I'm looking forward to telling family, just cause with DS it was a "oh shit i'm pregnant" kind of situation but this time it's different and people will be happy for us rather than worried than I'm going to fuck up. Well, except DPs mum but she is a whole other story.

I feel so so dead today, got back form work at lunchtime as only a short shift today and slept all day, Dp being great though looking after DS and letting me sleep.
Going back to sleep soon Blush

DaisyBank82 · 05/08/2016 19:47

I feel so glad I work part time at the moment! I am 3 days per week, mon-weds and yesterday I slept from 1.30-5pm! Luckily my DH is off work as he's in education so he looked after DD whilst I napped. I thought I might struggle to sleep last night but no! I couldn't wake up so he also got up with DD this morning too. I'm grateful but he was quite grumpy about this morning -not sure why his default assumption is that I get up and if not it's a massive favour but that's a different story. I'm feeling much more sick at the mo (10+1) and also have some odd cravings - this week for Thai red curry and minced beef in gravy?! Not together, I add! I am off veg and seriously off plain grilled chicken to the point where the thought of it makes me feel ill.
Can't remember who it was worrying about booze but if you read Expecting Better there is a section on drinking and the conclusion is that in small amounts it's probably fine. I've had the odd sip of champagne when it's offered as haven't really felt like much but I think once the dreaded scan is done with I'll have a glass when I feel like it, once or twice a week, with food.

DaisyBank82 · 05/08/2016 19:49

Neon I've also been wondering about whether it was you who tested 3+ weeks on a cb digital really early, right at the start of the group thread? And someone else said they bet it was twins? Keep meaning to go back and check!

ElsaMars · 05/08/2016 20:09

Thanks everyone. I do feel slightly better having managed to eat a pizza and a magnum today (healthy!)

Also went to docs as I've been really breathless and apparently it's caused my very mild asthma to flare up. I feel kind of insulted that pregnancy hormones are doing this to me and I may not really be properly pregnant - sorry, not trying to upset anyone. I also wimped out asking about a sick note.

What will be will be next week, it's 'done' already, I just don't know yet.

Again, thanks for the support Flowers

neonrainbow · 05/08/2016 20:26

Hi chaps that wasnt me i tested at 11dpo and got a very visible line on a first response and a clear blue digital (1-2 weeks it said at the time) which apparently can be an indicator... a strong line very early. My stomach is very prominent too. So i should probably have guessed. I had a scan because i had a bleed so i was seen at the epu for a scan. I hope more people are having twins Grin

Except have you seen the price of double buggies.. i could cry Confused

purplesmiler · 06/08/2016 06:21

Morning all. Struggled with constipation for the last few days had me almost in tears last night. Been eating extra fibre too so I'm hoping it eases a bit today.

We have told parents and siblings but otherwise are waiting until the scan (wish I had a scan date or booking in appointment still heard nothing).

AlaskanSnow · 06/08/2016 07:30

My booking in apt was yesterday.

I've booked a private scan for next week. I've been utterly symptomless apart from tiredness, so I've managed to convince myself there is nothing there. I'm 8 weeks today.

I know lots of you are struggling physically, so I've not wanted to say anything in case it sounded like I was boasting, or annoyed anyone.
But the anxiety and intrusive thoughts are driving me insane! I always thought I was well balanced but apparently not :-)

Dozygirl · 06/08/2016 07:41

Neon I don't know if I'm having twin but my dd is turning one this week so I'll be needing a double buggy after spending a fortune on my beautiful single pram haha. Trying to decide if I'd cope with baby in sling and dd in pram first of all.

neonrainbow · 06/08/2016 08:07

Dozygirl we went to mothercare they had about 80 prams there. About 15 tandens suitable for a younger and an older child.

They had 2 suitable for twins. Just 2. One was £1300 and the other about £1000 without car seats and and adapters and stuff. Will have to look out for second hand.

Butterpuff · 06/08/2016 09:25

Dozey we are a bit further on than you. DC1 will turn 2 just before baby arrives all being well. I was thinking about stretchy for baby and pushchair for DC1 just don't want to buy a second biggie. We have an unberella buggy as well as the travel system for big days out.

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 06/08/2016 09:58

Eek, just got my letter through for my 12 week scan! 17th August so only 11 days left to try not to tell the whole world!

5tardusty · 06/08/2016 10:14

Had an early scan yesterday due to spotting and was shocked to see a tiny little heartbeat at 6w. I had utterly convinced myself that there was nothing there and told the doctor so too!

I'm going to take part in the PRISM study for progesterone for women with bleeding in early pregnancy. Anyone else doing this?

Still some spotting today so i am definitely not out of the woods by a long way. Ultrasound showed a little pocket of blood in the uterus so i hope its just that working its way out.

