And to those working shifts, I do too. I told my boss really early when it all got very vomitty and he was wonderful. He said that I didn't have to do nights anymore and to do the hours when I could. Have you tried talking to your boss?

I can't be seen in early pregnancy unit until Tuesday so just going to have to sit tight over weekend. I'm meant to be in work on Tuesday but I work in another department too and it's so busy I'll never be able to get off it. Not sure what to do. It's also a small place and people talk.

ScandiManny · 19/08/2016 09:57

Of course, that makes sense Smile Will (hopefully, all being well) re-add myself later with an accurate due date.

Hope everything is okay Milky and Littlespoon Flowers

I have my scan in just over an hour. I'll be honest, I'm terrified. My first pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage at 13 weeks so despite the fact I've had no pain or bleeding it's not really of any comfort and I'm just so scared of it happening again.

Fingers crossed all is fine though and hopefully I'll be back to update about 11:30 with good news.

marmitecheesetoast · 19/08/2016 09:58

That's a pain milky, maybe you should just call in sick?!

marmitecheesetoast · 19/08/2016 09:58

Good luck scandi and littlespoon

jpeg28 · 19/08/2016 10:07

Good luck scandi

littlespoon I had that exact same thing yesterday. I went to GP and the sent me to EPU thinking it was ectopic. I had bloods and scans and they found the sac in the right place measuring correct for 5 weeks but they also saw something on my left ovary and some free fluid which must have caused me the pain. It's most likely a cyst but I have to go back for more bloods and scans. If it's a cyst it's nothing to worry about and today I have had no pain at all. Don't want to scare you just thought I would tell you exactly what happened to me. I am sure it's completely nothing and if you get scanned at least it's an early peek at your baby!

needtoloseastone · 19/08/2016 10:17

Thanks for the add choccy

Good luck littlespoon and scandi

TopKittyKat · 19/08/2016 10:43

No marmite - I'd have thought they'd want to get you booked in. My appointment is 30 Aug. I saw my GP last week and she's sent a referral off for my first scan as well so I'm eagerly waiting for the postie to visit!

choccybiscuit · 19/08/2016 10:53

I have to book my first and second scan at my booking in appointment, got to wait until 16th October though.....seems ages away

TopKittyKat · 19/08/2016 10:57

That's like a lifetime choccy
Time just seems to be going so slowly since I got my bfp, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas Day and feeling like its never going to get here.

marmitecheesetoast · 19/08/2016 11:01

A really lovely lady from the hospital just rang me back - said they would want to get me booked in as soon as possible, especially with it being my first. So not really sure why the woman on Monday said it was too early to be ringing them! Anyway booking-in appointment is on 6th September, which isn't too far away really! I'll get my first scan appointment booked in following that apparently. Now I just need to figure out what to tell work! What's anyone else done?!

I feel better now i've spoken to someone and 'on the system'. Although it's also made it even more terrifying as more real!!

IrnBrufan · 19/08/2016 11:09

marmite I haven't told work yet - I'm still on Mat leave from my first though and struggling to decide if I should tell them before I return or not. My scan is a couple of weeks after I've went back to work. It's so hard to know the right thing to do

TopKittyKat · 19/08/2016 11:16

I haven't told work either.
I've just said I've had a doctors appointment and left it at that.
I think they suspect though. We had a leaving do the other week and I wasn't drinking and I left early. I'm normally the first to get the drinks in!

Bubbinsmakesthree · 19/08/2016 11:21

DS has got chicken pix and was up most of the night - so I am now stuck at home, exhausted, feeling sick and trying to look after a poorly toddler whilst also sending work emails on my phone. Roll on the end of the day!

marmitecheesetoast · 19/08/2016 11:23

Ha it's so hard to keep it a secret isn't it kitty especially on the drinks front!
I was going to say I have a GP appointment too, and at least it's first thing at 8.30 but she said it would take about about an hour maybe longer and then I've got to travel from there to work so think I'd be quite late in (I start at 8.30) later than I'd normally be if I had a gp appointment... Hmm I have for 2 hours of time owed me to take, but I was kinda hoping I could save them in case I'm feeling crap and want to finish early one day! Not sure what to say it's so awkward getting time off work

TopKittyKat · 19/08/2016 11:28

If I were you, I'd stick to the time owed and then just say that the doctors were running late and kept you waiting. They don't need to know it is an 8.30am appt. it could be a 9am appt and then if they were running 10-15mins late then the timings would work out.

TopKittyKat · 19/08/2016 11:28

I meant keep the time owed!

ScandiManny · 19/08/2016 11:45

One blurry little baby, in the correct place with heart beating away. Measuring exactly 8 weeks today so due date is 31st March.

What a relief Grin

Number4OnTheWay · 19/08/2016 11:48

Hello! Can I join on to the back of the bus? I'm due 27th April with DC #4. I'm really excited 😄

Littlespoon · 19/08/2016 11:48

At the EPAU waiting for a scan.
Keeping everything crossed.

Number4OnTheWay · 19/08/2016 11:53

Littlespoon good luck, hope all is OK xx
Marmite in my experience these things never take an hour (unless you have lots of questions) I'd tell them the appointment is slightly later like topkitty suggested.

marmitecheesetoast · 19/08/2016 11:59

Thanks guys that's a good idea think I'll do that, thanks! Normally if I ever have a GP appt I always get 8.30 one but I'll just tell my manager it wasn't available and it's not til 9.15 or something. Then I won't be stressing about the time and commuting!

Great news scandi how exciting
