the moon! We told our boys tonight and they are pleased (thank goodness) making all sorts of plans about good ways to be big brothers like sharing toys and singing nice songs to the baby. I will catch up on what's been going on shortly but there is a lot to read through and I just wasn't emotionally ready to join in properly until I'd seen that fuzzy black and white picture.

PourMeAGlassOfMilk · 01/09/2016 21:56

And for info, DS2 has already determined that the baby's name will be Whizzy!

neonrainbow · 01/09/2016 22:56

That's great pourme I'm glad the scan went well.

NameChange30 · 01/09/2016 23:07

PourMe I'm glad your scan went well and your boys are so pleased Smile

Ooh I like Whizzy, PourMe, it's very elegant!

Clarity77 · 02/09/2016 08:05

Pour me - I had a misscarriage in January too and it does effect your feelings sadly. I still check for blood regularly.

I have my scan tomorrow at 11.5, booked a private one as just couldn't wait until 13.4. For the NHS.
Haven't discussed names with DP but I do have a secret list which I will reveal if all goes well with the scan tomorrow.
Need to tell work soon but think they may be suspicious following my request for time off for a hospital appt when I said I couldn't change the date due to specific timings needed.
Good luck all with scans and tests.

Tutuloves · 02/09/2016 09:04

My DS is called Elijah so I'm letting hubby have his choice of Reuben this time if it's a boy. Better not give my DD name away as maybe someone will identify me ha ha.

Clarity77 · 02/09/2016 10:17

So annoying to see all the names I'm considering already in the top 10.

Carolann8584 · 02/09/2016 10:24

Our boy name is listed but we expected that, its my OH's dads name, I like it so not taking it off the list, girls names not listed Smile

charlybs · 02/09/2016 10:29

We've probably hit upon our girls name but we are totally stumped for boys. So tricky to find something a bit different but not too different. I must have gone through almost 1000 boys names and haven't found one I like yet. Makes me kind of hope it'll be a girl. Also because eew willies hahah Grin

NameChange30 · 02/09/2016 10:36

charlybs Grin
I definitely felt a bit ewwww about the idea of a boy (immature I know) but I'm coming around to it!
I'm quite pleased with the boy's name we have in mind, I thought of it before I got pregnant and DH wasn't sure, but he actually brought it up recently and said it's really grown on him. This is going to be my tactic for all the name decisions Wink

I have always known my girls name, its a version of my granddads and mums name which I love but since we found out we were expecting beany I have struggled with a boys name then thought if I am leaning towards a family name for a girl why not for a boy. We both have the family tradition of the eldest boy has the dads name as a middle name but as my OH has already got 2 sons beany wouldn't be the eldest boy.

Just hope my dad doesn't take it personally if we name a boy after my FIL and not him, you don't get many Grahams nowadays. He has 5 sons so if he want to pass his name on that much he would have done it already (my eldest brother has it as middle name).

ItsMagicYouKnow · 02/09/2016 11:07

Willies are lovely Grin
We like unusual, but traditional, names. We struck gold with DS's name, so it's been hard coming up with a new one.
It has to sound nice in both French and English, and both OH and I have to approve it, so that narrows it down quite a lot!
I'd been preparing a list since BFP more or less, and shared it with OH after our scan. He vetoed all the boys' names and most of the girls' names, so I've had to start from scratch!

butter hope your tests go OK today. Good luck for all scans too. And welcome back, and congrats to everyone who's joined in again! Pour, we're due date buddies Smile

ItsMagicYouKnow · 02/09/2016 11:10

Lake sorry you got worrying results. Hopefully you'll get more info at your next appointment Flowers

NameChange30 · 02/09/2016 11:14

ItsMagic We have the same criteria (has to sound good in English and French). I think you should tell your DH to come up with a new list, since he vetoed all yours!

Ok 2 things

1 - very dizzy today, have eaten and am now drinking Volvic Juiced Orange, its got a quite high sugar content - to drink or not to drink??

2 - before we found out we were expecting we discussed if not pregnant by September we would go to New York in November as something to look forward too if we didn't get our BFP. We only ttc for 1 cycle before the BFP(yay) which was a surprise. Now we are deciding whether to still go New York anyway. We have saved each month as we always do. We keep thinking with a new baby we won't get the chance to go for a few years. Flight is 7 hours we will be 22ish weeks by then. would be going for 5 nights with our flight home being a night flight as well.

Anybody think it's a bad idea?

Smile
NameChange30 · 02/09/2016 11:18

New York is NEVER a bad idea Grin
Well, unless you're more than 30ish weeks pregnant in which case it would probably be best to go another time!
But at 22 weeks I would go Smile

Hey ladies has anyone set up a Facebook page for March mums to be?
I use Facebook more than mumsnet and most times get lost with all the posts on here Hmm

Carolann8584 · 02/09/2016 11:40

Thanks name my OHs only worry is all the walking would make me more knackered than I already am, but I haven't really slowed done in my day to day despite the tiredness.

We went Vegas last year, lots of walking but was sooooo hot in the afternoon (41-46) we would have naps anyway Smile as least NY would be cooler x

Carolann8584 · 02/09/2016 11:41

That should be Slowed DOWN not done Confused

Helbel82 · 02/09/2016 12:33

I'm having a right nightmare trying to get my 12 week scan booked.
Saw the midwife for booking in app last week and she said I would get an appointment through the post. No sign this week and so rang up the hospital on Wednesday and they had no record of me and asked me to call my midwife so that she can fax through the needed documents. Called her and they said she'd call me back and I've heard nothing. So I phoned up my GP today and she is on leave until next Thursday!
I'm 12 weeks next week and only have next week and week after as I'm going away during week 14. So I'm panicking now that I won't get a scan in time.
I've tried to call the hospital again but finding it difficult to get through! Confused
And breathe! Sorry for the rant.

Carolann8584 · 02/09/2016 12:38

Nightmare helbel hope it gets sorted soon xx
