lula I'm very much still pregnant - 41 weeks tomorrow!

pulpi · 29/07/2016 16:00

Lula I understand how you feel. I hit 41 weeks yesterday and I feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever. But then I bought some non-pregnant lady cheese at the shop today because by this time next week, I'll have a wee baby to cuddle! So I'm 99% excited about the baby, 1% excited about the Chaource cheese.

I seriously, really love that cheese.

Lulabells · 29/07/2016 19:27

Glad I'm not alone yet! Pulpi I have a tub of Pate arriving tomorrow because like you I am just as excited about that as the baby's arrival!

Kaytee fingers crossed you don't have to wait much longer. It feels very quiet on this thread now!

Come on babies!!!!

tams13 · 29/07/2016 20:05

Love that you've got your post-pregnancy food ready! It's so frustrating going over 40 weeks. Hope your bedroom antics work some magic lula!

AnnaT45 · 29/07/2016 20:18

Oh I feel your pain from my first pregnancy. Waiting is bloody awful. I used to wake up feeling so disappointed nothing had happened. I guess the only thing to do is try keep busy to keep your mind off it. Lunches, coffees etc. I'm not even 40 weeks yet and am fed up lol!

Had my pre op today. All going well baby will be here Monday lunchtime. Am a bit scared about two and the recovery but so excited to meet bub and see what it is!!!

I'm having indian for dinner. Not spicy though as don't want t go into labour! What's everyone's weekend plans? I'm shopping tomorrow morning for house stuff then DH taking DD swimming so I can nap!! Xx

Lulabells · 29/07/2016 20:40

We might not make dtd tonight, since posting earlier I am getting a lot of strong "twinges"! Trying not to get too excited/scared but something is going on tonight, might just be baby practising but lots of movement, pelvic pressure, strong frequent braxtons.

It's a bit weird because I started labour at 8pm on a Friday with my DD too on the night we were meant to get it on if no baby had showed up! The mere threat of sex seems to work! Will keep you posted!

AnnaT45 · 29/07/2016 21:09

Oh sounds good lu ha ha your body is 'like id rather have this baby than attempt sex heavily pregnant' lol! Keep is posted. I've been having some mild contractions the last two days but nothing seems to happen after an hour. Most annoying! Got everything crossed for you xx

dats · 29/07/2016 21:46

Lula squee! Good luck! Either way I hope you get a restful night.

pulpi tell me more about the cheese!

Good luck guys, Anna hope you're doing ok, lovely

dats xx

julfin · 29/07/2016 22:06

All the very best to you all! x

Lulabells · 30/07/2016 06:41

Morning all! Nothing exciting to report I'm afraid. I went to sleep last night and it all stopped. Bit disappointed but was nice to squeeze a bit more sleep in before little man arrives.

Still got about a week before induction so back to pineapple and sex (yeah right!).

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

40+4

GoingLoopyQuickly · 30/07/2016 06:55

Hello ladies, for those of you not on the fb page, Isabelle Rose was born on thursday 28 July (edd) weighing 8lbs 5oz, following a very quick induction. Actual labour from waters going to cuddles was just 45 minutes. She is perfection.

Here is a photo of her catching up on some important sleep from keeping mummy up all night.

Cheery1 · 30/07/2016 07:44

Congratulations loopy! Isabelle is gorgeous x

AnnaT45 · 30/07/2016 08:06

Congrats going she's is so gorgeous! And wow what a quick induction for you! Ha ha, the sleepless nights are fun aren't they!

lu how annoying. What are you going today? Maybe try keep busy if you can? We are off shopping in an hour to get house things. I find walking quite hard at the moment though as have so much pressure down there so hoping to stick to John Lewis and get a coffee break every 20 mins Wink

Lulabells · 30/07/2016 08:21

Congratulations loopy, I hope you are enjoying lots of newborn cuddles!

