I've just been walking about 30 minutes a day at pace, didn't want to do much bouncing/jumping doing a class, but I do like swimming so might make more of an effort soon as today has been ok, 8w+5 today

WelliesAndCake · 09/08/2016 17:10

NameChange I'm the same. I just feel so worn out exercise is the last thing on my mind. I've been walking and done a couple of pilates classes but I'm getting chubbier (can't blame it all on bloating Confused)! I usually run 3x a week (I'm in a club) but haven't ran since my BFP because a) I'm too worn out and b) my boobs hurt at the smallest jiggle. I've had to tell everyone I'm injured Blush I thought I might try zumba if my boobs ever settle down...

WelliesAndCake · 09/08/2016 17:12

PS. My scary doctors letter was because I have a UTI (with no symptoms). I'm on antibiotics for a week to clear it. Just glad it wasn't anything more serious.

NameChange30 · 09/08/2016 17:14

Wellies
I thought it was probably a UTI, glad it's just that and nothing else!
Thanks for answering my question about exercise, you've made me feel a bit better Smile I did manage a swim about a month ago and a Zumba class a few weeks ago

NameChange30 · 09/08/2016 17:14

...posted too soon! Anyway just meant to say that's rather pathetic but hopefully I'll be able to manage a bit of walking or swimming soon. And maybe even Zumba as I do miss it.

WelliesAndCake · 09/08/2016 17:24

I'm hoping to do some pregnancy yoga/pilates after my scan. And maybe swimming/zumba once a week. I've gone from being super busy/active to a biscuit munching couch potato!

NameChange30 · 09/08/2016 17:26

Lol me too! Such a relief to know I'm not the only one Smile I've enquired about pregnancy yoga, I think most teachers say you can start after 12 weeks.

ItsMagicYouKnow · 09/08/2016 17:28

Name The most exercise I'm getting is going up and down the stairs. I'm honestly feeling too exhausted for anything else, though I was still going for short walks up until last week. I was the same during my last pregnancy (apart from yoga in the 1st trimester, and a couple of Zumba classes just after BFP), and then started aquagym in the second trimester - I enjoyed it so much, I hardly missed a class and went up until they stopped the lessons for summer. I did the yoga until 40 weeks!

I'm planning on doing the same here (we've moved since), so one yoga lesson and one aquagym a week if I can. Will start from September, as my 2nd trimester coincides nicely with the start of the school year.

cyclinggirl22 · 09/08/2016 17:29

namechange I've been totally knackered every evening but trying to do a 15-20 mile bike ride 4-5 times a week. It's the getting out and doing it I find very difficult but my OH encourages me and comes too. I cycle with friends and the bloating/bump is getting hard to hide in Lycra so maybe only another week or 2 doing it then onto swimming. I know how you feel though I never want to do it but have more energy after

MrsMushrooms · 09/08/2016 17:31

I'm really struggling with exercise as well! I had knee problems before pregnancy but they're much worse now that I can't take ibuprofen so I'm walking much less than before (not that I was walking enough to start with!)

I want to start swimming but anything tight on my belly makes me feel really sick so I couldn't face my swimming costume. I've got a maternity one turning up tomorrow (way too early to be buying maternity clothes :S) so hopefully that'll help.

Anybody found any other gentle exercise that they're managing to do? My tiredness is easing off now so I'm running out of excuses :D

ElsaMars · 09/08/2016 17:32

No, no date put on it. She did say progression of any kind was good and that she's seen everything happen even when its not looking good. She also said the sac looks quite large compared to other development.

We saw a nurse afterwards, as is the norm and I thought she might shed some light but all she did was check some details and book the next scan.

It feels like they don't understand it either.

I personally feel like it's prob not developing properly and will come to a natural end but I could be wrong.

ElsaMars · 09/08/2016 17:35

Oh and re exercise, I can barely manage to make the beds as I discovered today doing DDs - needed a long sit down afterwards Grin

alphabook · 09/08/2016 18:11

Congrats rbucz and cant!

