Try to be kind to yourself. I have to say I'm surprised your doctor agreed to cold turkey, I do think if you don't feel better in the next few days you should consider going back on them (a lower dose than before) and then reducing the dose gradually. Anyway try not to beat yourself up about how you feel, that's a vicious circle! Flowers

alphabook · 31/07/2016 18:09

I completely missed the part where you said you went cold turkey, that makes a massive difference. I went cold turkey (without talking to my doctor about it) and felt awful, I'm surprised your doctor recommended it. Hopefully you'll feel better once the withdrawal wears off.

elsa sorry you're having a crap day.
Go back to work after maternity if you want to, just explain to dp that you'd prefer to do that. If he's negative about it just explain about when they're both in school you'll be much better off, and its hard to find a job after a big gap etc.
Arm I'm working even though it leaves us no better off but I got so fed up of being on my own with no adult company all day.

As for anti the anti depressants maybe see your gp? As far as I understand some are pretty safe in pregnancy so if that's what you need to do for your health then maybe that's what you need to do?
I stopped mine cold turkey once and it sent me psychotic so be careful and keep an eye on yourself if you can (not saying that will happen of course!)

ChoChang · 31/07/2016 19:20

Elsa sorry you're having a hard time. I don't know much about anti depressants so can't add anything, but would second going back to your go sooner rather than later if it continues. Hope tomorrows appointment helps Flowers

Agree with everyone else on the work front too. I'll be going back, but probaby 3 days a week I think. It'd make more financial sense for me to go back 4 days but I'd really like to spend a bit more time with dc when he/she arrives. Obviously finances are v important but there are other factors including your wellbeing which come into play.

ahsan · 31/07/2016 22:16

Got my first appointment today through the post for the 16th of August Grin feels more real now.

Thought I was escaping morning sickness...
Ate half a domino's pizza and just spent the past 10th minute er, un-eating half a domino's pizza Blush

I've pulled a muscle in my tummy from retching. Is there no humanity?!

SpanielLedWeaning · 01/08/2016 08:56

Last night I woke up at 1:30 am for a wee and couldn't get back to sleep for well over an hour. I had to go downstairs for a banana as I was starving but that still didn't help me sleep. I hate pregnancy insomnia!

I swear these symptoms are appearing much earlier than last time.

Newbie7077 · 01/08/2016 09:03

Sorry to everyone being sick :( :(

Elsa I decided to stay on citalopram during my pregnancy but I still feel quite a bit moodier than before because of pregnancy hormones. I didn't have any issues coming off citalopram in the past but i came off mirtazapine prior to getting pregnant and that was hell on earth. really. It is very difficult to reason your way out of feeling low when it's a physical process rather than something that is in your control.

Carolann8584 · 01/08/2016 09:28

Woke up with my head on fire, retching every time I cough or clear my throat, so far I have only actually been sick once but it's getting harder to fight it.

Oh the joys of pregnancy, you're worth it my little beany Smile

louise1609 · 01/08/2016 10:55

Phone call from the doctor this morning... hCG levels are increasing!!!! Dr happy they are 'improving appropriately' but still have some bleeding which is causing concern so yet another blood test due on Weds - fingers crossed levels continue to increase. I asked about an early scan but he didn't seem keen and replied with lets see how the next bloods come back.... So difficult to get excited as soo worried Confused

Hope everyone else experiencing problems is doing okay and those of you experiencing sickness feel better soon Flowers

Carolann8584 · 01/08/2016 11:18

That sounds positive louise1609 fx for you Smile

Carolann8584 · 01/08/2016 11:48

Think I have my first craving, or may its just because its the only think that doesn't make me feel nauseous thinking about it. All I want to eat is potatoes! Confused I'm normally a pasta/rice person and try to avoid bread and potatoes but now all I want is a Jacket potato

neonrainbow · 01/08/2016 12:10

Hey guys all ok with me i just had my scan it was just an implantation bleed the sonographer said happens in 90% of cases of a bleed.

Oh yeah, and its twins ConfusedSmileShock

Cloeycat · 01/08/2016 12:18

Two little ones! Congratulations Neon, delighted the bleed was nothing to worry about either.

wornoutboots · 01/08/2016 12:44

congratulations Neon
that's two lots of twins in this thread, isn't it?

SuperDuperJezebel it might vary in different areas, but I'm on labetolol for my BP too and I will be having consultant-led care. But I still have to see a midwife (saw one weekly when I had my daughter) too.

Carolann8584 · 01/08/2016 12:48

Wow neon that's great news. So happy for you.

We're getting impatient waiting for our appointments. Lots of twins in both of our families so want to know if we will be adding a set Smile xxx

NameChange30 · 01/08/2016 12:58

neon Twins! Shock 👶👶 Congratulations Smile I have to say I think I would have a mini heart attack if there were two in there, but it's lovely news and hopefully exciting once you get over the shock! Do you have twins in the family?

louise Great news on your blood test! Hope the test on Weds is a good result as well and your doctor agrees to a scan x

MissClarke86 · 01/08/2016 13:37

Wow neon, that's super news! How are you feeling about twins!?

I also went for a reassurance scan today and can hardly dare to believe it but everything was fine! They dated me at 8+3 and as a strong heartbeat. I'm so relieved.

Newbie7077 · 01/08/2016 13:54

wow congrats neon. I'm a twin too and it's great :)
Missclarke- Beautiful scan!! Was this a transvaginal or "normal" if you don't mind me asking?

cyclinggirl22 · 01/08/2016 13:55

Wow neon congrats, that must have been a shock but so exciting at the same time

MissClarke86 · 01/08/2016 14:13

Thanks newbie :) it was transvaginal, they could see something abdominally but nowhere near as clearly.
