Oh dear gin, are you actually vomiting? That's my worst fear at work, luckily I just have nausea and constant hunger to deal with this morning, oh, and an irresistible desire to put my head down on the desk and sleep off this massive "hangover" Grin

I think if you're really suffering, you should see your doctor and get some time off. Progesterone poisoning morning sickness is an illness like any other!

Luckily I won't have to come back to the office until I'm nearing the end of the first trimester with it being summer. At least when you work from home, you can always do it from your bed the sofa, which used to be more manageable for me last time. So thankful to have help with DS, can't imagine how hard it must be for SAH parents with no childcare options!

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 22/07/2016 10:38

Yep! Actually vomitting this time, I never did with DD and naively hoped this time would be the same. I think it would be better if I could eat first thing but there's just nothing I want to eat in the mornings... I need to find something I can stomach

neonrainbow · 22/07/2016 10:41

The person i sit next to at work wears perfume that i disliked before i got pregnant but now i really really hate it.

purplesmiler · 22/07/2016 10:48

super I'm having this issue now on hols. People smoking when sat very close to others. It's making me feel a bit sick at times.

SuperDuperJezebel · 22/07/2016 10:59

Grim isn't it, poor you! I felt like I was the only person in Greece who didn't smoke and I had a real bee in my bonnet about it!

ItsMagicYouKnow · 22/07/2016 11:11

gin you poor thing (and to the rest of you too). For the moment, this pregnancy is unfolding pretty much the same as with DS. Have you tried eating before you even get out of bed? Some bread, a cereal bar, crackers? I was craving Coke this morning Blush. Also I could really do with some salty crackers, like Crackawheat (are they still called that)? I raided the fridge for some apple compote the other night, which went down OK. I find being horizontal helps, so that's why I suggested eating something before you even get up.

ItsMagicYouKnow · 22/07/2016 11:12

Anyone else had to suffer wet-dog smell? Beurgh! I had to put half a lemon in a bowl of boiling water as a natural air freshener the other day...

SecretScaryFriend · 22/07/2016 11:25

The smell of ground coffe brewing, boak!
I'm usually a massive coffee fan. I had a decaf coke with breakfast instead. So wrong.
BFing DC1 is getting more painful now. The first 5 minutes are horrendous.

Overall, I can't moan. A bit of light nausea can be handled if I eat every 45 minutes!

hulahula10 · 22/07/2016 11:40

I can't even eat today, (very unlike me) I've had a cup of half caffeine coffee about 5 hours ago, and that's all I could stomach I think. May try plain crisps and a banana for lunch...

charlybs · 22/07/2016 12:08

I feel sick for hours after eating.. It wears off so I eat and so the cycle continues Envy

Cloeycat · 22/07/2016 12:37

Is anyone else easier startled? I just had the red arrows fly over the house and it gave me the fright of my life- normally I wouldn't even notice these things. Same thing yesterday when a motorbike back fired outside the house!

Blueandpinklove · 22/07/2016 13:09

Oh I have such compassion for morning sickness sufferers!! So far it hasn't hit but with my previous it was horrendous starting at 6 weeks. I would drive with my sick bag and I knew the office bathrooms REALLY well. Thankfully I always made it in time (except the one time when a coffee cup came in super handy - thankfully no one else was in the room at that moment!) Normally I'm a coffee fanatic but in an instant it goes from glorious to horrendous ... So hoping next week doesn't hit me like I'm expecting!! though if it doesn't hit I'll be worried...can't win Smile

AlaskanSnow · 22/07/2016 13:24

I've been waking up at 5am ravenous. So I've had to start taking food to bed with me to eat first thing, then I can drop back off to sleep again.

First feeling of nausea was last night, we were delayed while we were out, so it was about 9pm and I hadn't eaten since about midday. All of a sudden I felt really ill and said to DH I need to eat, NOW. One packet of crisps later I was perfectly fine.