Got another scan in two weeks, so fingers crossed that he or she is hanging in there!

WelliesAndCake · 06/08/2016 10:52

Hi all, I'm in a bit of a panic! I'm 9+5 and fingers crossed all going fine so far - only feeling tired and sore boobs really (sorry to all those who are suffering). I had a letter from the doctors this morning saying they had the results of my urine test (from the booking appt), and could I arrange to see the doctor to discuss. I'm in a panic thinking there is something wrong/I have imagined this whole pregnancy! I can't call the doctors until Monday so know I'll be worrying all weekend. I don't think I've got a UTI or anything like that? Has anyone else had a letter like this? Thanks x

NameChange30 · 06/08/2016 10:58

Wellies Apparently it's quite common to get UTIs in pregnancy and it's possible not to get symptoms, or at least not obvious ones. I think that's why they do regular urine tests. So maybe it's just a UTI that you haven't noticed symptoms of. I'm not sure what else it could be... If there is too much sugar in your urine they might want to follow it up? But whatever it is, the important thing is that they know about it and can treat/monitor you. I know it's hard but try and stay positive Flowers

NameChange30 · 06/08/2016 11:00

Wellies Just found this online which seems to confirm what I said (but with more info!)

alphabook · 06/08/2016 11:05

Mine is on the 17th as well Catalina!

Congrats 5tardusty!

No advice Wellies but I have everything crossed that it's nothing serious.

I've got 9 days till my anomoly scan just hope theyre both doing ok inthere. Also wemt to my lovely local baby shopand they were so much better than mothercare we found a double pram that will fit in the cae so i am so relieved and its about £500 not over £1k!!

WelliesAndCake · 06/08/2016 14:03

Thanks NameChange and Alphabook. I've just rang the midwife team (they have an advice line for reassurance) as I knew I'd be worrying all weekend. She said it was likely to be a UTI or a contaminated sample. She was really nice and didn't make me feel silly for ringing! I feel better now but a bit like I over reacted a bit! I'm usually a really relaxed person and didn't realise how pregnancy affected us mentally as well as physically! I expected the physical changes but not how much I could wonder and worry about it all right from the start. I didn't realise I would become so attached to a little bean at this early stage. Reading the posts on this group has been so helpful though - I know these feelings/worries are pretty normal. Fingers crossed for healthy pregnancies for us all x

Gardencentregroupie · 06/08/2016 14:39

Glad they were helpful wellies

I had a private scan this morning, wriggly little blob with arms and legs measuring 8+5, I was 8+6 by my dates so that's pretty much spot on :)

Has anyone gone into maternity clothes yet? Or if you've had 2+ DC already, when did you go into them before? I'm so bloated the idea of all that elastic is rather appealing...

abbinobb · 06/08/2016 16:01

Morning sickness makes no sense, it's the weirdest king if sickness ever. The idea of eating anything other than a McDonald's cheeseburger is making me feel so sick.
If I could he bothered I'd go and get about 20 and eat them all and be fat and happy but I can't be bothered at all, it's only about a 5 minute walk Blush

Dustycorners · 06/08/2016 16:01

Great scan news Garden! I'm 9+2 and have been wearing mat clothes at home for 2 weeks! Sooo comfortable! This is dc2 for me but third pregnancy so I am v bloated and have knackered stomach muscles that can't hold anything in. At work I have two very loose fitting dresses that I'm alternating between. Can't wait until i can tell them I'm pregnant and start wearing mat clothes there too!

neonrainbow · 06/08/2016 16:18

I'm wearing loose fitting clothes too wherever i can but maternity jeans are starting to sound like a wonderful idea. My jeans were quite roomy but are getting very tight.

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 06/08/2016 17:21

I'm definitely finding that I need to wear looser clothes or by the end of the day my jeans are cutting into my tummy uncomfortably. My SIL didn't have a hint of a bump until she was 18 weeks so I'm worrying about how big I'm going to get as I'm only 10+5 with dc1!

charlybs · 06/08/2016 17:59

Garden this is my first DC but DH has already dragged me to the shops to get maternity jeans because I've been crying about not fitting into any of my clothes lol. I'm so bloated and retaining so much water I can't fit into any trousers or shorts.

Had to get more bras too!

Wellies I've had thrush on and off since I realised. It's the worst Sad

NameChange30 · 06/08/2016 18:42

I haven't got any maternity clothes yet but I did buy a new tunic (roomy around the tummy) and leggings with a soft waistband! Tunics/dresses and leggings are my favourite thing to wear now. I can still fit into my trousers but most of my tops are too tight around the tummy, so I'm paranoid about looking obviously pregnant.