Really sorry you haven't had any conclusive answers Elsa, I know how agonising the wait is. I was over 6 weeks and barely had a yolk sac, is it possible for you to be a week or so behind what you think you are?

There's no chance of me being able to do exercise at the moment, I'm way too sick! Hoping to start pregnancy Pilates in the second trimester if I'm feeling better.

Hi Elsa, I'm sorry your scan wasn't conclusive.

I'm not trying to scare you, but my experience was similar with my MMC earlier in the year. I had to have 3 scans, each 2 weeks apart before they would make a decision. My baby was developing but way too slowly. It broke me because I was 99% sure about my dates and knew in my heart of hearts it couldn't be feasible but had to keep waiting when I just wanted it to be over so I could recover and start again. I was also slowly bleeding throughout though.

If there's a chance your dates are wrong then all might well be fine, but I knew for sure with mine and really should have made this very clear to them because the waiting did my head in. Like I said I'm not trying to scare you, just think it's useful to share similar situations.

I hope you have a better outcome and that your dates are just wrong!

LRDtheFeministDragon · 09/08/2016 18:52

Hello!

I hope you don't mind me asking, but am I allowed on this thread? DP is pregnant and due at the end of March. She had a look at MN a few weeks ago, but I don't think it is really her thing. Would it be inappropriate for me to lurk on here a little? Totally understand if so - just say.

NameChange30 · 09/08/2016 18:56

LRD
Hello and thank you for asking! To be completely honest I'm not 100% sure how I feel about a non-pregnant person joining in, this feels like a very safe space as everyone is in the same boat. However I would like to try and be exclusive so if most other people are ok with it, I won't object.
Do you mind me asking if you're a man or woman? If you're a man there's a book I'd recommend called "Pregnancy for men".

NameChange30 · 09/08/2016 18:58

I meant inclusive not exclusive! (Sorry!)

LRDtheFeministDragon · 09/08/2016 19:01

I'm a woman. And yes, completely understand, and do hope that if people do feel it's not on, you'll excuse me for asking.

MrsMushrooms · 09/08/2016 19:01

I'm totally happy for non-pregnant people to join in. It's a public forum so we can't expect any privacy and as you're expecting at around the same time, you're in the same boat as most of us! I hope you're welcomed

MissClarke86 · 09/08/2016 19:02

Doesn't bother me and I think it's very sweet of you actually, I'd love my DP to be that interested!

Welcome! Smile

ItsMagicYouKnow · 09/08/2016 19:06

Hi LRD and welcome! How's your DP coping with the first trimester? Is it your first baby?

Carolann8584 · 09/08/2016 19:11

LRD fine with me x

LRDtheFeministDragon · 09/08/2016 19:13

Hello Magic and Mushrooms and MissClarke! I'm going to go quiet in a mo because I want people to have time to see this and say they'd rather I didn't post, because I do totally follow why some might feel it changed the tone of the thread and wasn't on.

So - DP is doing ok, getting sick, poor love. It is her first pregnancy.

MrsMushrooms · 09/08/2016 19:19

Has she tried anything for the sickness, LRD? I haven't had it tooo bad and I hate ginger so I've not been doing anything to fend it off apart from having a lie down. Last night it was AWFUL though so I tried peppermint tea as I had read that was good somewhere, and it was amazing! It worked almost immediately

DaisyBank82 · 09/08/2016 19:19

Welcome LRD. Anyone could be lurking on here, pregnant or not. personally I have no issue with a partner (male or female) joining the group.

Elsa you must be very worried but it sounds like there is some doubt around the dates and sperm can live for a really long time! A friend of mine conceived in a cycle where she didn't think it was remotely possible as she was travelling for work but it must have been in there waiting. Everything crossed for you. Definitely keep the midwife appt - I wouldn't give that another thought.

I felt so much better yesterday but today I was sick twice before I left for work and once this afternoon at work - just made it to the loo in time. I am so tired too. I thought I might be getting past the worst but I think I am not out of the woods yet.
