CyclingGirl, I think I read if you are used to doing exercise then it's ok, but just be aware of your core temp. If you are getting hot you should take a break.

I play sport, but I've had to fake an injury until I can tell people I'm pg as DH doesn't want me playing. I think he's being a bit overprotective, but I've had some bad knocks in the past and whilst I'm sure it would be ok this is not the time to push it.

Hi everyone! Thanks Alpha For making the new thread. Amazed I got any sleep last night - SO glad for a spring baby I couldn't have hacked this with a big baby tummy.

I cannot believe how rude some people are to those with big families. I've honestly been shocked by some of the stuff that's been said to some of you. I can't imagine ever being that horrid to someone Shock

Gardencentregroupie · 20/07/2016 06:52

Good morning

No problem sleeping here, I'm so exhausted I'm practically asleep before my head hits the pillow. DD (2Yo) is sleeping as well as she ever does too, we both like being warm when we sleep so it's just a case of removing a few of our normal layers :) Day time is a different matter, it's bloody hard work when it's this hot. It was scorching towards the end of my pregnancy with DD and I was just this enormous swollen angry creature. Not fun.

Good luck for the scan cho

I've got my booking appointment this afternoon so will let you know how it goes. She said it's a long appointment filling out forms and I'm to take a morning urine sample (I've never paid so much attention to my morning wee like these past few months!).

I'm a runner and used to run 3x a week and do gym classes but my boobs have been so sore, I just can't do anything with a jiggle potential just now! Think this is why I'm so bloated/looking 6 months pregnant already! Been for a few swims and that feels fine. Might look into pregnancy yoga later on? Is it any good?

Cantstringawordtogether · 20/07/2016 07:04

I've 2 April/may babies and 3 August/September and definitely happy not to be going through 3rd trimester in the summer this time!!!

Have always heard it's ok to continue any exercise you're already doing just don't take on anything new :)

Cantstringawordtogether · 20/07/2016 07:05

I love love love yoga but have never managed to do pregnancy yoga, I've promised myself I'll do it this time though!

Dozygirl · 20/07/2016 07:25

Yoga is good. They tend to start from 16 weeks for some reason. I only managed a couple of sessions last time because of shift work and I didn't like looking at my fat self bouncing on a ball in the mirror compared to all the other lovely skinny preggos.

Cycling it's OK to carry on with exercise if that's what your body is used to. Just take it easy if u feel any different because your body is different to what it was pre pregnancy and ligaments become looser.

My core temp is currently trying permanently 38 to 39 degrees! I can't seem.to get it down and this heat doesn't help but even when it was cold a few days ago it was still running high. Anyone else having this problem? I'm guessing it's just my hormones. I'm warmer than my dd.

neonrainbow · 20/07/2016 07:28

I horse ride but have decided to stop as im 8 weeks today im gutted to have to stop. My instructor said she stopped at about 8 weeks and there seems to be no definitive advice on when it's safe till.

NameChange30 · 20/07/2016 07:31

I guess it depends on risk of injury and how comfortable you are with that risk.

Morning all and thanks for the new thread!

I've woken up with a poorly tummy and shooting (indigestion) pains. I also woke up worrying about giving birth and who will look after DS if when it happens, so that probably explains tummy problems! Some peppermint tea will sort it out I'm sure.

You're all making me jealous talking about sport. This is the first time in ages that I'm not doing any kind of sport (was going to take something up in September), so I'm looking forward to finding some yoga/aqua fitness lessons in the autumn, which will correspond nicely with the 2nd trimester.

Hope everyone's as well as can be! Nice and cool with rain here today Grin

Funny, I was much more comfortable at 9 months pregnant in this heat. I had a lovely easy pregnancy at the end and went to 41+2!

ItsMagicYouKnow · 20/07/2016 07:53

Neon I horse ride on and off too, never done it while pregnant though. In the end it's a personal choice taking the risk of falling into account, plus I think it gets a bit uncomfortable after a while. It is hard giving up something you love though! I took it up again when DS was 6 months, but I'd lost a lot of core strength with the exhaustion of being a parent and bfing.

Well I am not enjoying the heat at all 😫 Usually love the sun and hot temperatures but I just can't get comfortable on a night and my nausea is so much worse, I was sick for the first time on Monday evening. DH suggested we look at a holiday for October and we'd normally go to the Canary Islands but I don't know if I could manage the heat. Trying to persuade him a few days away in London would be better, with a visit to the Baby Show. Not sure that's quite what he had in mind!

Ladies who already have children, would you go away at 21 weeks? It would be a lazy, sunshine break but I just don't know if I'd be too uncomfortable in the heat?

tutulove · 20/07/2016 08:45

Well I went to the South of France when I was pregnant with DC1 and I was about 32 weeks. I really enjoyed it as it broke up the last part of the pregnancy. The only thing I'd say is you need to read the small print on any insurance you take out. I nearly bought one that said they didn't cover a caesarean in an emergency. I've never had a caesarean but even so....

ItsMagicYouKnow · 20/07/2016 09:05

21 weeks is often quite a nice moment in pregnancy, so it'd be a good time to go away. I've booked a weekend away in October too. Last time we travelled to the UK at around 20 weeks and it was fine (and quite hot surprisingly!) Just remember you'll have to go for a scan around 20 weeks.

Gardencentregroupie · 20/07/2016 09:08

WelliesAndCake I can't speak for pregnancy yoga but I did pregnancy then antenatal pilates when expecting DD and I can't speak highly enough of my classes. They were amazing for core strength, pelvic floor exercises, keeping my posture in check and when I got SPD my instructor was able to give me exercises to help.

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 20/07/2016 09:09

tutulove that's a good point and something I wouldn't have thought about so I'll definitely look at that, thanks!

itsmagic thanks, I definitely won't rule out a holiday then! But will keep in mind the 20 week scan when looking.

neonrainbow · 20/07/2016 10:08

How many weeks do you think you will be before you all start looking at/buying stuff?

fluffynonny · 20/07/2016 10:09

Catalina I went to Greece on a sailing holiday last May at 19 weeks and had a lovely time - even though I was sleeping in a tiny cabin on a rocky boat. The relaxation will do you good!

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 20/07/2016 10:31

neon I've already started browsing, my SIL is at the very end of her pregnancy now and I've been shopping with her throughout so I have an idea of what I'd like anyway but I don't think we'll buy any of the big stuff until around 20 weeks. I've told my DH I'd like to buy something anything at all after the 12 week scan, assuming everything is alright with that.

fluffy that's good to hear, thanks!