Cantstringawordtogether · 22/07/2016 13:42

Not much nausea here really once I eat little and often I can stay on top of it

Think namechange was asking about the person with the suspected clot (well someone did!) anyway that's me! Not a clot but to cut a long story short they still don't know what's causing my pain, still in hospital waiting for results of a scan this morning and I am just so fed up of the place, want to feel better and get the hell out of here. Convinced they won't have found anything in the scan and I'll be sent off home to deal with unexplained pain, don't know how I will manage it if it doesn't improve, like I'm fine if I don't move but that's not really practical with a house of 7 people to run!!!

greentreeseverywhere · 22/07/2016 13:50

Hi newbie (long time lurker) so hope this is ok!
Name-Greentreeseverywhere
Age 28
Due 10th March
Child 1!

I'm a natural worrier so have booked a 8 week scan (next week) just to put my mind at ease but now worrying that as I haven't had my booking appt they won't see me (is this me needlessly worrying!?) Also worried it won't show anything and as I don't feel overly pregnant apart from boobs like rocks and some weird stomach fluttering/twitching. Sorry to write so much juse only my partner knows and so is nice to write it down and hopefully stop over thinking and worrying myself!

Congratulations to everyone xxx

Carolann8584 · 22/07/2016 14:00

Well just had my discreet walk (wanting to run) to the loo at work to wave goodbye to my lunch Sad hopefully nobody noticed , just hot and shaky now
x

Carolann8584 · 22/07/2016 14:00

Welcome green Smile

ElsaMars · 22/07/2016 14:02

Looks like the nausea/sickness is well and truly kicking in for all of us!

I'm feeling sick, exhausted and dizzy. Have eaten today - Watsits, pistachios and chocolate raisins, just call me Joe Wicks Grin

FXSkip · 22/07/2016 14:48

Well it looks like the nausea is getting the 5/6 weekers for sure! Mine seems to be passing now as I approach 7/8 weeks so fingers crossed for all of you! Everyone is different but what worked for me was having a green smoothie (nutribullet with kale, spinach, apple and banana) which I could sip from regularly and ice cubes bobbing about in it to keep it cold. Every single time I 'caved' to my bad-food cravings I felt really sick so I stayed away from bread, chips, ice cream and cooked cakes.
For some reason today I have eaten 2 pieces of cake, 2 mini flapjacks, peanut butter on toast and a croissant, and I feel like death. Serves me right!!

ItsMagicYouKnow · 22/07/2016 14:49

Well, we're a sicky bunch aren't we?! Welcome green btw! Grin

Currently ravenous although ate lunch an hour ago. This is how it goes for me: too nauseous in the morning to eat much, then starving throughout the day because I haven't eaten much, eat a good lunch, then too nauseous in the evening to eat, so hardly any dinner. And repeat...

NameChange30 · 22/07/2016 15:08

Cantstring Yes it was me who asked, sorry to hear you're still in hospital and feeling rubbish Sad Hope you get some answers and start to feel better soon Flowers

Sorry to those of you who are struggling with morning sickness - hang on in there and do see the doctor if it's making it difficult for you to function.

Please don't hate me, but I haven't really had it Blush I have occasionally felt a bit queasy, usually when hungry, but it hasn't stopped me eating. I'm still hungry all the time! I'm 8+1 today if that makes any difference.

Can't remember if I've posted this yet but we've now told most of our family and a few close friends. I feel strangely relieved, although I knew they'd all be happy for us, as I don't like keeping secrets!

Oh and I have cancelled one of my plans for the weekend, explained why and my friend was lovely about it. She's going to come and see me (yay!) another time soon. Smile

SuperDuperJezebel · 22/07/2016 15:14

I've got a sore throat and feeling a bit breathless, really hoping I'm not coming down with a chest infection. I went to the pharmacy and apparently all she was allowed to advise was honey and lemon. Taken some paracetamol which has done big fat nothing!

Hi just dipping my toe in to say hello.
Got my bfp a few days ago and I think my edd would be 27th March.
This will be dc3. Already have a boy and girl so I'm hoping to keep this one a surprise.
