That's brilliant scandi

hummingbird100 · 19/08/2016 12:04

I think I'm about 5 weeks tomorrow. No symptoms really other than fairly mild nausea waves coming and going - my last pg was a mmc in April (discovered at 12 weeks, baby made it to 9w 1d) so I'm so nervous and trying to not really think about being pregnant again Sad

hummingbird100 · 19/08/2016 12:05

Oh and great news scandiGrin

BertieBotts · 19/08/2016 12:06

Hurray scandi!

Good luck to anyone with scans or checks happening soon.

I am feeling quite stretchy today and trying to wear all of my facourier trousers which won't fit soon while I still can!

BertieBotts · 19/08/2016 12:06

Oops, that's favourite. Not sure what my phone was trying to say.

marmitecheesetoast · 19/08/2016 12:07

I was thinking facourier was some sort of fancy designer brand 😂

BertieBotts · 19/08/2016 12:13

I can't say anything at work yet because I'm supposed to be working towards moving to a full time contract. They probably won't be happy when I do tell them so have to wait until the contract is signed. We are planning if I'm full time for DH to take the bulk of parental leave which might sweeten the pill a bit, but I'll still have to be off for about six months which is sure to annoy them.

It's depressing really because DH is thinking of telling his boss early because he thinks they might give him his next pay rise early. Silly that it works totally the opposite way for him.

BertieBotts · 19/08/2016 12:14

Lol marmite. Probably :o

JennyOfOldstones · 19/08/2016 12:23

I am not telling work until my scan unless I feel really rubbish or they want me to travel or something.

5 weeks today-this time goes soooo slowly so trying to forget about it while not accidentally drinking wine or eating pate.

Great news scandi and good luck little

abeandhalo · 19/08/2016 12:29

I am going to have to tell my boss at around the 9-10 week mark unfortunately because there's some projects coming up at the end of Sept that would require some heavy lifting on my part, that I can't really do now, so I'll need to tell them to get some extra help in.

I'd rather not tell them so soon as I know it will effect any hope I've got of a pay / title increase this year but I don't really have a choice. Bloody gender pay gap.

Hearing your morning sickness stories I am feeling very lucky! I've been alright so far in comparison. Hopefully it will stay that way as I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks tomorrow!

SharkBastard · 19/08/2016 13:11

I've told work because of my last 2 miscarriages, I had to take time off so just pre-warning them that it may happen again. They are fine about it, so that's something!

Feeling pretty queasy from time to time, however, I'm still VERY early. Struggling at night, seem to fall asleep early but wake at 3ish, lie there awake dreading having another miscarriage, consoling myself, then dozing off again at 5:30 and having to wake at 6am!

I won't call the GP till I'm 7 weeks as the last two didn't make it past 6.5, so don't want to have to cancel it. Been so long since I had my DD that I can barely remember anything.

Great news on the scans that you've had, bet it was lovely and reassuring :)

Flowers to those having issues and worrying, it's a really awful time when in limbo

jpeg28 · 19/08/2016 13:27

Great news scandi

MilkyChops · 19/08/2016 13:28

Fingers crossed for happy healthy pregnancies everyone Flowers

I didn't go through any of this with my first as didn't find out until 18 weeks as I was traveling and not showing until. Has my first scan thinking I was about 6 weeks and there was a full blown baby looking thing in there, turns out I was like 17+ 6. It was a whistle stop tour and he was born at 37 weeks so only had a 20 week pregnancy.

Need to ring my managers manager now as mine is on annual leave. He's a bloke though and I find it easier talking to a woman about these things. Laos I've only met him a few times. I hope he's understanding though as he's had kids.

I feel sick as a pig today, hoping it's a good sign that hormones are increasing and not just the worry waiting for Tuesday. Do tests still show up as positive for a while even if the worst has happened. How long do HCG levels take to drop.

LotsaTuddles · 19/08/2016 13:31

Had my scan on Wednesday. All fine. Tiny little turtle, tiny little heartbeat.

Registered with mw straight after. So now just waiting for her to contact me now. 7+1 I think

Morning sickness here with a vengeance now, which is fun with 2 toddlers in tow

It's okay tuna, we can hang out at the end and get sneak previews watching everyone else :)

Feel dizzy and headachey and a bit hung over today. Fun! Long 6 hour drive tomorrow :(

MrsRhubarb · 19/08/2016 13:39

Eeeee, Scandi and LotsaTuddles so happy you had positive scans!

I'm still counting down the days to my GP appointment so I can be referred for my booking appointment. Come on Wednesday!

I've gone off tea. For the past week I just really haven't fancied it, and today I realised I haven't had it for days. This is so unlike me, I live for tea! Nothing makes me happier than a lovely cup of tea. It just doesn't taste right when I do have a mug. Worst. Pregnancy. Symptom. Ever. Sad

Puggleface · 19/08/2016 14:10

lovely scan news scandi and Tuddles
I went off tea completely in the 1st trimester of my last pregnancy MrsRubarb same again this time... I'm hoping that my colleagues won't notice!!

hummingbird100 · 19/08/2016 14:13

I'm feeling a bit iffy after my lunch and my toddler has just filled his nappy. Counting down til DH gets home to resume his Weekend Poo Daddy duties Confused

katemarob17 · 19/08/2016 14:16

Hey everyone, loving the forum as nice to see people going through the same things, as a first timer, its all very daunting. Plus we haven't told anyone yet, so can't talk about it. Have you all told parents/friends yet?
I'm not really sure what to put as my due date on here. Are you all going on first date of last period (1st July for me, so would be 1st April) or using the pregnancy calculator on here (14th April as 35 day cycles for me)?

BertieBotts · 19/08/2016 14:22

I went for what an app told me. I think it came up with different dates based on ovulation or period. I chose the later one.

When you have your dating scan it's likely to change anyway so a rough idea for now is fine. It's normally 40 weeks since last period rather than exactly 9 calendar months if that helps.

BertieBotts · 19/08/2016 14:23

We've told two friends as we are on holiday together and made more sense to explain why I am avoiding things or feeling peaky.

hummingbird100 · 19/08/2016 14:38

The doctor told me to just go by the date of my last period as that's what they do. But I have a 32 day cycle so I think I'm around 4 days behind what they said...my cycle may have been a bit wonky though as I only had 3 periods since my mmc

Number4OnTheWay · 19/08/2016 14:50