Anna I love a bit of house shopping! Enjoy a bit of retail therapy and the coffee stops! I've got our mums over for a cup of tea today and then this evening my DP has a couple of friends over for a bit of food and film. He is on strict instructions that he can't drink! It's a bit of a bloke night so I'm going to bed to watch a film and enjoy some Eton mess icecream!

tams13 · 30/07/2016 08:42

How frustrating lula! I like your bed, film and ice cream plans though.

annaenjoy your shopping. It'll be the last trip for a while without a newborn or pram attached to you.

Congratulations going. Super quick induction! She's gorgeous- well done you.

beckslovestimmy · 30/07/2016 09:00

Congratulations Going, she's beautiful. My first labour was 45 mins from waters going to birth. Nice and quick!! Hope she lets you get a bit more sleep soon.

pulpi · 30/07/2016 09:55

GoingLoopy - oh she is perfect!

Anna - hope you have a relaxing final weekend!

dats - the cheese is like a brie, but creamier. Oh gods, it just melts right onto the bread. The flavour is strong, but not like a blue and it doesn't make you feel like you have a hairy tongue (might just be my reaction to particularly strong cheeses). And then with a bit of wine... Heaven. Absolute heaven. C'mon kid, Momma wants her cheese!!!

lula - these mild contractions, while not intense, are damned annoying, eh? I just wish the whole thing would kick off already! Here's hoping today is our day! Or tomorrow, because then they would share a birthday with Harry Potter. Yeah, I think I've lost the plot over here...

Off to wander around town for a few hours. Here's hoping that all the dtd and ball bouncing (strangely, I didn't think about combining those activities until just now) has finally done something.

41+2 (or do we count it as 40+9?)

AnnaT45 · 30/07/2016 13:05

Had a good trip. Got some curtains for the playroom so I can sit and breastfeed with DD playing in there and no one looking in from the street lol! DD ran a muck though... Bloody tired now. She's just gone for a nap so I am too! Then DH taking her swimming so I'm going to sort my hospital bag and DD bag as she's with my sister sun and mon night and just have some peace and quiet!

pulpi that cheese sounds amazing!!!! Yum!!! And yes to the wine!!!! DD has a dairy allergy so I couldn't even cheese after I had her as was breastfeeding and it goes through the milk. I'm praying this one is better!
I'm also now wanting to have my baby tomorrow as I love Harry Potter lol!

I'm a disgrace as I just had a Burger King for lunch...

Bluebell20 · 30/07/2016 14:36

I've not managed to get on here until now since hopping over to postnatal - it seems I can no longer manage extensive internet browsing now I have a newborn! Argh!

Congrats GoingLoopy!

Pulpi, that cheese sounds absolutely bloody incredible. I was so excited about eating contraband foodstuffs once I'd popped sprog, but am finding that I'm actually a bit nervous about it! I must man up and have me a runny egg. I have had four sips of prosecco though. God was it ever lovely.

Good luck those of you still awaiting babies!

katemess12 · 31/07/2016 08:31

Hi everyone, Liz here. Just popping in to say that our little one (a girl!) was born at 2:33am on July 30. Her name is Madeleine Chenault. 8lb 7oz and 21in of pure sweetness. From start of contractions until birth was just 10 hours, and only four hours between getting to the hospital and delivering. Very fortunate that everything went smoothly.

Had the shakes badly both before and after birth. I assume it was adrenalin, but man, I had no idea that they'd be that bad! But aside from that, just very exhausted. Have barely slept, not because I haven't had the chance but because I worry that something will happen to her if I sleep, haha! Staying in hospital until Tuesday to ensure that we get feeding established etc. We're the only ones on the ward at the moment, so getting lots of attention from nurses etc!

Hope other mums still waiting on their lil bubs are getting somewhere. They have to come out eventually. Grin

Congrats Liz!!! She's beautiful!

SpeakNoWords · 31/07/2016 09:50

Fantastic! Madeleine is beautiful!

AnnaT45 · 31/07/2016 09:59

Congrats Liz! What a gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl! Def stay on as long as you can to get the feeding established. I did that with DD and I think had I not would have given up quite quickly x

dats · 31/07/2016 12:48

Congrats! Beautiful girl and beautiful name Flowers xx

Cheery1 · 31/07/2016 12:51

Congrats Liz! Xx
